On one side, Zuo Shuangtao and Liu Wuchang were having a conversation, while on the other side, Chen Jiaping was at the park, passing information to the organization through a park bench, confirming that he was responsible for Mu Kimura Kensan's death. Chen Jiaping drove to pick up Zuo Shuangtao, and together they analyzed the whereabouts of the formula. Although they didn't reach a conclusion, Chen Jiaping could sense her increasing disappointment and resentment towards the Military Statistics Bureau. Perhaps there was room for further cooperation. They both went to work at the business, and Qian Xiucai urgently informed them that Mu Kimura had died, and the memorial service was about to begin. The new commander would also be visiting. Luo Guanqun cautioned Dama Shao to store the goods in the warehouse first and emphasized the need for caution in their actions. Regarding Mu Kimura's death, people's thoughts were diverse.

Qian Xiucai wanted to make himself known to Lieutenant Colonel Naoshita, but was rebuked by Zhao An before retreating. However, Qian Xiucai was observant and noticed Zuo Shuangtao's nervousness. Chen Jiaping held her hand to comfort her. Lieutenant Colonel Naoshita brought Zhao An to the gendarmerie headquarters. Zhao An reported to a superior officer, who ordered him to report directly to him for future work related to the Cedar Plan. Jiang Zhaoguo's whereabouts were exposed, and he suspected that Han Lu had betrayed him, which made Han Lu feel wronged. After explaining the situation, Jiang Zhaoguo dispelled his suspicion and had Han Lu return to Shan Xia's side to work as his informant. Han Lu brought Jiang Zhaoguo to meet Guo Yun, a man she had unintentionally rescued from Japanese soldiers, but this man was mentally disturbed.

Jiang Zhaoguo detected the scent of a chemical solvent on Guo Yun and suspected his involvement in counterfeiting. Zuo Shuangtao wanted to obtain the sewer distribution map of Shanghai, which was now located at the Japanese gendarmerie headquarters. She asked Chen Jiaping for help. Chen Jiaping requested permission from the organization to use the Military Statistics Bureau to investigate. The Parrot approved Chen Jiaping's actions but warned him not to reveal his identity. Soon afterward, Chen Jiaping met Lu Fangfang and took the opportunity to photograph the sewer distribution map information from her bag. During this process, he unexpectedly noticed Shan Xia and Lieutenant Colonel Naoshita walking by. He realized that Shan Xia hadn't died, but he had disappeared from the public eye for some time. Was he involved in some conspiracy?

Late at night, Zuo Shuangtao delivered the sewer distribution map to Jiang Zhaoguo and Liu Wuchang. Chen Jiaping followed, intentionally exposing himself in front of Jiang Zhaoguo and Liu Wuchang. Jiang Zhaoguo was highly vigilant and aimed his gun at Chen Jiaping. Zuo Shuangtao quickly stood in front of Chen Jiaping. After some explanation and assurance, Jiang Zhaoguo temporarily spared him and gave him ten minutes to identify the counterfeit money factory's location. Chen Jiaping asked Guo Yun some questions and eventually, by mimicking the sound of a ship's whistle, identified the location of the counterfeit money factory. However, he had one condition for revealing its location: he wanted to participate in the operation alongside Zuo Shuangtao. Jiang Zhaoguo asked him for his reasons, and Chen Jiaping explained that it was to protect Zuo Shuangtao. Ultimately, Jiang Zhaoguo agreed to let him join the operation.

Chen Jiaping analyzed the situation for both of them, concluding that the counterfeit money factory was likely located underground in the military uniform factory. Er Badao provided cover for Chen Jiaping to enter Zhao An's office, creating an opportunity. But Zhao An was prematurely alerted when Er Badao accidentally dropped something. Er Badao kept trying to take him out, raising Zhao An's suspicion.
