Qiu Shuihe knew that in his final moments, it was Xue Ziye who had saved his life, but he felt undeserving of such kindness due to the sins he had committed. In the end, Qiu Shuihe decided to publicly confess the crimes he had committed against Mo Village and apologize to the world.

Before the people of the Dingjian Pavilion took him away, Qiu Shuihe went to the burial site on the back mountain to offer his apologies to the villagers of Mo Village, admitting his guilt. He was willing to accept the punishment he deserved and be scorned by the world, hoping that the spirits of the villagers could find peace. At the entrance of Yaoshi Valley, Qiu Shuihe advised Huo Zhanbai not to blame himself for these events.

Instead, he was grateful that Huo Zhanbai had handed him over to the Dingjian Pavilion. He told him that no matter what he encounters in the future, he must always put righteousness first. Qiu Shuihe then set out with Xia Qianyu and Zhou Xingzhi to the Dingjian Pavilion, while Huo Zhanbai was about to embark on another journey in search of medicine.

Xue Ziye gave Huo Zhanbai a horse that she had spent a fortune on purchasing a few years ago, and she also had someone tell him that the horse was a gift from a patient. Huo Zhanbai drank alone, clearly feeling downcast. Xue Ziye asked a few more questions and learned that there had been an avalanche in Qingling. Her hand, which was in the middle of applying acupuncture, suddenly paused. Huo Zhanbai had been caught in the avalanche, but Xue Ziye's horse had saved him from the snow.

As a second avalanche loomed, Huo Zhanbai mounted the horse with the medicine in hand, but suddenly his vision went dark. He leaned close to the horse's ear and told it to return to Yaoshi Valley. In Yaoshi Valley, Xue Ziye waited day and night for news of Huo Zhanbai, but he never appeared on the road leading to the valley.

One morning, as Xue Ziye was gathering dew, the horse rushed back to the valley, dragging Huo Zhanbai behind it. Panic surged in Xue Ziye’s heart as she hurried back to the valley, where she found Huo Zhanbai unconscious at the entrance. Xue Ziye stayed by his side day and night, treating him. When Huo Zhanbai woke up, he was terrified to find that he couldn't see. Xue Ziye reassured him that it was snow blindness and only temporary.

Calming down, Huo Zhanbai immediately asked about the medicine, but Xue Ziye was heartbroken. She once again questioned whether she should have ever given him the formula, as it had caused him to risk his life and get hurt again and again over the years. It would take three months for Huo Zhanbai’s eyesight to recover, and during that time, Xue Ziye promised to come daily to perform massages for him.
