Echo of Her Voice Episode 24 (Ending) Recap
> Echo of Her Voice Recap
Su Ruoshan dressed herself as the Grand Music Master, preparing to replace Su Ruofei. Meanwhile, Yun Shang had already stated that he had deployed ten thousand troops outside the city, demanding the removal of Yun Mu from his position as the Right Hand. Yun Mu swiftly appeared behind Yun Shang, reminding him that it wasn't too late to stop. However, Yun Shang showed no intention of doing so.
At Yun Mu's command, archers released a volley of arrows, killing Yun Shang's men. Xiao Qi also stood guard with his sword in front of the lord and lady. Just as Yun Shang was about to signal his troops outside the city, Yun Mu informed him that they had already been controlled. It turned out that Jin Shangyu had noticed an unusual number of strangers at Fantasy Music Hall.
He threw a steamed bun at them and realized, from their swift reactions, that they weren’t from the Hall. To avoid alerting the enemy, he quietly informed Yun Mu, who then laid a trap to surround them. Yun Mu and Yun Shang started fighting. Seeing that things were going wrong, Su Ruoshan was in disbelief. Jin Shangyu stepped in to assist Yun Mu.
Yun Shang threw something at Yun Mu, and Xiao Qi prepared to shoot an arrow to kill Yun Shang. However, the lord pushed Yun Shang aside, saving both Yun Mu and Yun Shang, and ordered Yun Shang to be taken away for questioning. Su Ruoshan attempted to ignite the explosives, but Su Ruofei informed her that the explosives had already been cleared.
Su Ruoshan, on the brink of madness, declared herself the Grand Music Master, demanding that everyone bow to her. Her behavior was erratic, and Su Ruofei’s eyes filled with tears. The lord lamented that he had treated Yun Shang no differently than his own son, yet Yun Shang had treated him this way.
Yun Shang, however, felt that the lord had disregarded his feelings for Su Ruoshan when he arranged for her to marry Yun Mu in order to secure Yun Mu’s position as the Right Hand. He also recalled a previous promise that the position would be passed to him and that he would be nurtured for it, but once Yun Mu was born, Yun Shang was exiled to Yunyao.
Now, the lord was still planning to pass the position to his son, even though his son was deaf. Hearing this, Yun Mu revealed the truth he had been hiding for years. His deafness was caused by an assassination attempt twelve years ago, and there had been several more attempts since. The lord was shocked that his son had suffered so much.
Yun Shang claimed he had never intended to kill Yun Mu until the arranged marriage with Su Ruoshan, as he didn’t want her to marry Yun Mu. The lord ultimately spared Yun Shang’s life but demoted him to a commoner. Yun Shang pleaded to take Su Ruoshan with him, but Yun Mu informed him that Su Ruoshan had already gone mad. After Yun Shang was taken away, Yun Mu knelt and confessed his guilt for having deceived his father.
However, his father didn’t blame him, stating that Yun Mu’s courage and wisdom in foiling Yun Shang’s plot showed that he would make an excellent lord. Huang Ying pressed Jin Shangyu about how they would resolve their relationship, but Jin Shangyu still hadn’t decided, which infuriated Huang Ying. She turned to leave, but as she walked down the street, she couldn’t help but glance back, only to find that Jin Shangyu hadn’t followed.
Just then, Jin Shangyu’s voice called out from behind. He looked at Huang Ying with deep affection and tenderness, telling her he had come to give her his answer. Together, they left gracefully. Hou'er and Shiyi also planned to leave, as Su Ruofei, now the Grand Music Master, would not return to the Greenlight Music Hall. Su Ruofei promised she would never give up on them.
She then announced that she would delay the marriage proposal and planned to take the Greenlight Music Hall on a tour. Yun Mu was concerned that the journey would take too long, especially since he couldn’t bear the idea of Jin Shangyu spending too much time with Su Ruofei. Su Ruofei explained that Jin Shangyu and Huang Ying had already left, which reassured Yun Mu.
Reluctantly, he agreed but made her promise to write to him no matter where she went. Su Ruofei expressed concern about Su Ruoshan’s whereabouts, as no one had found her yet. At this time, Su Ruoshan, disheveled and dirty, wandered the streets, telling children to call her the Grand Music Master. She sat on the ground, pretending to play a konghou as if it were right in front of her. The children mocked her, calling her crazy.
Yun Shang, however, complimented her playing and introduced himself as Su Ruoshan’s husband. Su Ruoshan, delighted, grabbed Yun Shang’s hand, wanting to go home. This scene was witnessed by Xiao Qi, who now had news of Su Ruoshan. Six months later, Xiao Qi brought a letter from Su Ruofei. Yun Mu, eager to see Su Ruoshan, bid farewell to the lord and set out with Xiao Qi for Yunyao to find Su Ruofei.
Along the way, they heard nothing but praise for Su Ruofei. Her Greenlight Music Hall had just arrived in Yunyao, so they were fortunate enough to see it. Outside the Hall, crowds of people gathered. Jin Shangyu and Huang Ying were also there for their final performance. Dressed in a red robe, Su Ruofei leapt onto the rooftop, with a waist drum tied around her waist, just as when they first met.
Yun Mu quickly flew up to embrace Su Ruofei. He had missed her dearly during the past six months and vowed never to let her leave again. Su Ruofei, however, told him that today she wanted to propose, hoping to become Yun Mu’s wife. Yun Mu, smiling broadly, responded to the proposal with a kiss, sealing their engagement.
