Lin Hengyu took Xiang Yan aside and actively apologized to her. He shared his childhood experiences, witnessing his parents' unhappy relationship until he met Tan Shishi, which brought about a change. However, just then, Tan Shishi arrived, and Xiang Yan quickly retreated into the room. Tan Shishi said she wanted something from Lin Hengyu, and he was worried that Xiang Yan might regret it. To prevent any misunderstandings, Lin Hengyu opened the door and declared that he and Xiang Yan were in a romantic relationship. Then he left with Xiang Yan. Outside, Lin Hengyu hugged Xiang Yan tightly, but she said she wouldn't run away, so he let go.
Xiang Yan mentioned that they had been deceiving themselves all along, and it was time to end it. Lin Hengyu felt somewhat disappointed, and Xiang Yan told him she was planning to move out. She would take her belongings and settle the rent as soon as possible. Lin Hengyu could only agree. As Xiang Yan was about to return to the room, she saw someone loitering outside her door. She quickly went back and stopped Lin Hengyu, saying her room might have been targeted by thieves. They sneakily went to check, and Lin Hengyu suspected that it might be Lu Nian's secret love interest. Xiang Yan didn't want to interfere, so they left promptly.
Shi Ran learned that Tan Shishi sought out Lin Hengyu because she wanted a child. Shi Ran was willing to help her with that idea. He thought they might end up kissing, but Tan Shishi said he was like a child. Lin Hengyu took Xiang Yan to his room and waited for her. Meanwhile, Lu Nian was in the room, not drunk, but Jiang Qi was completely unconscious. Lu Nian informed Xiang Yan that she was still busy and couldn't come back to the room. In her tipsy state, Jiang Qi suddenly approached Lu Nian, and she thought he might kiss her. She was prepared, but Jiang Qi said he wanted to sleep, leaving Lu Nian feeling disappointed.
Xiang Yan and Lin Hengyu could only sleep in the same bed, back to back with a few pillows in between. Xiang Yan talked about her encounter with Lu Nian and how they had been good friends. In her drowsy state, Lu Nian heard Jiang Qi saying he had never been in love and saw Xiang Yan as a younger sister. Suddenly, Jiang Qi mentioned Xiang Yan's name, and Lu Nian realized that he was the man who proposed to her but got rejected.
Lin Hengyu couldn't help but confess his feelings to Xiang Yan. She said she wanted to move out and give herself an independent opportunity. If Lin Hengyu still liked her at that time, they could try being together. Lin Hengyu couldn't help but laugh. Early in the morning, Xiang Yan woke up to find Lin Hengyu was not beside her, but it was Shi Ran who was there. Shi Ran said he no longer pursued Xiang Yan. His pursuit was just to help Tan Shishi chase after Lin Hengyu, but now it all seemed ridiculous.
Coincidentally, while Xiang Yan and Shi Ran were chatting at a café, Lin Hengyu and Tan Shishi were also there. Tan Shishi explicitly told Lin Hengyu that she just wanted his genes and didn't actually like him, but she wanted to have a child with him. Lin Hengyu refused her directly. Xiang Yan overheard and wanted to leave but accidentally broke a cup. Lin Hengyu rushed over and noticed her injured hand, so he took her to bandage it. Tan Shishi now completely gave up on Lin Hengyu, as he was determined in his feelings for Xiang Yan. Lin Hengyu carried Xiang Yan on his back to leave, and she wanted to inform Lu Nian that she was safe. In the room, they unexpectedly saw Jiang Qi.
