After returning home, Chen Jiaping had to be on constant alert against Zuo Shuangtao. On Sunday, both of them claimed to have business, but in reality, they were on the same mission—observing 72 Alp Road. Zhao An, following Naita Naoki's instructions, suspended Feng Qi's job and had him bring Han Lu's notebook. Chen Jiaping changed into different clothes and pretended to be a staff member to enter the office area of the building. Meanwhile, Zuo Shuangtao, on the rooftop, used a small mirror to observe the conversation between Jiang Zhaoguo and the Japanese inside the building. Zhao An, using the notebook, discovered imprints of Han Lu's previous writing and skillfully traced the characters "72 Alp Road" with a pencil. Er Badao didn't understand but thought Zhao An was quite skilled.

Chen Jiaping intentionally spilled hot water, adjusted the gas pipe to make it smaller, causing Xiao Zhang, responsible for serving tea and water, to temporarily leave the meeting room. Chen Jiaping then disguised himself as a water changer and entered, eavesdropping on some of the negotiation content. Simultaneously, Zuo Shuangtao, on the rooftop, noticed Zhao An's action team arriving. Intentionally, she used a hand grenade to destroy the team's vehicle. The massive explosion alerted everyone, and Chen Jiaping realized that Zhao An had brought people, so he immediately hid. Jiang Zhaoguo instructed Xiao Duan and Du Chun to escort the Japanese representatives, Imamura and Nobumoto, to leave first. He needed to return to his room to retrieve important documents.

This return trip became a tight grip for Zhao An. Even with the hand grenade deliberately thrown by Chen Jiaping, Jiang Zhaoguo was still caught by Zhao An's men. In a critical moment, Zuo Shuangtao, dressed as a nun and driving a car, suddenly appeared and threw a hand grenade towards Zhao An's group, swiftly rescuing Jiang Zhaoguo. Zhao An was bewildered; there were no nuns in the trading company, indicating that the person was from Jiang Zhaoguo's side. He recalled that there were two Japanese representatives who hadn't left yet and was about to check when a car drove out in front of them, leaving the villa. Er Badao and Zhao An's men were stunned; the people in the car seemed to be the two Japanese representatives, and they had escaped. Zhao An gained nothing from this operation and was close to failure.

Zhao An and his team searched the villa, pulling Chen Jiaping out from under the bed. They immediately took him for interrogation. Chen Jiaping crafted seamless reasons to answer Zhao An's questions, mentioning Luo Guanqun's secret investigation and resolution, implicating Luo Guanqun. Zhao An was furious; even if the car wasn't blown up by Chen Jiaping, his unauthorized actions might have alerted Jiang Zhaoguo, leading to the failure of the ambush operation. Luo Guanqun stepped forward, advising Zhao An not to quarrel with his own people and to think about how to salvage the situation. Outside the villa, Zhao An's men found a miniature camera on the lawn, but there was no film inside. Zhao An had reasons to suspect that Chen Jiaping was Meihua Four, using the miniature camera to photograph the documents inside the safe.

Intentionally, Chen Jiaping told Luo Guanqun that Zhao An had captured one of Jiang Zhaoguo's subordinates, and once they found this person, they would have leverage. Zhao An ordered his men to bring everything they found on Chen Jiaping. He believed that the film might be hidden in Chen Jiaping's lipstick. Dramatically, he had the curtains pulled, but there was no film in the lipstick. Zhao An's efforts were in vain. Jiang Zhaoguo asked Zuo Shuangtao to pass a message to Han Lu, inviting her to meet at a bar. Before meeting Han Lu, Jiang Zhaoguo encountered Shan Xia Wufu. After meeting Shan Xia Wufu, Jiang Zhaoguo finally met Han Lu, and she felt relieved hearing about his experiences.
