Tan Shishi was chatting with a client when Shi Ran came over and jokingly declared that he and Tan Shishi were on a date. Lin Hengyu was looking at the paintings Xiang Yan made, and she explained the meaning behind her artwork to him, which made Lin Hengyu feel relieved. The voting results were about to be announced, and Xiang Yan got second place, while surprisingly, Lu Nian got first place. Suddenly, someone said something to Tan Shishi, and Lu Nian seemed to understand what they were talking about.
It turned out that the client wanted to have Lu Nian's university classmate as the author and make Xiang Yan and Lu Nian their ghostwriters. Lu Nian had already expected this outcome. Xiang Yan asked Lu Nian if she liked painting, but Lu Nian didn't answer, revealing her thoughts. Xiang Yan then brought Lu Nian in for a discussion. She asked Lu Nian to introduce the meaning behind her artwork to the author, and Lu Nian's words convinced the author to let her be the real illustrator. Lu Nian's university classmate, Zuma, was very angry, but he left dejectedly. Shi Ran and Lin Hengyu were waiting for Lu Nian and Xiang Yan outside, and Jiang Qi was called over.
When he saw Lu Nian, he hurriedly ran out, but Lu Nian quickly hid. Lu Nian explained to Xiang Yan that she couldn't face Jiang Qi because she might run into someone who bought her paintings in the past. Jiang Qi's mother had bought Lu Nian's painting, but Lu Nian hadn't told her family about it. Xiang Yan greeted Jiang Qi's mother, who thought Xiang Yan was alone and had the person pretending to be a waiter, Lu Nian, bring a doll over. Lu Nian held a large doll to avoid being seen by Jiang Qi's mother. Jiang Qi was wondering why Lu Nian was avoiding him, but Lin Hengyu and Shi Ran told him not to worry. Tan Shishi brought the author for dinner, and Shi Ran went over to take their order, asserting his sovereignty.
Jiang Qi didn't realize their relationship until Lin Hengyu hinted at it, and Jiang Qi said he had a guidebook for pursuing girls, which he could give to Shi Ran. After dinner, Shi Ran followed Tan Shishi and the author until they reached the ground floor, then he left. Shi Ran thought the author wanted to pursue Tan Shishi, but she quickly explained that their relationship was only work-related, which put Shi Ran at ease. Unbeknownst to her, Tan Shishi had actually developed feelings for Shi Ran, but she hadn't confessed yet.
Lu Nian brought her illustrations to the company for presentation, and everyone was very satisfied. Lin Hengyu took Xiang Yan's mother to the hospital again, but she still refused the operation, and he didn't want to push further. Lu Nian and Xiang Yan had barbecue together and coincidentally saw Lin Hengyu bringing Xiang Yan's mother back. Xiang Yan was surprised to see her mother with Lin Hengyu and asked what they were doing together.
