Mr. & Mrs. Chen Episode 11 Recap
> Mr. & Mrs. Chen Recap
Chen Jiaping entered the café and immediately started beating up Gao Fang. Liu Wuchang, who was about to act, withdrew his gun, swiftly settled the bill, and left. Following them into the café were Zhao An and Er Badao. Zhao An deftly retrieved a letter from Gao Fang's pocket, and Er Badao intercepted Gao Fang. Zhao An was confident it was the secret letter, but upon opening it, they discovered it was a love letter written to Zuo Shuangtao. Er Badao excitedly read the cheesy contents, and Gao Fang denied writing it. Two hours earlier, Chen Jiaping had been trailing Zuo Shuangtao and overheard Liu Wuchang planning for her to assassinate Gao Fang. Seizing the opportunity, Chen Jiaping staged a scene of catching them in the act. The performance was flawless, even fooling Gao Fang, who unwittingly admitted to writing the letter he had stolen from Zuo Shuangtao.
Zhao An's plan backfired, and he shifted the blame onto Er Badao, leaving inconspicuously himself. Afterward, Chen Jiaping met with Zuo Shuangtao, and he had a rough idea of the situation. Initially, Guoguo was supposed to assassinate Shan Xia Wufu to obtain the secret letter. However, the letter was taken by someone unknown, leading Guoguo to suspect Chen Jiaping of taking it. Unexpectedly, Gao Fang took the letter and used it to blackmail her into a date. The performance escalated, and the newlyweds had a heated argument, allowing Chen Jiaping to slap Zuo Shuangtao and giving her a reason to leave. Chen Jiaping didn't pry into Guoguo's affairs, solely concerned with her safety. As the curtain falls on this act, Zuo Shuangtao is leaving Shanghai, while Chen Jiaping needs to stay behind undercover.
In recognition of Zuo Shuangtao's merits, Liu Wuchang refrains from dwelling on her unauthorized actions. They board a ship, leaving Shanghai for Jiaxing, and then changing course to Nanjing. Chen Jiaping hands the partially translated secret letter to Lao Lu, and he can stay once the crisis is over. The Chongqing peace talks are just a pretense; in reality, it's not peace but a form of betrayal. Therefore, Chen Jiaping's upcoming mission is crucial. Luo Guanqun already considers Chen Jiaping as one of his own. Recently, Feng Qi has been elusive, and Luo Guanqun overheard Mu Cun Jian San and Zhao An mentioning the name Jiang Zhaoguo. Through Liu Cheng, Chen Jiaping finds a reporter named Xiao Jin and learns that Jiang Zhaoguo was once Han Lu's mysterious boyfriend, although this news is two years old.
Jiang Zhaoguo, formerly known as Xiao Jiang, is now the Deputy Director of the Asian Division of the Foreign Affairs Department in the Chongqing government. He represents the Chongqing government in secret peace talks with the Japanese Prime Minister, but these talks face opposition from the Japanese military, which considers the representatives targets for assassination. Chen Jiaping shares this information with Han Lu, mentioning that she's being followed by Zhao An's people. His intention is to gain her trust, but Han Lu still doesn't reveal anything about Jiang Zhaoguo. Back home, Han Lu calls Jiang Zhaoguo, explaining that she's being followed and can't help him rent a house. Jiang Zhaoguo isn't upset and says he shouldn't have involved her.
Liu Wuchang disobeys orders, not staying in Shanghai to protect the representative of the secret peace talks. When Zuo Shuangtao wants to return to Shanghai, Liu Wuchang discovers and shackles her ankles with an iron chain. To divert Zhao An's attention, Han Lu enlists an actor to act with her, making Zhao An think the person is Jiang Zhaoguo. Chen Jiaping finds Han Lu again, exposing her seemingly flawless plan and explaining the danger of such actions. Han Lu chooses to believe him and moves into the hotel arranged by Chen Jiaping through Liu Cheng. However, she doesn't inform Chen Jiaping about the upcoming contact with Jiang Zhaoguo in two days. After the river thaws, Liu Wuchang goes to obtain the required epidemic prevention certificate according to the boatman's instructions.
