After Huo Qing left, Feng Datou and Xing Yi had dinner together and proudly talked about their plans. Xing Yi pretended not to understand and asked why Feng Datou wanted to donate 2000 dollars to Huo Qing. Feng Datou said he wanted to gain her trust and use her for his own purposes. Xing Yi then asked what would happen if she didn't trust him. Feng Datou pulled out his gun and confidently said he would take care of her. Xing Yi admired him but also expressed concern about the consequences of killing a police officer and going against the government. Feng Datou didn't care and assured Xing Yi that he had the support of foreigners behind him and could do whatever he wanted.
That night, Xing Yi followed Feng Datou's men to the garden, but they disappeared at the rockery. Xing Yi guessed they must have gone into the tunnel and turned back. Huo Qing and Yan Er were walking on the road when they suddenly realized they were being followed. They turned around and saw Xing Yi, who threw a paper ball at them and left without saying a word. Huo Qing and Yan Er picked up the paper ball and found it was a map of Feng Datou's house. It turned out that the Feng and Sun families were connected by a tunnel.
Chen Xian wanted to buy supper for Mei Niang, but she said it was not safe outside and she didn't want to eat. However, Chen Xian insisted on going out. Huo Qing and Yan Er went to Sun's house again and saw the white-clothed person. They hid and observed, and found out that it was Chen Xian pretending to be mysterious. They then arrested him and brought him back to the police station in front of Mei Niang. Chen Xian seemed very aggrieved until Huo Qing exposed his true identity, and he finally lowered his head.
