Xiang Yan and He Huan were called to the office, but to their surprise, the chief editor turned out to be Tan Shishi. Xiang Yan didn't know how to address her, but Tan Shishi only talked about work-related matters. She had given them a script she brought from abroad. Tan Shishi helped He Huan become the deputy chief editor for this reason since she was his superior. Xiang Yan shared the strange incident with Qi Pa she encountered with Lu Nian, who couldn't make sense of it. Lu Nian suggested that Xiang Yan attend a nearby supplementary English class.
Lin Hengyu informed Jiang Qi that he and Xiang Yan were pretending to be a couple. Liu Zishuo thought their relationship might turn real. After work, Xiang Yan hurried to attend the English class but forgot her wallet. Tan Shishi found out and offered to help pay for it. Meanwhile, Lin Hengyu prepared everything at home, ready to propose to Xiang Yan upon her return. However, when the doorbell rang, they thought it was Xiang Yan, but it turned out to be Tan Shishi. She came to return the wallet. Tan Shishi had learned from her experiences that life doesn't always go as planned. She said she wanted to end things on a positive note with Lin Hengyu. Lu Nian accompanied Xiang Yan home and saw Lin Hengyu sending Tan Shishi downstairs.
Lu Nian wanted to go up and ask about the situation, but Xiang Yan stopped her. After Tan Shishi left, Xiang Yan went up, and Lin Hengyu hurried to greet her. Xiang Yan didn't know how to face him, and Lin Hengyu mentioned Tan Shishi hugging him. Xiang Yan felt jealous and hastily returned home. Jiang Qi and Liu Zishuo took a walk together, and Liu Zishuo knew that Jiang Qi had someone he liked. When Xiang Yan returned, she saw everything Lin Hengyu prepared but misunderstood that he did it for Tan Shishi. She took the gifts and went straight to the bedroom without giving Lin Hengyu a chance to explain. Liu Zishuo was disinterested in dancing, but Xiang Yan studied English while supervising him. Lin Hengyu took Xiang Yan's mother to meet his teacher because her condition had worsened.
At the hospital, Lin Hengyu also ran into Tan Shishi, who found out that Lin Hengyu brought Xiang Yan's mother to see her father for treatment, but Xiang Yan's mother hadn't told her family about it, so Lin Hengyu respected her decision. Shi Ran started looking for a suitable location on the map, planning to open a shop. Tan Shishi bought many medicines for Shi Ran, as he had stomach problems recently. She also accompanied him in choosing a suitable location for his shop, hoping to help him achieve his dream.
