Pro Detective – Yang Yi, Li Man

At night, in the eerie atmosphere of a burial mound, a Taoist priest is performing a ritual to guide the spirits. Inspector Huo Qing and her assistant Yan Er, who were sent by the provincial government, happen to pass by and see the deputy director of the Pujiang Town Police Station, Xing Yi, who is under investigation, also present. A group of people are about to bury the deceased when suddenly they hear the sound of ghostly wailing and howling, which becomes even more terrifying in the chilly wind. Everyone thinks it's the ghost of the dead person, and they all run away in fear.

Huo Qing almost trips in the chaos, but Xing Yi quickly catches her and helps her up. They are very close, but in the darkness, no one can see each other clearly. Huo Qing quickly breaks free and runs away. The next day, a nearby farmer who was chopping wood on the mountain suddenly finds a corpse on the side of the road. The farmer reports it to the police, and Xing Yi orders his men to bring the body back to the station for examination and to detain the farmer.

Xing Yi told Huo Qing that Ding Haichuan and his gang were the ones who killed Mr. Zhou's family. It seems that there is an undercurrent in Pujiang Town, and even the police station is involved. Huo Qing asked Xing Yi to continue preparing for the meeting with Feng Datou while she went to ask for information from Liu, the town mayor.

Huo Qing and Xing Yi divided the work. Xing Yi said he would listen to the leader, and Huo Qing gave him a disdainful look and said it was good that he understood. But Xing Yi hesitated to speak, and Huo Qing asked him if there was anything else. Xing Yi mentioned the incident where two people bumped into each other at the door that day. Yan Er asked what happened to the door, and Xing Yi impatiently said it was broken. Then he turned and left, and Yan Er shouted after him that she could help him fix it.

Huo Qing brought Yan Er to find Mayor Liu to understand the situation. After they left, Huo Qing and Yan Er used flashlights to inspect and found that the warehouse in the underground passage was full of boxes of tobacco.

The next day, Yan Er and the police waited at the exit and intercepted boxes of tobacco. Yan Er then had the traffickers taken to the police station and went to find Huo Qing to celebrate. However, Huo Qing's team fell for a trap and the intercepted boxes were empty. Not only that, but those people openly opposed the police and fought with Huo Qing and her team using knives. Thanks to Xing Yi's timely arrival, they quickly gained control of the situation. Huo Qing hugged Xing Yi excitedly. Xing Yi returned Huo Qing's pocket watch and told her that he had successfully infiltrated Feng Datou's inner circle. They exchanged information and he reminded her to stay safe.

Huo Qing was busy at the police station when Feng Datou sent someone to invite her for a meeting, claiming to have clues to report to the government. Huo Qing agreed and went to Feng's house with Yan Er. After some small talk, Feng Datou proposed to cooperate with the government and donate 2000 yuan to support Huo Qing's investigation. Huo Qing welcomed the offer and promised to bring justice to Pujiang Town within a week.

After Huo Qing left, Feng Datou and Xing Yi had dinner together and proudly talked about their plans. Xing Yi pretended not to understand and asked why Feng Datou wanted to donate 2000 dollars to Huo Qing. Feng Datou said he wanted to gain her trust and use her for his own purposes. Xing Yi then asked what would happen if she didn't trust him. Feng Datou pulled out his gun and confidently said he would take care of her. Xing Yi admired him but also expressed concern about the consequences of killing a police officer and going against the government. Feng Datou didn't care and assured Xing Yi that he had the support of foreigners behind him and could do whatever he wanted.

That night, Xing Yi followed Feng Datou's men to the garden, but they disappeared at the rockery. Xing Yi guessed they must have gone into the tunnel and turned back. Huo Qing and Yan Er were walking on the road when they suddenly realized they were being followed. They turned around and saw Xing Yi, who threw a paper ball at them and left without saying a word.
