Facing Dr. Lu's curiosity, Gu Yunzheng admitted his feelings for Su Weian, stating that she was a very special girl. Dr. Lu observed the mutual affection between Su Weian and Gu Yunzheng and suggested a collaboration between them. Gu Yunzheng took this opportunity to confess his feelings, and the rainbow-like atmosphere touched Su Weian's heart, forcing her to suppress her emotions.

Su Weian boldly speculated about flaws in the patent, earning Dr. Lu's attention, but he still did not consider collaboration. After leaving the bar, Gu Yunzheng privately told Su Weian that there were definite issues with the HDQ39 project. He suspected a connection between her aunt's brain aneurysm and the drug trial. However, Su Weian was unwilling to abruptly stop the medication, decisively rejecting Gu Yunzheng's advice.

Du Yuncheng, arranged by his mother, went on a date with Wen Ran. While driving her home, he warned her not to play tricks in the future. His mother liked Wen Ran due to her family background. Concerning the patent, Du Yuncheng no longer insisted. Su Weian informed Du Yuncheng that the aneurysm might be related to the drug trial, and they might need to suspend the experiment. Du Yuncheng said they would wait for Professor Wen's and other supervisors' feedback.

During the conversation, Wen Ran came over, sarcastically mocking Su Weian and accusing her of stealing credit and a boyfriend. On the other side, Li Wantong came to find Gu Yunzheng again, coincidentally seen by Su Weian. She overheard the words "that night" and misunderstood the situation. After Su Weian left, Gu Yunzheng shook off Li Wantong's entanglement, reminding her to return to her position during working hours. In reality, Li Wantong came to discuss the feasibility of interdisciplinary cooperation with Gu Yunzheng, suggesting communication via WeChat, but Gu Yunzheng preferred email.

Everyone accompanied Aunt Su Yuan as she was discharged from the hospital, and they found many people in the stairwell. Hospital Director Wang Huanzhong asked Gu Yunzheng to invite Li Wantong to dinner on behalf of the department, and Gu Yunzheng had to agree.
