The grand wedding was disrupted, and Shan Xia Wufu naturally became furious. He almost shot Er Ba Dao, but Han Lu pleaded with him, preventing further gunfire. Xiao Douzi approached them, and Er Ba Dao requested not to harm Xiao Douzi. Taking advantage of the distraction, he placed the key in the saddlebag's pocket. Later, Xiao Douzi left and proceeded to the agreed-upon location, but Er Ba Dao didn't manage to leave alive. Chen Jiaping obtained the key and noticed bloodstains, realizing that Er Ba Dao had sacrificed himself. He handed the key to Uncle Hai, knowing that the upcoming mission would be even more challenging.

Qian Chengyi was rapidly rising in status, earning the trust of the Japanese, while Zhang Shuyun had already been abandoned by Uchida and became isolated. She didn't expect that, after all the ups and downs, the one who would have the last laugh would be someone who used to be a gatekeeper.

On the day of the wedding, Han Lu wore a beautiful red wedding dress. All the participants in the operation assumed various roles, blending into different corners of the wedding. Chen Jiaping, disguised as a vegetable washer, served as cover in the kitchen, while Zuo Shuangtao pretended to be a cleaning staff member. Two days before the operation, Chen Jiaping and Uncle Hai discussed the importance of retrieving the copper plate formula, assassinating Shan Xia Wufu, and destroying the counterfeit money factory. The wedding was their only opportunity. Zuo Shuangtao was the perfect choice for assassinating Shan Xia Wufu. Furthermore, they needed someone to cut the power supply at the wedding venue. The two-minute delay for the backup generator's start-up was not a significant issue. For Chen Jiaping and Zuo Shuangtao, two minutes would be sufficient time.

However, plans have a way of changing. Qian Chengyi gave Zhang Shuyun the key to Room 206 for her makeup. She accidentally collided with someone and took the wrong key. By chance, she stumbled upon Zuo Shuangtao, dressed in a wedding gown. Zuo Shuangtao immediately knocked her out, allowing Han Lu to leave first. Qian Chengyi knocked on the door of Room 206 but found it empty. At that moment, the bride had already left, and the room's door was open. He unexpectedly noticed a bloodstain on the floor and then discovered Zhang Shuyun tied up inside the cabinet. He woke her up and pressured her to find out that Zuo Shuangtao was still alive. Qian Chengyi hurried to inform Shan Xia Wufu that the bride was a fake. Zuo Shuangtao couldn't wait for the designated time and had to open fire first. At 7 o'clock, the power was cut off at the wedding venue, and Chen Jiaping, holding the box, left with Zuo Shuangtao.

At the same time, the operation to destroy the counterfeit money factory and rescue the workers and experts commenced simultaneously. Gao Fang sacrificed himself to buy time for Chen Jiaping's escape after cutting off the power. All of these events left Shan Xia Wufu in great fear. He intended to place the copper plate in the safe immediately but didn't realize he was gradually falling into the trap designed by Chen Jiaping. Chen Jiaping's plan wasn't to assassinate Shan Xia Wufu; it was to make Shan Xia Wufu fearful. He then opened the box that he had swapped, and inside was an altered explosive device capable of creating a massive fire to destroy the counterfeit money and border notes that had already been produced, eliminating any future threats. The plan proceeded as scheduled, and Shan Xia Wufu, along with Uchida and the others, faced the explosive bomb in the box, which resulted in their deaths.

Luo Guanqun was still alive, making a living by drawing and selling artwork on the street. However, Qian Chengyi was ruthless and ordered Luo Guanqun's execution. With the assistance of a comrade named Jia Chan, Chen Jiaping and Zuo Shuangtao collaborated in a stealthy operation to quietly eliminate Qian Chengyi. The undercover mission continued but had now shifted its battleground to Hong Kong. In February 1942, Chen Jiaping and Zuo Shuangtao contacted their contact person, Qian Shiying, and received a new code name – "Gong Xi Fa Cai" (Wishing You Prosperity).
