In a fit of anger, Liu Rong went to Su Jinning's mansion to drink. Xu Muchen went to fetch Liu Rong back home, but was stopped by Su Jinning and subjected to a scolding. Xu Muchen secretly climbed over the wall, entered Liu Rong's room, and carried her back home while she was unconscious from drinking.

The next day, Liu Rong insisted on divorcing Xu Muchen but was persuaded otherwise by him. To quickly find the jade pendant, Mo Yan gave Liu Rong a bottle of truth serum and asked her to secretly put it in Xu Muchen's drink when he wasn't paying attention.
