Xia Miaomiao instructed her subordinates to remove Xia Jingxi's belongings from the general manager's office. Enraged, Jingxi was about to confront Miaomiao when Xia Zhengnan entered and sternly rebuked Jingxi. Angered, Jingxi stormed out. Seeing Miaomiao, Xia Zhengnan immediately changed his tone, praising her for her significant contributions to the Xia Corporation. He mentioned that he had long intended for Miaomiao to join the company but respected her dedication to traditional Chinese medicine research.
Inwardly, Miaomiao thought that if she hadn't discovered Xia Zhengnan's hidden secret, she might have believed him. Xia Zhengnan informed Miaomiao that Xia Corporation would host a charity gala, urging her and Leng Zhixing to attend. He also requested Miaomiao to invite Mo Sining, to which she readily agreed.
Jingxi sought out Leng Jiaxuan, asking for his help in regaining the agency rights for HE, her favorite brand. Leng Jiaxuan informed her that as long as the old man (referring to their grandfather) was alive, true decision-making power could only be obtained by occupying the position of chairman. This, however, required a significant amount of money, and he suggested that Jingxi seek Xia Zhengnan's assistance. That night, Jingxi sneaked into Xia Zhengnan's office, hoping to find a solution.
Meanwhile, Miaomiao discovered clues about the car accident from six years ago. Xia Zhengnan had been transferring money to an account under the name Liu Xiaoshan. Leng Zhixing immediately ordered Luo Tian to investigate. Xia Zhengnan, upon learning about the inquiry into Liu Xiaoshan, ordered his silence. Luo Tian tracked down Liu Xiaoshan, and Leng Zhixing rushed to find him. However, Liu Xiaoshan had gone into hiding to escape Xia Zhengnan's pursuit.
Taking advantage of Grandfather's unconscious state, Leng Jiaxuan used a prepared will to obtain his fingerprint. Leng Zhixing learned about Grandfather's sudden fall down the stairs and hurriedly brought Miaomiao to the hospital. After medical treatment, Grandfather's life was out of danger, but he remained unconscious, and the timing of his recovery was uncertain. Leng Zhixing suspected Leng Jiaxuan's conspiracy and warned him not to engage in wrongful deeds again, threatening that he wouldn't be lenient next time.
Leng Jiaxuan, eager to advance the cooperation project in Gaojia Village, instructed his subordinates to proceed regardless of the circumstances. Miaomiao approached Leng Zhixing, revealing that her mother's grave was in the project area, and she requested him to prevent Leng Jiaxuan from digging up her mother's grave. Leng Zhixing told her not to worry and took her to the site. During the journey, Leng Zhixing inquired about Miaomiao's mother. Miaomiao showed him a photo and explained that her mother suffered from a mental illness, and six years ago, after causing a car accident while fleeing, she died.
Leng Zhixing, upon hearing this, was shocked and visibly shaken. He ordered the driver to stop the car and sternly told Miaomiao to get out. Unbeknownst to Miaomiao, six years ago, Leng Zhixing's parents were the ones killed in the car accident caused by Miaomiao's mother, and he himself was injured, resulting in his leg impairment. Miaomiao had been calling Leng Zhixing, but he decided not to answer. The revelation that her mother was responsible for the death of his parents made any possibility of a relationship between them impossible.
