Love Song in Winter Episode 6 Recap
> Love Song in Winter Recap
Jiang Chengyi made a banner to thank Lu Yan and brought it to her office. However, Lu Yan insisted that the banner should acknowledge the entire medical staff. If he wanted to thank her personally, she suggested writing a commendation letter instead. Hearing this, Jiang Chengyi pulled out a prepared letter from his pocket and teased her for being fame-driven. They exchanged a few playful jabs before Jiang Chengyi offered to treat her to dinner that evening.
Just then, the emergency room called Lu Yan for assistance, and she had to leave in a hurry. Jiang Chengyi returned to his father’s hospital room, where his mother mentioned that Ding Jing was coming to visit. Reluctantly, he went to the elevator to meet her. Meanwhile, Lu Yan, after finishing her work in the emergency room, remembered Jiang Chengyi’s dinner invitation and went to his father’s room to see if he was still there.
Jiang’s mother warmly welcomed Lu Yan and introduced her to Ding Jing. Lu Yan recognized Ding Jing as her university classmate, and the two greeted each other. Jiang’s mother then realized that Lu Yan and Jiang Chengyi must have been classmates as well. Ding Jing quickly clarified that she and Jiang Chengyi had known each other since middle school and had grown up together. Sensing Ding Jing’s subtle hostility, Lu Yan checked on Jiang’s father’s condition and left the room.
Ding Jing then asked Jiang Chengyi to have a meal with her. Jiang’s father encouraged the idea, but Jiang’s mother looked unimpressed. After leaving the room, Jiang Chengyi told Ding Jing not to waste her time on him and postponed the meal, walking away before she could respond. Back in her office, Lu Yan found a note left by Jiang Chengyi inviting her to dinner. After work, she happily left the hospital with him.
Wen Peng called to invite Lu Yan to dinner as well, but she explained she had plans. Just as she hung up, Wen Peng saw Lu Yan getting into Jiang Chengyi’s car. The two returned to their university campus, where they saw a boy jogging with his girlfriend on the track. The scene reminded them of their past relationship. They later went to a nearby street to eat spicy hotpot.
Jiang Chengyi still remembered Lu Yan loved wide noodles and gave her all the noodles from his bowl. After dinner, they stopped at the school gate, where Jiang Chengyi brought up the time when Lu Yan confessed her feelings to him at the same spot. Back then, Jiang Chengyi hesitated to acknowledge his true feelings, fearing that his police academy studies might limit their time together.
Lu Yan, however, believed that true love didn’t depend on how long they could be together. She had asked him to wait for her at the finish line of the 3000-meter race during the school sports day if he wanted to be with her. Coming out of their shared memories, Jiang Chengyi finally mustered the courage to ask Lu Yan why she had initiated the breakup back then. Lu Yan didn’t answer, and Jiang Chengyi didn’t press further.
Instead, he told her that his leave had ended, and he would be returning to work the next day. The next day, before boarding his flight, Jiang Chengyi thought Lu Yan might come to the airport to see him off. However, Lu Yan got caught up with an emergency case. By the time she finished, the flight was about to depart, but she still rushed to the airport.
Running into the terminal, she learned that Jiang Chengyi’s flight had already taken off. Feeling a wave of disappointment, she suddenly heard someone call her name. Turning around, she saw Jiang Chengyi standing behind her. Jiang Chengyi explained that eight years ago, he had waited for her but hadn’t had the courage to take the next step. This time, he wanted to try again. He then revealed that he had received a transfer order to return to Ninghai. Overwhelmed with both excitement and nervousness, Lu Yan listened as Jiang Chengyi asked to officially exchange contact information with her.
