Recap

The seventeen-year-old girl, Yun Chaoyan, returned to her hometown of Qingzhou to pay respects to her parents. Due to her ability to see things that others cannot, she was chased outside the city by the renegade immortal, Dao Huang. After helping Dao Huang fulfill his wish, Yun Chaoyan hurried to the Moon Worship Ceremony, but due to the interference of "Night Messenger" Imperial Censor Ren Shique, she was unable to complete the ritual.

Yun Chaoyan had to return to the Yun family estate to pay respects, but on the bridge, she was pushed onto Ren Shique's passing boat by Dao Huang as a token of gratitude. The appearance of the renegade immortal in the water frightened Yun Chaoyan, causing her to leap into Ren Shique's arms, making the renegade immortal disappear instantly. Yun Chaoyan was then driven off the boat by Ren Shique.

The Yun estate had become a charnel house, and the charnel house matron allowed Yun Chaoyan to stay. Ten years ago, on the night of the Full Moon, Yun Chaoyan, who had been blind since childhood, unexpectedly regained her sight during a sudden fire but lost her family. That night, plagued by nightmares, Yun Chaoyan decided to go to the Imperial Censor's residence to find Ren Shique, only to discover that Ren Shique had a pair of eyes that seemed eerily familiar to her.

Yun Chaoyan found Ren Shique, hoping to find out if he was the Lunar God who had given her eyes ten years ago. However, Ren Shique vehemently denied it and sternly expelled Yun Chaoyan from the Imperial Censor's residence.

The renegade immortal, Lin Nian, reappeared seeking help, but Ren Shique tore apart the daylily handkerchief. In fact, Ren Shique is the Lunar God. Ten years ago, on the night of the Full Moon, he shattered the Soul Lamp to release his birth mother, only to have her attempt to gouge out his eyes.

Yun Chaoyan returned to the charnel house and met Deputy Censor Xie Guichen. Feeling warmth from him, Yun Chaoyan decided to help Lin Nian once more. During the Lu family's top scholar's ancestral rites, she sneaked into the Lu residence with the help of Xie Guichen to meet the old Madam Lu. The old madam revealed the truth of the past, and Lin Nian's obsession dissipated.

Ren Shique arrived at the Lu residence to find the old Madam, and witnessed Yun Chaoyan helping the renegade immortal resolve his regrets. Yun Chaoyan saw a red-clothed renegade immortal beside Ren Shique and used this as a reason to stay by his side.

Lin Nian returned to the Soul Lamp, causing the Qingzhou moon phases to reappear, and Ren Shique's eyes showed signs of regaining vision. Yun Chaoyan seized the opportunity to claim credit and seek entry into the residence, informing Ren Shique that she had seen a red-clothed renegade immortal by his side. However, she was once again sternly rejected by Ren Shique.

The city lord learned that Yun Chaoyan had returned to Qingzhou and warned Ren Shique to keep his distance from her, as Yun Chaoyan had once stayed at the city lord's residence and brought about many disasters.

During the talent selection event in Qingzhou City, the candidate Zi Xi went missing, and rumors spread among the people that it was because Ren Shique had offended the Lunar God. To resolve the incident, the Imperial Censor's residence posted notices seeking the help of capable individuals. Yun Chaoyan boldly took up the challenge but was stopped by Ren Shique.

Unwilling to give up, Yun Chaoyan tried both soft and hard tactics to request entry into the residence, but Ren Shique remained unmoved. In a desperate moment, Yun Chaoyan revealed Ren Shique's true identity. Ren Shique threatened to gouge out her eyes, scaring her away.

Determined to enter the residence, Yun Chaoyan mustered the courage to go to the Talent Garden late at night to find the renegade immortal. While she was engrossed in her investigation, a hand suddenly tapped her shoulder from behind.

Yun Chaoyan encountered Xie Guichen, who was also investigating the case, at the Talent Garden. When the two split up to search, Yun Chaoyan rescued Zi Mo, who was being threatened by a female renegade immortal. Yun Chaoyan returned to the Imperial Censor's residence to inform Ren Shique that the disappearance case was related to the renegade immortals. However, she unexpectedly learned from Xiao Guigui that Ren Shique was actually the Lunar God Changxi!

