Retired detective Zhao Mingcheng showed great enthusiasm for this case. He would occasionally visit the police station to inquire about the latest information or provide intelligence. Deputy Director Yuan at the police station noticed a flaw and decided to test Zhao Mingcheng. He organized Fu Yaoyao and others to investigate Zhao Mingcheng. Through a clever arrangement, they finally exposed the truth: the person claiming to be Zhao Mingcheng was actually his brother, Zhao Minglei, who was Chai Yuan's ex-husband. The real Zhao Mingcheng, suffering from a terminal illness, was being held captive in a private hospital.
After the truth came to light, Zhao Minglei wanted to escape with Chai Yuan. However, under the surveillance of Fu Yaoyao and Jiang Zuoan, they were ultimately captured and brought to justice. In the interrogation room, they revealed the twisted and bizarre story that had unfolded between them, evoking deep sighs. Although the people they killed were all wicked criminals, the long arm of the law operates justly and without loopholes. Both of them were sentenced to death.
