NanGong Jue silently watched as Concubine Jing pasted herself onto Gu Jinyan. He didn't expect her to escalate things by trying to kiss Gu Jinyan. Before Gu Jinyan could react, NanGong Jue sat on her and declared his sovereignty. He ordered those around him to close their eyes and he kissed her. Even when Concubine Jing cried out, there was no response. After Concubine Jing left, NanGong Jue realized that to deal with a green tea, one must use even more tea.
When Gu Jinyan saw NanGong Jue leave her, she couldn't help but touch the place where he had kissed her with a smile on her face. At night, Gu Jinyan curled up and pretended to ask NanGong Jue to sleep with her. She even conscientiously put a pillow between them to create distance. But NanGong Jue threw the pillow on the ground and hugged Gu Jinyan instead.
The next day, while NanGong Jue was away, Wei Yingying frantically searched their room for something. Gu Jinyan didn't ask any questions and instead asked her to help with a favor, taking her to the ghost market to buy a gift for the Empress. When they arrived, Gu Jinyan picked out the gifts and tried to pay, but the shopkeeper inside stopped her. NanGong Jue couldn't find Gu Jinyan and realized that something had happened to her.
