Because Yun Mu was jealous, he couldn't sleep that night, tossing and turning. Su Ruofei was also unable to sleep due to feeling misunderstood and uncomfortable. They called Xiao Qi to relay their frustrations to each other, leading to an argument between them. Xiao Qi, overwhelmed by the situation, pushed aside the screen to let them argue it out, but surprisingly, the two ended up going to sleep instead.

To find out what kind of person Yun Mu liked, Su Ruofei secretly sneaked into his study and discovered that a portrait there looked familiar—almost identical to her own. She immediately suspected it was a trap. The next day, when Su Ruofei arrived at Huan Le Fang, Yun Mu came along too. Su Ruofei noticed that the girls were all dressed like her, because Jin Shangyu had publicly declared that he liked her the day before.

Su Ruoshan intentionally pulled Su Ruofei aside and asked if her crush was Jin Shangyu. Su Ruofei shook her head, but Su Ruoshan didn't believe her and thought Su Ruofei was lying. Later, after Su Ruofei left, Su Ruoshan deliberately told Yun Mu that Su Ruofei's crush was Jin Shangyu, planting seeds of doubt in Yun Mu’s mind.

Huang Ying knew that Su Ruofei’s favorite was the drum, so she pretended to want to see it but ended up smashing the drumhead with a punch. Yun Mu was furious and warned Huang Ying that if she did it again, she would be disqualified and expelled from Huan Le Fang. Jin Shangyu took Huang Ying aside to reprimand her and asked why she had acted so angrily.

Huang Ying admitted that she was upset because Jin Shangyu liked Su Ruofei. She pointed out that the other girls had dressed like Su Ruofei because they knew Jin Shangyu liked her. Huang Ying sarcastically criticized Jin Shangyu for not having the courage to confess his feelings, suggesting that he was afraid of losing Su Ruofei and might even worry about not being friends in the future.

Huang Ying asserted that Jin Shangyu lacked the courage to confess, whereas she herself could openly express her feelings. Jin Shangyu seemed to be jolted by this and decided to gather his courage to confess to Su Ruofei. He hoped she would accept his feelings, but Su Ruofei responded that she already had someone she liked. Yun Mu then arrived and tried to pull Su Ruofei away.

Jin Shangyu accused Yun Mu of being loved by many, and Yun Mu boldly confessed his own love for Su Ruofei in public, hoping for a response. Su Ruofei nodded and admitted that she liked Yun Mu. Yun Mu then kissed Su Ruofei deeply, and Su Ruoshan, witnessing this, felt an intense jealousy. Jin Shangyu quietly left. On their way home, Su Ruofei felt shy, and Yun Mu hoped she would perform well and not disappoint him during the selection process.

Su Ruofei agreed, but then an elderly man deliberately bumped into Yun Mu. Though the man’s lips moved, he made no sound, seemingly testing Yun Mu. Fortunately, Su Ruofei noticed and warned Yun Mu, ensuring no flaws were exposed. Su Ruofei later asked Xiao Qi to investigate and learned that someone had intentionally tried to test Yun Mu.

The man was sent by Lord Huang, who suspected Yun Mu had a problem with his hearing but had no evidence to prove it. He was afraid that mentioning it might make Yun Shang not believe him. Yun Mu planned to repair Su Ruofei’s drum using the skin of the Ling Xiao drum, a treasured war drum kept by his father.

As the country was at peace, the drum had not been used, and Su Ruofei was touched to learn about its origin. She vowed never to speak ill of Yun Mu again. That night, Yun Mu noticed that Su Ruofei was still awake despite seeming to be asleep. Su Ruofei stopped pretending and asked about Yun Mu's relationship with Su Ruoshan.

Yun Mu explained that he and Su Ruoshan were good friends, and he had been saved by her many years ago. He promised to share their story with Su Ruofei when he had the chance. He had also visited Su Ruoshan to find out who Su Ruofei liked. Su Ruofei felt reassured, and Yun Mu couldn’t help but kiss her. The next day, as Su Ruofei arrived at Huan Le Fang, she was immediately surrounded by a group of people.

Before they could say anything, Yun Mu stepped in to protect Su Ruofei, announcing to everyone that Su Ruofei was his fiancée and his most cherished one, making it clear that Su Ruofei should not be bullied. Su Ruoshan was enraged upon hearing this news. She felt that Su Ruofei was certain to win and that there was no comparison between them. Nonetheless, Su Ruoshan was determined to win.

When the room was empty, her restless alter ego emerged, urging her to continue dealing with Su Ruofei and not let her efforts go to waste. Su Ruofei took out the “Xiang Si Yin” piece and invited Huang Ying to join. Huang Ying agreed graciously, and the previous awkwardness was gone, though Jin Shangyu was still working on his emotional skills and hadn’t emerged yet.

At this point, Su Ruoshan approached Su Ruofei privately, pleading with her to let Yun Mu go. Su Ruofei responded that she couldn’t make decisions for Yun Mu regarding feelings, as love couldn’t be transferred. Su Ruoshan proposed a shared relationship, but Su Ruofei rejected this as well. From then on, Su Ruoshan harbored even more resentment toward Su Ruofei.
