Chen Jiaping reached an agreement with Wang Dapu. He helped Wang Dapu obtain the key from Xicun's pocket and instructed him to remember the key's design. As part of the deal, Wang Dapu had to take Chen Jiaping with him when escaping and provide him with 800 yuan. While the materials for making the key were unavailable, Chen Jiaping discovered that the hardness of peachwood was sufficient to create a key.
