Under Lu Nian's arrangement, Lin Hengyu went to the bridal shop. Unexpectedly, his aunt secretly followed him. His aunt wanted to witness Lin Hengyu and Xiang Yan's happiness since she had always supported them being together. At home, Lin Hengyu's father accidentally injured his hand while cutting vegetables. He cried out in pain, and his wife coldly helped him bandage the wound. Lin Hengyu's father kissed his wife's hand, hoping they could start over. However, at that moment, someone sent Lin Hengyu's father a message. He let his wife read it, and it turned out to be a message from Guo Qiao, who said she wanted to meet Xiang Yan that night. Lin Hengyu's mother got angry upon hearing this and left the room.
Xiang Yan went to meet Guo Qiao, who asked her to draw the male protagonist in the illustrations based on Lin Hengyu's father. Lin Hengyu's mother suddenly appeared and took Xiang Yan away. Lin Hengyu's mother apologized to Xiang Yan, but Xiang Yan didn't mind the situation.
Later that evening, when Xiang Yan returned home, her parents formally told her that they were getting a divorce. After all, Xiang Yan's parents had been constantly arguing, and her mother even entrusted her to her father. Although her parents were always arguing, Xiang Yan's father didn't want to divorce. However, her mother insisted on it, and Xiang Yan tried to use her impending marriage to persuade her mother to stay, but her mother still chose to leave.
While Lin Hengyu and his aunt were selecting things needed for Xiang Yan's wedding day, Lin Hengyu received a message from his mother saying that his father had gone missing. Lin Hengyu left immediately and, upon learning that his mother didn't know where he was, sought Jiang Qi's help. That night, Shi Ran took the initiative to let Tan Shishi rest in her room. Just as they were about to get closer, Lin Hengyu called asking for Shi Ran and Tan Shishi's help to find his father. Their friends also came to help search for Lin Hengyu's father. After spending the whole night on the rooftop, Lin Hengyu finally found his father. He thought his father might have had suicidal thoughts, but thankfully, he didn't. Lin Hengyu stood with his father, who recounted the first time he disappointed his wife and the gradual process of his affair. Lin Hengyu understood his father but couldn't forgive him. His father now just wanted his wife's forgiveness, but Lin Hengyu knew that forgiving someone was easy, but unlocking someone's emotional barriers wasn't that simple.
The three of them finally sat down to talk about their issues. Lin Hengyu's mother had always wanted to save face, so she maintained the relationship, but now she felt tired and wanted a divorce. Since her husband was the one at fault in the marriage, she wanted a clean break. She was clear about her decision and didn't want to be weak anymore.
