Miss Mystery Episode 13 Recap
> Miss Mystery Recap
Zhu Guanwen said that he had always known that Mayor Dou was involved in shady dealings, but he never expected that they would be involved in something as morally reprehensible as opium. Zhu Guanwen mentioned that his mother had a strong aversion to opium, even though there was not much of it circulating in the town. It was highly likely that this place was just a transit point. Zhu Guanwen warned Lin Bao'er not to act recklessly, as this matter might implicate his father. Therefore, he emphasized the importance of not taking hasty actions.
Zhu Guanwen took the initiative to find the authorities and revealed the situation to them. Soon, the officials arrived at the dock to inspect the goods. Lin Bao'er intentionally tried to prevent them from inspecting. The new inspector and Zhu Guanwen also joined the scene. Mayor Dou appeared unfazed, even allowing them to open and inspect the cargo. Upon inspection, it turned out to be canned goods, indicating that someone had swapped the opium. Dou Lili taunted Lin Bao'er and Mayor Dou claimed that this batch of goods was meant for shipment to Shanghai. Dou Lili started to shift the blame onto Lin Bao'er and even pulled on her clothes. Zhu Guanwen immediately shielded Lin Bao'er from them. Mayor Dou pretended to be a good person but accused Lin Bao'er of manipulating Zhu Guanwen behind the scenes.
Afterward, the reporters left, and Zhu Guanwen led Lin Bao'er away. When they got back, Zhu Guanwen apologized to Lin Bao'er, saying it was his lack of preparation. However, Lin Bao'er did not blame him and noted that Mayor Dou was too cunning, and they should not have acted so impulsively. Zhu Guanwen never felt that the actions he took were unnecessary and expressed that Lin Bao'er meant everything to him. He also assured Lin Bao'er that she wasn't fighting alone; he was with her.
Lin Bao'er suspected that someone had tipped off Mayor Dou in advance, having seen a scene involving Dou Lili and a reporter.
