Late at night, Shen Jiangli was packing her luggage, feeling a bit melancholic as she thought about returning soon. Her child, Yan Yan, awoke from a nightmare. He told his mother that he had dreamt of sitting alone in a small boat, feeling abandoned and helpless. Recently, the child had developed feelings for the Lu family, especially for Lu Jingming, and he felt a deep attachment that was hard to let go.
Shen Jiangli reassured her child that Lu Jingming was just a "handsome brother," not his father, and that he shouldn’t always think about staying here. The child, still young, had forgotten his sadness by the following morning. Before dawn, Lu Jingming had already gone to the Golden Scale Guard. There had been an earthquake the previous night, so Lu Jingming immediately went to assess the damage. Before he left, he had his subordinates prepare some things.

Lu Jingming saw that Chu Zimo was well-mannered, exuding an air of refinement, and seemed quite familiar with Shen Jiangli. He couldn’t help but feel a twinge of jealousy.
When they were alone, Chu Zimo told Lu Jingming that six years ago, while traveling, he had encountered Shen Jiangli walking unsteadily in the heavy rain.
