Ning Yue and Qin Can went on a business trip to a nearby city to meet with He Kuan. Ning Yue volunteered for the trip because she wanted to uncover the truth about a financial matter from years ago. They worked late into the night and decided to stay at a hotel. When Hu Cheng called Ning Yue, he overheard a man’s voice in the background.

The truth was, Qin Can was helping Ning Yue back to her room after she fell off the bed. It was a normal interaction between colleagues. The next day, Qin Can dropped Ning Yue off at her home, where Hu Cheng was waiting for them at the building entrance. He confronted Ning Yue, and though Qin Can tried to explain, Hu Cheng didn’t believe him. Frustrated, Ning Yue didn’t bother arguing and turned to go home.

Hu Cheng assumed Ning Yue was retaliating against him because of the recent video incident, but Ning Yue had no such intention. Unsure of what she wanted, Hu Cheng questioned her motives. Ning Yue finally admitted the truth: she wanted to start fresh with him, to let go of the past and forgive him. However, Hu Cheng had repeatedly hurt her, and he didn’t understand how difficult it was for her to decide to forgive and rebuild trust.

Lao Mo called Hu Cheng to ask about the video with Tian Qiuzi. Hu Cheng lied, claiming he was simply helping her because she had too much to drink. Lao Mo was aware of Tian Qiuzi’s departure from her previous company, but as a profit-oriented person, he didn’t care about her personal life. Lao Mo valued her professional knowledge and resources, hoping she could bring benefits to the company. Ning Yue began preparing a backup plan for herself.

She rented an apartment for her mother and instructed her not to answer Hu Cheng’s calls. Her mother sensed that something was wrong, but Ning Yue reassured her that she could handle the situation. Meanwhile, Xiao Ma was caught following Ning Yue, but Hu Cheng refused to give up monitoring her. He then assigned Hu Zibo to keep an eye on Ning Yue and Qin Can, focusing on whether their relationship developed further.

At Hu Ziyuan’s school, there was an in-person sports activity. Hu Cheng expressed his desire to attend with them and even presented a new qipao for Ning Yue to wear. She complied with his request. At the event, they participated in a blindfolded obstacle course. Normally, the fathers would guide the mothers, but this time, Ning Yue suggested reversing the roles, with fathers being blindfolded instead.

Other parents supported the idea, so Hu Cheng had no choice but to cooperate, though he disliked not being in control. In the end, they lost the game, and Ning Yue felt that Hu Cheng didn’t trust her, as he refused to follow her instructions. Frustrated, Hu Cheng left angrily. Hu Cheng’s father also began making changes. He started cooking, though his food was a bit too salty.

However, his grandson’s encouragement gave him confidence, and he decided to learn more from his wife. Watching this newfound harmony between his parents, Hu Cheng was surprised. Seeing his father, a stubborn old-fashioned man, become happy under Ning Yue’s praise made Hu Cheng begin to reassess Ning Yue. Ning Yue had improved the relationship between Hu Cheng’s parents, leaving him astonished. When he asked how she did it, Ning Yue didn’t elaborate.

To his surprise, his parents began urging him to show Ning Yue basic respect and to stop restricting her freedom. Even his father advised him to treat Ning Yue better. Hu Cheng was shocked to see that, in just a few days, Ning Yue had managed to change the deeply ingrained habits his parents had held for decades.
