Han Lu disregarded Chen Jiaping's advice and, at great risk, returned to her original house. She received a call from Jiang Zhaoguo and noted down the address he mentioned in a notebook, but it only had three characters, "Fuxu Road." Feng Qi, who was waiting for an opportunity, captured Han Lu and took her in for interrogation. In Liu Wuchang's absence, Zuo Shuangtao knocked out Xiao Wu but found no key on him. She spotted a radio and thought of sending a distress signal to Gao Fang using the radio. Zhao An interrogated Han Lu, and upon receiving a photo of Jiang Zhaoguo, he realized that Han Lu had someone impersonate him to divert attention. Consequently, he arranged for Feng Qi to guard her at home and apprehended Han Lu. Even if Han Lu didn't confess, Zhao An had a way to find the hidden Jiang Zhaoguo, and when that happened, Han Lu would have no way out.

Upon receiving a telegram, Gao Fang hurried to the riverside and found Zuo Shuangtao trapped on a boat. He was about to assist her when Liu Wuchang returned. Zuo Shuangtao and Gao Fang joined forces, disarmed Liu Wuchang, and demanded the keys from him. Zuo Shuangtao then used the keys to unlock the chains, and together with Gao Fang, they escaped. When the hotel staff noticed Han Lu was missing, they immediately informed Chen Jiaping and Liu Cheng. The two decided to search Han Lu's house for clues. Seeing the disarray and the torn telephone cord, Chen Jiaping speculated that Han Lu returned home to wait for an important call. With Gao Fang's assistance, Zuo Shuangtao obtained a codebook and sent a telegram to her superiors using the radio. Out of confidentiality, Gao Fang tactfully mentioned going to work.

Er Badao searched Fuxu Road but couldn't find Jiang Zhaoguo. Zhao An, risking a gunshot, reported to Mu Cun Jian San and was held at gunpoint for quite a while. Upon his return, he interrogated Han Lu again. Despite Han Lu's silence, Feng Qi was about to use force when Luo Guanqun, along with the military police commander, Lieutenant Colonel Naita Naoki, arrived to intervene. Naita took Han Lu from Zhao An's custody. Chen Jiaping, taking advantage of getting Han Lu's signature, obtained important information from her about 72 Alp Road and 2 PM. Zuo Shuangtao, taking a yellow cab, returned near Taihe Trading Company and witnessed the scene where Han Lu signed for Chen Jiaping. Luo Guanqun called Chen Jiaping, giving him two photos and asking him to find the Japanese man in the pictures.

Feng Qi applied for a work-related injury claim from Chen Jiaping, who stated that it was his and Zhao An's unauthorized actions and didn't qualify as a work-related injury. Feng Qi tried to argue but was dismissed by a few words from Zhao An. Zuo Shuangtao returned to the company and, on the rooftop, threatened to jump, circling back to why she came back. Chen Jiaping decided to go with the flow, knowing that Zuo Shuangtao had already prepared a reason for her return. Lao Lu handed the deciphered secret letter, which turned out to be of significant value, to the organization. It was sent by a military intelligence agent codenamed "Dayan" who had infiltrated Yan'an, containing information about Yan'an's economic and financial situation. Though not highly classified, it caught Shan Xia Wufu's attention, indicating the importance of this agent named "Dayan."

Regarding the reason for her return, Zuo Shuangtao glossed over it, avoiding the main issue. Chen Jiaping could tell she wasn't telling the truth, but he didn't press further. From the bottom of his heart, he was happy that Guoguo had returned, even though this happiness would be accompanied by many dangers in the future. Chen Jiaping also had concerns, worrying that Lao Lu might bring up the issue of him leaving again.
