Lao Mo went to Hu Cheng’s company and discovered that Hu Cheng was indeed not there. At that moment, Hu Cheng was at the hospital visiting Zhou Wei, who was in a depressive state, lacking energy. Tian Qiuzi called Hu Cheng, but he didn’t answer. In fact, Tian Qiuzi was trying to inform him that Lao Mo was heading to the company to check on things. Now, Lao Mo began to doubt himself.

Tian Qiuzi saw a court summons and learned about Ning Yue’s divorce case.

She thought about helping Hu Cheng make a comeback and was determined to stay by his side. Through Mu Xiao’s assistant, Ning Yue found out that the person helping Hu Cheng hide his money was Ruan Meiying. This was the same person who had deliberately approached her outside Hu Ziyuan’s school. However, Ruan Meiying wasn’t married to Hu Cheng. Mu Xiao had been assisting Ruan Meiying with her divorce from her ex-husband, who was not Hu Cheng either.

Nonetheless, the most unforgettable relationship in Ruan Meiying’s life was with Hu Cheng. Both Ruan Meiying and Hu Cheng came from impoverished families. Hu Cheng would regularly give her a portion of money, and in return, she would help him keep his assets hidden—wealth that Ning Yue knew nothing about. Ruan Meiying wasn’t a bad person. She had been waiting for the moment Hu Cheng’s company ran into trouble. When it finally happened, she left behind the money that rightfully belonged to Ning Yue.

When Hu Cheng tried to transfer funds from his account to save his company, he discovered that there was no money left in the account. Hu Cheng’s company was collapsing. Many employees were preparing to resign, and his former friends were deliberately keeping their distance. Hu Zibo had initially planned to accept help from Mr. Xu, but Hu Cheng reprimanded him, as Mr. Xu was known for being shady. Hu Zibo had even signed a contract with Mr.

Xu, which meant that if Mr. Xu got into trouble, they wouldn’t be able to escape unscathed. Hu Cheng explained that during his past dealings with Chen Mingzhang, there were no binding contracts. So if trouble arose, all he had to do was pay back the money. However, Hu Zibo was turning into a version of Hu Cheng himself. To achieve his goals, Hu Zibo was willing to do anything.

Hu Cheng started to regret his actions and didn’t want Hu Zibo to follow in his footsteps. He urged Hu Zibo to act with integrity. But it was already too late for Hu Zibo to turn back. It was revealed that it was Hu Zibo, not Hu Cheng, who had hit Mu Xiao with his car. This wasn’t under Hu Cheng’s orders; Hu Zibo had made the decision on his own. At the same time, Ning Yue uncovered evidence showing that the car involved in hitting Mu Xiao belonged to Yaofeng Technology.
