> Love of Nirvana Recap

Wei Zhao secretly took Jiang Ci out of the palace for a break. They accidentally saw a stall selling little clay cats, and Wei Zhao immediately bought one as a gift for Jiang Ci. When Jiang Ci mentioned wanting to eat candied hawthorns, Wei Zhao went off without hesitation to buy them. Seizing the opportunity, Jiang Ci snuck away. Meanwhile, Dong Juan invited Cui Liang to enjoy the night scenery by the river.

They hit it off instantly and had a lively conversation. Pei Yan, eating noodles alone at a street stall, couldn’t help but reminisce about the time he and Jiang Ci ate noodles there. Lost in thought, Cui Liang recognized Pei Yan and hurried over with Dong Fang to greet him, inviting Pei Yan to join them for a walk. Jiang Ci, trying to find her master Yan Shuangqiao, was caught by Wei Zhao.

He advised her not to leave the palace rashly to avoid raising Xie Che's suspicions. Wei Zhao promised to uncover the truth as soon as possible, allowing Jiang Ci to leave the palace. Pei Yan reluctantly accompanied Cui Liang and Dong Fang on their stroll, when they unexpectedly ran into Jiang Ci and Wei Zhao. The six of them sat together for drinks.

Pei Yan persistently questioned Jiang Ci about how she had left the palace, and Wei Zhao admitted he was the one who brought her out. Pei Yan angrily scolded Wei Zhao, but Wei Zhao didn’t back down, retorting sarcastically. Jiang Ci, to break the tension, grabbed a roast chicken and shared it with everyone, diffusing the argument between Wei Zhao and Pei Yan.

Dong Fang, now aware of Jiang Ci's identity and that Pei Yan broke off their engagement for her, felt deeply moved. Dong Juan, too, was filled with emotions and raised a glass to Jiang Ci. Wei Zhao, Cui Liang, and Pei Yan had no choice but to drink along with them. Jiang Ci noticed that Cui Liang liked Dong Juan and advised Dong Juan to cherish the relationship.

Dong Juan, in turn, wished that Jiang Ci would find her true love. The two women felt an instant connection and talked enthusiastically. After eating and drinking, Wei Zhao escorted Jiang Ci back to the palace. Having drunk too much, Jiang Ci dozed off on Wei Zhao's shoulder. Crown Prince Xie Chi held a banquet in the Eastern Palace to celebrate Jiang Ci, inviting Pei Yan, Wei Zhao, Dong Juan, and Xie Yu to join.

Each of them presented a poem to Jiang Ci, and she gifted each one of them a flower. She deliberately gave Wei Zhao a poisonous flower, explaining it with great eloquence. Xie Yu couldn’t help teasing Wei Zhao about it, which made Pei Yan uneasy. Dong Juan suggested that Wei Zhao return a flower to Jiang Ci, and Wei Zhao had no choice but to comply.

When the palace maids served the wine, Wei Zhao noticed something was off with Jiang Ci's drink. Using the excuse of placing a flower on her, he secretly swapped out her cup. Later, Wei Zhao sought out Pei Yan to discuss the situation, revealing that Jiang Ci had nearly been poisoned. He warned Pei Yan to take better care of Jiang Ci in the future, suspecting that Rong Yudie had instructed Nanny Du to carry out the poisoning.

Feeling bored while dining alone, Jiang Ci invited Liu Cui to join her. Through their conversation, Jiang Ci learned that Liu Cui had entered the palace for the sake of her younger sister, so she gifted Liu Cui one of her hairpins. Meanwhile, Wei Zhao rushed to meet Jiang Ci, bringing her two new palace maids. Wei Zhao quickly discovered that the maid Chun’er had poisoned Jiang Ci's drink and conducted an overnight interrogation.

Chun’er confessed that she had been ordered by Tao Zizhu to do so. Wei Zhao exposed Chun’er's lie on the spot, suspecting that Rong Yudie had actually instructed Nanny Du, intending to frame Xie Che. Wei Zhao ordered Yi Fei to spread the rumor that Chun’er had committed suicide and to keep a close watch on Nanny Du. Pei Yan assigned An Cheng to monitor Nanny Du and accidentally found out that Yi Fei was also tracking her.

He confirmed that it was his mother, Rong Yudie, who had attempted to poison Jiang Ci. Pei Yan immediately confronted Rong Yudie, forbidding her from ever harming Jiang Ci again or facing dire consequences. Rong Yudie had planned to kill Jiang Ci with poison and frame Xie Che, forcing Pei Yan to make up his mind to seize the throne. She hadn’t expected Pei Yan to see through her plan, and she flew into a furious rage.

Pei Yan then begged Xie Che for an imperial decree to marry Jiang Ci, vowing to protect her for the rest of his life. Xie Che, not wanting Jiang Ci to suffer any more grievances, instructed Pei Yan to begin preparations for the wedding.
