An Jingzhao learned from Li Chuyue that she had once come into contact with the ring in Gu Qingfeng's possession. He suspected that the gateway between the two worlds might be related to the ring. So, he followed Li Chuyue and Gu Qingfeng, trying to create an opportunity to access Gu Qingfeng's ring. However, their efforts did not open the gateway.

During their quest to help Li Chuyue's father retrieve an antique vase, they stumbled upon an extraordinary sword with the inscription "Shangyu" and a single character below it: "Ming." Unfortunately, they couldn't obtain the sword due to urgent circumstances. Upon closer inspection, they noticed a peculiar stone in An Jingzhao's bedroom that resembled the meteorite Li Chuyue had brought back. They suspected that the meteorite might be the key clue to opening the gateway.

An Jingzhao hoped that Li Chuyue would return to Shangyu with him, while Gu Qingfeng showed a keen interest in Li Chuyue, even attending a family banquet at her house. In his urgency, An Jingzhao confessed his feelings to Li Chuyue. Initially, Li Chuyue had thought that An Jingzhao only wanted to go home and didn't have romantic feelings for her, so she was unsure how to respond to his confession.
