Su Ruoshan heard that Su Ruofei had received the invitation, which unsettled her to the point that she couldn't continue her performance and asked everyone to leave. She knew that this time, there was no turning back between her and Su Ruofei. Xu Hao came to Su Ruoshan seeking reconciliation. His wrist had been broken by Yun Shang, and the diagnosis was confirmed by Imperial Physician Zhang.

Through him, Xu Hao learned that Physician Zhang was treating Su Ruofei and suggested they take the opportunity to sabotage her treatment. Su Ruofei’s injury didn’t improve but worsened, raising Yun Mu’s suspicions. He demanded a consultation from all the imperial physicians. Fearing exposure, Imperial Physician Zhang sought protection from the musician involved but found that the musician was indifferent to his fate. When Zhang tried to leave, Huang Ying caught him.

The imperial physicians conducted a joint consultation and, fortunately, discovered the issue in time, confirming that Su Ruofei could still be treated, though it would take time. At this point, Huang Ying brought in Imperial Physician Zhang, who explained that he had been blackmailed due to his involvement in selling medicinal materials. He had been forced to deliberately insert the needle incorrectly, worsening Su Ruofei’s condition. He knew Xu Hao was following someone’s orders but didn’t know who.

Su Ruofei guessed it must have been Su Ruoshan. Yun Mu comforted Su Ruofei, assuring her that she would recover. When Huang Ying was about to leave, Jin Shangyu persuaded her to stay. Though Huang Ying stubbornly insisted on leaving, Su Ruofei and Yun Mu both came out to ask her to stay. Pretending to be reluctantly convinced, she agreed but emphasized that her staying had nothing to do with Jin Shangyu.

Xu Hao returned to Su Ruoshan, reporting the information he had gathered. He told Su Ruoshan that even if Su Ruofei’s hand healed, it would take a hundred days, meaning she would surely miss the Nine Rites Feast. He also revealed that Yun Mu was deaf, something Su Ruoshan pretended to be surprised by, though she had already known from Yun Mu himself.

The two of them conspired to make this known to the public, believing that no one would agree to let a deaf person become their lord. Lord Liang sent an invitation to Yun Mu, inviting him to a gathering that included over a dozen city lords. Yun Mu was about to find an excuse to decline when Hou’er and Shi Yi arrived, mentioning rumors circulating in the streets that Yun Mu was deaf, which they found unbelievable.

Xiao Qi believed the rumors had been spread by someone close to them, but Yun Mu suspected it was Yun Shang's doing. Since the assassination attempt, Yun Shang had been lying low, perhaps having figured it out back then and was now using this opportunity against him. Thus, Yun Mu couldn’t refuse the invitation, and Su Ruoshan offered to accompany him. At the gathering, Yun Mu deliberately brought up the rumor about him being deaf.

Everyone hurriedly denied it, but one female city lord, her face covered by a veil, spoke in a deliberately hushed voice. Su Ruofei used a hand bell to pass messages to Yun Mu, allowing him to respond flawlessly. To test him further, they had a girl play the pipa, deliberately making mistakes in the music. Su Ruofei quickly signaled the errors to Yun Mu, who pointed them out.

Su Ruofei then feigned illness to leave, and Yun Mu took the opportunity to escort her out, leaving the lords to speculate that the rumors might have been false. After learning about the test, Yun Shang was puzzled as to how Yun Mu could have heard the conversation, especially since one of the city lords had spoken with her face veiled. Then, he suddenly realized that his earlier analysis was wrong.

It wasn’t Xiao Qi who had been passing messages; it was Su Ruofei. However, he couldn’t yet figure out how she was doing it. Yun Shang planned to test them again at the Nine Rites Feast, this time ensuring that Su Ruofei and Yun Mu couldn’t appear together. Meanwhile, Su Ruofei’s injury had fully healed, and Yun Mu placed anklets on her, giving her an exotic look. Su Ruofei and her band were now ready to make a grand performance.

The musicians from Fantasy Music Hall and Greenlight Music Hall jointly performed the song "Triumphant Song," with Fantasy Music Hall starting first. Su Ruoshan didn’t believe that Su Ruofei could defy fate today and played her part with extra force. She couldn’t resist glancing at Su Ruofei, who was clutching her wrist, causing Su Ruoshan to inwardly rejoice. The "Triumphant Song" was composed in two parts. Madam Yaoshan had originally created it for a lord going to war.

Su Ruofei was responsible for playing the first half, and the second half was also Su Ruofei’s part. Su Ruofei took off her shoes and used the anklets to play while dancing, showcasing her talents.