Determined to follow Ren Shique, Yun Chaoyan investigated the disappearance of Zi Xi with the help of Deputy Censor Xie Guichen and discovered it was related to a fire incident from years ago. The candidate Yi Ling had died in the fire, resenting her sister Tian Yu for abandoning her. She then hid Zi Xi, who had a similar fate.

Yun Chaoyan brought Tian Yu, and the sisters cleared up the misunderstanding, resolving Yi Ling's obsession. At this moment, Jing'an Hall caught fire again. After rescuing Zi Xi and Zi Mo, Yun Chaoyan became trapped and was saved by Ren Shique. With Yi Ling's spirit appeased, the moon phases updated, and Ren Shique's vision became even clearer.

Xiao Guigui reminded Ren Shique that he should honor his promise to let Yun Chaoyan into the residence.

Yun Chaoyan entered the Imperial Censor's residence as a servant. The princess, who had a contentious relationship with Yun Chaoyan since childhood, heard the news and was convinced that Yun Chaoyan brought misfortune, disrupting her selection plans. She intended to teach Yun Chaoyan a lesson.

The princess sneaked into the Imperial Censor's residence at night and fought with Xie Guichen, but she was defeated and fled. Ren Shique, seeing Xie Guichen getting close to Yun Chaoyan, inexplicably felt displeased and sternly ordered Yun Chaoyan to stay away from him. Yun Chaoyan requested protection from Ren Shique, who deliberately made things difficult by saying that only if all the withered flowers bloomed again could she stay.

The renegade immortal Dao Huang used magic to make the flowers bloom. Ren Shique was about to intervene but stopped silently after hearing Yun Chaoyan's sigh. The princess held a martial arts contest to find a suitor, and Xie Guichen accidentally participated, defeating the princess and winning her affection.

Dao Huang deliberately played tricks to scare Yun Chaoyan. In her fear, she barged into Ren Shique's room seeking protection, only to find him partially undressed. After getting soaked in the rain and returning to the charnel house, Yun Chaoyan fell ill. The red-clothed renegade immortal took advantage of her weakness to possess her body.

The "Yun Chaoyan" who came to the Imperial Censor's residence called Ren Shique "Xi'er."

Ren Shique recognized that the current "Yun Chaoyan" was actually his mother, Kui Ji, who had once tried to gouge out his eyes. Kui Ji begged for forgiveness, and Ren Shique questioned why she had tried to harm him, sensing that she had some hidden difficulties.

Yun Chaoyan woke up in Ren Shique's arms, and he asked her to become his personal attendant, on the condition that she find out the reason behind Kui Ji's actions years ago. Yun Chaoyan readily agreed.

The princess obtained a beautiful mirror from other ladies at the Xiaoxiang Pavilion. The mirror contained a renegade immortal that enticed people with their appearance, gradually influencing the princess. Yun Chaoyan saw the renegade immortal beside the princess on the street and ran back to the Imperial Censor's residence seeking protection.

Ren Shique initially wanted Yun Chaoyan to accompany him to the Moon Worship Ceremony, but when he saw Xie Guichen coming to see her, he became jealous and refused to go with her. At Xie Guichen's reminder, Yun Chaoyan recalled her past with the princess and decided to help her.

The princess attended the Moon Worship Ceremony in full dress, deeply under the influence of the renegade immortal. Yun Chaoyan tried to snatch the mirror from her but failed.

Yun Chaoyan refused to give up. She investigated the patterns on the mirror and discovered that the renegade immortal was formerly a seamstress named Jing Ting from Jingyi Pavilion, learning about her past. Meanwhile, the princess, under the influence of the renegade immortal in the mirror, became increasingly haggard and mentally unstable.

Yun Chaoyan brought Master Fangqin from Jingyi Pavilion to the city lord's residence. She identified the bronze mirror as Jing Ting's relic, but the princess ignored the warnings. Yun Chaoyan then disguised herself as a maid and sneaked into the city lord's residence to swap the bronze mirror, getting frightened by the renegade immortal in the process. Fortunately, Ren Shique arrived just in time.

