Wen Ran, under the pretext of visiting Du's mother, revealed that Su Weian had questionable academic and personal ethics, entering the research group through Gu Yunzheng's connections. Du's mother, originally wanting Wen Ran to secure the research assistant position to help her son, believed the information without verification and directly informed Du Yongsong, pretending to express concern about Gu Yunzheng being deceived.

Upon hearing this, Du Yongsong was furious and refused to let Gu Yunzheng act recklessly. He didn't care who got the research assistant position as long as it wasn't Su Weian, whom he considered a taboo.
