Lin Yan accidentally caught sight of Xue Deng and out of curiosity used her ability to track his whereabouts. She was puzzled as to why Xue Deng would go to the Xue Qing Small Courtyard. Meanwhile, Xue Deng had returned home carrying a bag of pastries, only to find Wei Qing inside. From their expressions, they seemed quite familiar with each other. Xue Deng held Wei Qing's hand and placed a peace talisman in her hand, thanking her for taking him in these past few days.

On this day, Xue Deng went to the Hongxian Temple to buy a peace talisman for Wei Qing to win her favor, even kneeling before Pei Yin's portrait, his arch-nemesis. He prepared himself mentally before reluctantly kneeling down. However, someone from the Shen Ji Men suddenly ambushed him from behind. Early on, Xue Deng noticed that Lin Yan was following him, so after the person left, he quickly exposed Lin Yan's disguise. Xue Deng used Ning Lan as a condition to make a deal with Lin Yan to work together. After much thought, Lin Yan agreed to Xue Deng's offer. However, she never expected that her target for the Mo Du technique would be Pei Yin, who was in a coma. Lin Yan's excessive use of the Mo Du technique in a short period of time caused her to be exhausted and in unbearable pain. Xue Deng, on the other hand, was delighted to see the content of the Mo Du technique.
