Luo Guanqun called Chen Jiaping, instructing him to meet at Huiqing Teahouse without letting Zhao An discover it. Chen Jiaping brought Zuo Shuangtao and noticed that Chen Shugan was following closely behind. Chen Jiaping speculated that, this morning, both Luo Guanqun and Zhao An had been summoned to the Military Police Headquarters, suspecting that Jiang Zhaoguo had betrayed him. Luo Guanqun called him to divert his attention from falling into Zhao An's hands. Upon learning these facts, Zuo Shuangtao was deeply saddened and initially couldn't think of a way to save him. When they reached the stationery store, Chen Jiaping left Zuo Shuangtao there to follow the plan and buy some items. As expected, when they arrived at Huiqing Teahouse, Luo Guanqun claimed that he needed to take Chen Jiaping to the Military Police Headquarters, and Dama Shao had even prepared handcuffs for him in advance.

Zuo Shuangtao returned to Taihe Trading Company, rushed into Luo Guanqun's office, and learned about the Japanese suspicions regarding Chen Jiaping. Zuo Shuangtao found it hard to believe, suggesting that someone might be trying to frame Chen Jiaping and later implicate Luo Guanqun. However, Luo Guanqun didn't care about Zuo Shuangtao's plea as he didn't want to get involved due to Chen Jiaping. Zuo Shuangtao, disheartened, returned home, only to find that her house had been ransacked. She was very distressed and eventually realized that, to clear Chen Jiaping's name, someone else would need to take the blame. She wrote a letter to her superiors, requesting that Luo Guanqun be implicated and the identity of "Red Peach Five" pinned on Zhao An, but as she wrote further, her anxiety increased.

In order to save Chen Jiaping, Zuo Shuangtao worked tirelessly. She first approached her aunt and then sought help from Gao Fang. Gao Fang took care of the tasks she assigned him and obtained the batch of cotton yarn, storing it in the Dongxing warehouse. Er Badao deliberately leaked the location of the cotton yarn to Zhao An, who was sure not to let this opportunity slip by. Luo Guanqun instructed Dama Shao to find goods without letting the Japanese know. Soon after, Er Badao arranged for someone to hijack Luo Guanqun's goods and made Dama Shao believe that Zhao An had stolen them. Luo Guanqun, pondering the situation, decided to have Zhao An take the blame for Chen Jiaping.

Lu Fangfang shared information she had gathered with Zuo Shuangtao, stating that currently, the Japanese had no direct evidence to prove that Chen Jiaping was part of "Red Peach Five." In the Japanese Military Police Headquarters detention center, Chen Jiaping was mistreated by other inmates but eventually retaliated after acting weak. This marked the third incident, and the Japanese authorities transferred him to Room 206, where he shared a cell with Wang Dapu, whom he recognized as "Da Yan," a special agent for the Military Statistics Bureau.

Meanwhile, Zhang Shuyun was beaten by Luo Guanqun. Desperate to escape with Zhao An, she implored Zhao An to meet her at the No. 7 Ferry Terminal that evening without letting Luo Guanqun find out. When Chen Shugan returned, he briefed Zhao An on the situation, revealing that the buyer of the cotton yarn was named Hou Si. Zhao An was confident about handling this batch of cotton yarn and had a plan for transporting it out of Shanghai.

Han Lu inadvertently overheard the audience's criticisms about a movie she starred in, realizing that the supposed full-house attendance had been bought by Shan Xia Wu Fu. Depressed, she didn't want to attend a press conference for a while. However, Shan Xia Wu Fu announced that he intended to propose to her publicly during the press conference, urging her to think it over. After Shan Xia Wu Fu left the room, Teng Tian Xiu Ming entered and informed her that, if she agreed to marry Shan Xia Wu Fu, Jiang Zhaoguo's life would be spared. Jiang Zhaoguo revealed the presence of two special agents, Magpie and Da Yan, to Naoshita Naoki. His mission was to bring back the border currency's formula and plates to Chongqing. Chen Jiaping secretly took the key made by Wang Dapu, turning the tables and making Wang Dapu reluctant to harm him.
