Yuhang, seeing Xia Miaomiao (played by Guo Jiayu) in such distress, comforted her and shared that his cousin, Leng Zhixing (played by Xie Yibo), used to be quite normal. However, his temperament changed drastically since their parents' car accident six years ago. Feeling the need to clear things up, Xia Miaomiao decided to meet with Leng Zhixing.
Unintentionally, she overheard a conversation between her father and Leng Jiaxuan, where they argued about uneven profit distribution. Leng Jiaxuan casually mentioned the incident from six years ago when Gao Xiaolan (Xia Miaomiao's mother) caused the accident that killed Leng Zhixing's parents. Xia Miaomiao learned that her mother died in a conspiracy, and her adoptive father had been using her all along. Now aware of the reason for her breakup with Leng Zhixing, she resolved to investigate the conspiracy behind the car accident and help him uncover the truth.
Xia Miaomiao called Mosnian, expressing her desire to meet him. Upon meeting, she shared her plans to become the general manager of the Xia family's company and also assist Mosnian in obtaining benefits from Leng Group. Wearing a mask, Leng Zhixing agreed, and a deal was struck. Returning home, Xia Miaomiao found her father welcoming, but her mother accused her of getting too close to Mosnian, especially considering she was Leng Zhixing's wife. During dinner, Xia Miaomiao proposed working at the Xia family's company, surprising her father.
At the Xia family, a girl in a wedding dress, Xia Miaomiao (played by Guo Jiayu), was being forcefully pushed to the ground by her sister, Xia Jingxi. Xia Jingxi and the second young master of Leng Group, Leng Zhixing, had a prior engagement, but due to Leng Zhixing's disability from the car accident six years ago, he was unable to perform his marital duties. Xia Jingxi didn't want to marry him and live as a widow, so the family decided to have Xia Miaomiao marry him instead to save the family business. Xia Miaomiao's wedding was desolate, and when she reached Leng Zhixing's room, it was empty. She heard a sound from the bathroom, entered to check, and accidentally slipped, falling into Leng Zhixing's arms while he was bathing.
Leng Zhixing was indifferent to this forced marriage, believing Xia Miaomiao married him solely for the assets of the Leng family. Consequently, he kept her at a distance, not even allowing her on the bed. Leng Jiaxuan, Leng Zhixing's third brother, engaged in constant rivalry with him. Leng Zhixing knew that Leng Jiaxuan was implicated in the car accident from six years ago. Grandfather urged Leng Zhixing to secure his position as the president of Leng Group. This angered Leng Jiaxuan, who was resentful about Leng Zhixing inheriting the position. He informed Leng Zhixing that he had married Xia Jingxi, who had been with him since the age of eighteen, claiming everything about her belonged to him. Leng Zhixing, upon hearing this, grew even more disgusted with Xia Miaomiao.
