Li Tianran enjoys being alone, but he feels lonely and sad. He loves being around people, but nobody wants to play or talk with him. He also has poor coordination and often falls down, but there's nobody to help him up when he falls at home. Determined to change his solitary life, Li decides to find a roommate through online ads, as suggested by his friend Ji Wawa.

At the same time, Gao Defen, a high-scoring professional, is in need of a place to stay after being evicted by a dishonest landlord. With nowhere else to go, he spends his nights at a fast food restaurant with all of his belongings. Unfortunately, Li's search for a roommate doesn't go well, as he encounters strange and unreliable individuals. Similarly, Gao falls victim to deceitful agents who even rented him a doghouse for an exorbitant price.

Li decides to raise the standards for his potential roommates by creating a list of 100 questions to ask them. Meanwhile, Gao uses his expertise to answer all the questions with perfect scores. They eventually meet at Li's doorstep, where Gao is envious of Li's cozy home and pretends to be there for work purposes. He even boasts about his fast food lifestyle to save face.
