Yang Xian, sensing something was amiss, returned to Madam Li’s house and questioned Du Yangxi and the others. They all reacted unexpectedly and harshly humiliated him. Yang Xian left angrily. Le Shan, upset by how the family treated Yang Xian, was about to chase after him when Shouhua quickly stopped her and revealed the truth. Meanwhile, Chai An sent someone to find Yang Xian, claiming he valued his courage.

Privately, he gave Yang Xian the capital to start a business, promising him ten times the return within three years and pointing him in the right direction. Chai An told Yang Xian that a ship would leave the harbor for Quanzhou that night. He could join the ship and trade goods at sea, although it would be dangerous. Yang Xian readily agreed. After Yang Xian left, Kang Ning stepped out from behind the screen.

It turned out that this was all part of the Li family’s plan: to help Yang Xian learn how to run a business and break free from his spoiled habits. However, Yang Xian, feeling a mixture of homesickness and unresolved family grievances, did not dare to reveal himself to Le Shan. His adopted sister, Yin Yao, planned to meet the Li family. Since Le Shan had fled the scene, Qiong Nu had no choice but to wear a veil and impersonate Le Shan by throwing the embroidery ball at Pan Lou.

During the event, the ball ended up in the hands of Yang Xian’s cousin, who falsely claimed that he had a family matter to attend to.