Using the Ruyi Phoenix Bird pattern left by Jing Ting before her death, Yun Chaoyan resolved her obsession, and Jing Ting returned to the Soul Lamp. The princess, dressed flamboyantly, regained her senses while walking down the street, feeling ashamed. Fortunately, Xie Guichen helped her.

After the ordeal, Yun Chaoyan, who had been tormented by the renegade immortals, was finally able to sleep peacefully beside Ren Shique. Yun Chaoyan asked Xiao Guigui for details about Kui Ji and tried to console Ren Shique, but he reprimanded her for meddling.

Feeling guilty, Yun Chaoyan drank to excess, hoping to provoke Kui Ji into possessing her body. Seeing her in such a state, Ren Shique felt both guilt and heartache.

Ren Shique and Yun Chaoyan's relationship began to improve. Yun Chaoyan felt delighted when Ren Shique said he was her talisman, yet she reminded herself not to develop improper thoughts about him. The next day, to distance himself from Yun Chaoyan, Ren Shique assigned her to work at the Light Armory.

A maid named Ping Ting from Xiaoxiang Pavilion found a hairpin and was haunted by a female renegade immortal after wearing it. On her way back to the charnel house, Yun Chaoyan found the fallen hairpin and was chased by the renegade immortal up a tall tower, only to be rescued by Ren Shique, who was worried she might be scared going home alone.

The two investigated the origin of the hairpin and discovered that Master Qi seemed to be hiding a secret. The renegade immortal Hui Xin reappeared, and following her hint, Yun Chaoyan followed a woman named Rou'er, secretly kept by Master Qi, to Xiaoxiang Pavilion. There, she discovered that Rou'er was looking for the lost hairpin, realizing with shock that Hui Xin might have been killed by Master Qi.

Yun Chaoyan infiltrated the Qi residence and overheard Master Qi's secret about poisoning his wife using the hairpin. Suddenly, a renegade immortal appeared, startling Yun Chaoyan, and she was discovered by Master Qi. Ren Shique, informed by Xiao Guigui that Yun Chaoyan might have gone to the Qi residence again, rushed over and rescued her from the household servants.

Encouraged by Ren Shique, Yun Chaoyan revealed the truth about Master Qi poisoning his wife in front of everyone and presented the hairpin to clear Hui Xin's name and resolve her obsession. The renegade immortal Hui Xin was finally laid to rest.

Back at the residence, the relationship between Yun Chaoyan and Ren Shique warmed up again, and Ren Shique attempted to steal a kiss from Yun Chaoyan but failed. Xiao Guigui, trying to help, mentioned that Yun Chaoyan had gone to the lantern festival with Xie Guichen, which made Ren Shique jealous and angry.

Yun Chaoyan felt unhappy that the lantern festival ended abruptly due to the renegade immortal's interference and became even more despondent, thinking that perhaps she was like a renegade immortal to Ren Shique. Suddenly, there was a noise outside the window. When Yun Chaoyan opened it, she saw Ren Shique standing high up in the tree outside.

Ren Shique used the excuse of inquiring about the lantern festival to find Yun Chaoyan. Yun Chaoyan complained about seeing a renegade immortal today and not being able to enjoy herself, then invited Ren Shique to admire the moon together.

Late at night, a young female renegade immortal appeared again, waking Yun Chaoyan and begging her to help find her lover from her previous life. The renegade immortal turned out to be Miss Jia Wanwan from the Jia family. Yun Chaoyan hesitated to agree, but Wanwan pointed out that Yun Chaoyan liked Ren Shique. Feeling guilty, Yun Chaoyan denied it but reluctantly agreed to help upon seeing Wanwan intentionally getting close to Ren Shique.

Recently, the Jia family had been making a fuss in the city by inviting a Western shaman to find a husband for their late granddaughter. Jingyao, after passing the exam, came to propose to Wanwan, only to find out she had long since passed away. Wanwan was anxious and asked Yun Chaoyan to stop the shaman. Xie Guichen, having picked up the shaman's jade pendant, was trapped in the Jia residence. Yun Chaoyan sought Ren Shique's help but was refused.

Yun Chaoyan had to go alone to persuade them and was tied up in the Jia residence woodshed, mistaken for Jingyao's envoy. She managed to escape and search for Xie Guichen, only to see Ren Shique dressed as a groom.
