At night, in the eerie atmosphere of a burial mound, a Taoist priest is performing a ritual to guide the spirits. Inspector Huo Qing and her assistant Yan Er, who were sent by the provincial government, happen to pass by and see the deputy director of the Pujiang Town Police Station, Xing Yi, who is under investigation, also present.
