Xia Qiange opened the surveillance and saw Gu Chengze looking for documents here. Xia Qiange confronted Gu Chengze with the photo, and Gu Chengze admitted that his mother left behind a necklace that was very important to him. It is now in Gu Chengfeng's hands, and he wants to retrieve it. Gu Chengfeng made a condition, which is to help him secure the Zhongxia Plaza project.
Gu Chengze explained that he received information earlier about a major capital planning to build a mall in this area, with investments and scale several times larger than theirs. This project would not be profitable, so he deliberately let Gu Chengfeng take it. Xia Qiange mentioned that he did a background check before and didn't receive such information. Gu Chengze said that if they found out, the project would be compromised, so the information had to be kept confidential.
Xia Qiange expressed that he didn't care about the project; what mattered to him was that someone deceived him. He asked if Gu Chengze's previous kindness in the office was also intentional. Gu Chengze quickly stated that all of that was genuine.
Gu Chengze went to find Gu Chengfeng to make him fulfill his promise. Gu Chengfeng said he already knew about the project and didn't expect Gu Chengze to dare deceive him. Gu Chengfeng mentioned that the necklace is with their grandfather and challenged Gu Chengze to go find him if he has the ability. Gu Chengfeng ordered his men to attack Gu Chengze, but Xia Qiange rushed over and forbade them from bullying his man. Gu Chengze protected Xia Qiange and got beaten badly. After returning home, Xia Qiange helped Gu Chengze apply medicine to his injuries.
