Shen An'an was cooking at Lin Yao's house, and Lin Yao rushed over to help. Their intimate actions gradually deepened their feelings. During the meal, Lin Yao secretly held Shen An'an's hand under the table. Shen An'an felt embarrassed and pulled away when Lin's mother noticed. After dinner, Lin Yao accompanied them as they left, and he asked Shen An'an if she had time tomorrow. He expressed his constant desire to see her and asked when he could openly hold her hand. Shen An'an said she wasn't ready yet and rejected Lin Yao's straightforward confession. Disappointed, Lin Yao told her he was willing to wait until she no longer cared about others' concerns and accepted him.
During the weekend, Ren Yiming returned home and took Ren Xinyi out to play. Shen An'an was at home thinking about Lin Yao's confession and couldn't help but call him. Shen An'an missed Lin Yao but couldn't express it clearly. Lin Yao thought something had happened to Shen An'an and rushed to her house. Shen An'an told him she planned to buy some potted plants and asked if he wanted to go for a walk together. Lin Yao was delighted and, while shopping together with Shen An'an, they ran into Liang Yuan. Lin Yao complimented Liang Yuan for being cute, and Shen An'an admitted that she could praise him but he couldn't. Lin Yao sensed Shen An'an's jealousy, but Shen An'an awkwardly made an excuse and left.
Since Ren Yiming wanted to watch a soccer game in the evening, he returned home early with Ren Xinyi. When Ren Yiming saw Lin Yao, he asked him to stay and watch the game together. Later, when Lin Yao left in the evening, Ren Yiming asked him seriously if his feelings for Shen An'an were genuine. He believed that Lin Yao was still young and could be tempted by many things around him. Lin Yao acknowledged that it was Ren Yiming's actions that had hurt Shen An'an and firmly stated that he wouldn't let her get hurt.
In the morning, Ren Yiming prepared to leave, and Ren Xinyi bid him farewell. She asked if he had time to accompany her to her handicraft class. Ren Yiming was hesitant because he had an important meeting that day. Ren Xinyi told him that if he couldn't come back, she could go to Uncle Lin Yao. Hearing this, Ren Yiming felt sad but told Ren Xinyi to first confirm Lin Yao's availability. After Ren Xinyi went back inside, she called Lin Yao on Shen An'an's behalf, asking if he had time to accompany her to the handicraft class. Lin Yao gladly agreed.
Ren Yiming returned to the employee dormitory to organize files, and Shi Yue suddenly called him. When Ren Yiming saw her name on the incoming call, he decisively hung up. Unbeknownst to him, Shi Yue was in the dormitory next to his. Shi Yue noticed that Ren Yiming didn't answer her call and smugly said that he couldn't hide from her. During Ren Xinyi's handicraft class, Lin Yao kept his promise and accompanied her. Some parents who didn't know their family situation started spreading rumors upon seeing Lin Yao, but he stared back at them without reservation. After school, the three of them held hands and went out to eat, creating a warm scene. Lin Yao went to Shen An'an's workplace and asked if she had time in the evening because he had something to tell her.
Ren Yiming went to the car dealership and told Shen An'an about Shi Yue's situation. To avoid Shi Yue's harassment, Ren Yiming decided to apply for a transfer overseas. Shen An'an was worried that Ren Xinyi wouldn't accept it, so Ren Yiming suggested they have a meal together and find time to appease Ren Xinyi. Eventually, with Ren Yiming's persuasion, Ren Xinyi accepted the fact that Ren Yiming would be unavailable for their weekend plans due to overseas work.
Lin Yao originally wanted to invite Shen An'an to watch a play and left the admission ticket on her table. However, Shen An'an was preoccupied with Ren Xinyi's matters and didn't notice the ticket, forgetting about her promise to Lin Yao. Lin Yao stood alone at the door until the end of the play, feeling disappointed. Lin Yao thought Shen An'an had received the ticket and chose to go with Ren Yiming. The next day at the company, without even changing his clothes, Lin Yao sternly questioned himself about when he would become important in her heart. After speaking, Lin Yao realized he had lost control of himself and decided he needed some time alone. As he was leaving, Lin Yao received a call from Ren Yiming, who wanted to talk to him because he would be leaving the next day.
