Love of Nirvana Episode 33 Recap
> Love of Nirvana Recap
Tomorrow is Pei Yan and Jiang Ci's grand wedding day. The Marquis Jian Ding’s residence is festively decorated, both inside and out, bustling with joy. Pei Yan has prepared everything and is eager to bring Jiang Ci home as his bride. However, Jiang Ci is not happy. All she wants is to escape, but the palace is heavily guarded. She has thought of many ways but none have worked.
She considers seeking help from Wei Zhao, but she doesn't want to involve him in her troubles. Dong Juan arrives to congratulate Jiang Ci. Upon learning about Jiang Ci's plan to escape the wedding, Dong Juan agrees to help her. Meanwhile, Rong Yudie and Wei Zhao have agreed to overthrow Emperor Xie Che on the wedding day. They made meticulous plans, including having Yan Shuangqiao disguised and blended into the wedding procession.
They arranged for an inside contact to bring Yan Shuangqiao to a side hall in the palace. Yan Shuangqiao always carries a sword with her, and Rong Yudie instructed her to hide it within the betrothal gifts. Yan Shuangqiao agreed to cooperate with Rong Yudie, but their goals differ. Rong Yudie wants to overthrow Xie Che, while Yan Shuangqiao only wants to kill him to avenge her sister, Yan Shuwan, and for Xie Chun's death.
Early in the morning, Jiang Ci puts on her wedding attire. As promised, Dong Juan arrives at the palace under the pretense of touching up Jiang Ci’s makeup. She has Jiang Ci change into the clothes of a palace maid named Jin Xin and arranges a carriage to wait outside the palace. Jiang Ci, not wanting to implicate Dong Juan, pretends to have been forced to leave the palace.
Dong Juan successfully escorts Jiang Ci out, passing through the first gate. Along the way, Jiang Ci notices Yan Shuangqiao in the wedding procession and realizes that she has come to find her. Worried about Yan Shuangqiao’s safety, Jiang Ci wants to return immediately, but the carriage has already reached the last palace gate. Yan Shuangqiao, following the procession, enters the side hall. Seizing an opportunity, she retrieves the sword hidden in the betrothal gifts and hides herself.
Meanwhile, Rong Yudie had Nanny Du arrange for a group of assassins to infiltrate the imperial guards' camp, where they killed the commander. The wedding officially begins, with Emperor Xie Che personally presiding over the ceremony. Before leaving the house, Pei Yan heard that his mother, Rong Yudie, was not at home, and he felt a sudden unease. Jiang Ci slowly approached the main hall where Pei Yan had been waiting for a long time.
Just then, Wei Zhao rushed in, claiming that assassins had infiltrated the palace and urging Xie Che to leave immediately. Xie Che suspected that the assassins were arranged by Rong Yudie. He immediately sought her out, and Rong Yudie demanded that Xie Che atone for the death of Pei Zijing. She brought out Yan Shuangqiao and declared her intent to kill Xie Che to avenge Xie Chun and Yan Shuwan. Xie Che denied everything, but Rong Yudie wouldn’t listen.
She wanted to overthrow Xie Che and have Crown Prince Xie Chi ascend the throne. Emperor Xie Che remained calm. At his command, Wei Zhao and the Bright Guards burst through the doors. Yan Shuangqiao drew her sword and fought alongside them, but her sword shattered in half during the battle. Only then did she realize that Rong Yudie had switched her sword and that the blade had been poisoned.
Yan Shuangqiao, having been poisoned, grew weaker and was eventually pierced by several swords. Jiang Ci arrived in a panic, witnessing Yan Shuangqiao lying in a pool of blood. Overcome with grief, she was devastated, while Wei Zhao was equally shocked by the scene. Xie Che ordered Rong Yudie to be executed on the spot. Tao Zizhu brought reinforcements and surrounded Rong Yudie. Pei Yan rushed forward to protect his mother, kneeling and begging Xie Che to spare her life.
With nowhere left to run, Rong Yudie surrendered. Jiang Ci, overwhelmed by shock, fell into unconsciousness, repeatedly calling out for her master. When she finally woke up, she was overjoyed to see Yan Shuangqiao by her side, believing it to be a dream. However, when Jiang Ci saw the blood on her palm, she realized that the earlier scene wasn’t a dream—her master, Yan Shuangqiao, had truly died in her arms.
Jiang Ci’s health deteriorated from the shock, and Wei Zhao escorted her back to the palace. Meanwhile, Pei Yan knelt for hours, pleading with Emperor Xie Che to spare his mother, Rong Yudie. That same night, Xie Che visited Rong Yudie in prison. Rong Yudie, filled with hatred, regretted not killing him. Xie Che claimed he had always been deeply in love with Rong Yudie, but she had betrayed their relationship by choosing Pei Zijing.
Rong Yudie couldn’t help but laugh coldly, accusing Xie Che of betraying her for the throne. She tried to kill Xie Che with a jade hairpin, but Xie Che swiftly grabbed it from her. Years ago, Rong Yudie and Xie Che had been deeply in love, but now they were mortal enemies. Xie Che decided not to kill Rong Yudie but sentenced her to spend the rest of her life in Jingxin Nunnery, transcribing scriptures.
