There was only one last medicinal ingredient left, but it had been lost for many years. Even if they set out to search for it now, they might not be able to find it. Since Huo Zhanbai couldn’t see at the moment, he decided to stay in Yaoshi Valley and rest properly. Huo Zhanbai asked Xue Ziye to fetch his personal belongings, and from them, he took out a hand warmer and placed it in Xue Ziye's hands.

Xue Ziye accepted it, though she pretended to scold him for not repaying his debts. Yet, day after day, she held onto that hand warmer. Xue Ziye was still searching for a cure for Mo’er, perhaps thinking she had overlooked something in the past. Granny Ning saw through it at a glance—Xue Ziye didn’t want Huo Zhanbai to take any more risks, so she had deliberately used a slow treatment method for his eye condition.

Over the years, Xue Ziye had carried guilt for Huo Zhanbai repeatedly falling into danger, but Granny Ning told her that the cure was the hope of all three of them, and it had kept them going until now. With his vision lost, even drinking a cup of water was a struggle for Huo Zhanbai. Hearing some noise outside, he groped his way out of the house.

The path outside was lined with wooden bells, guiding Huo Zhanbai to the medicine hut. Xue Ziye was there brewing medicinal wine for him, and as soon as Huo Zhanbai smelled the scent of the medicine, he hurried over to help. Brewing medicinal wine required snow from plum blossoms, and Huo Zhanbai suggested a method to quickly gather the snow. He then had Xue Ziye gather everyone to try it.

After the containers were set, Huo Zhanbai used his inner strength to shake the snow off the trees. Taking advantage of the moment, he pulled Xue Ziye into his arms, leaving the onlookers stunned. Tong replied that he wanted control of the Xiuluo Arena.

Tong’s wish was granted, and he took charge of the arena. However, at night, he found himself staring absentmindedly at a silver bell hairpin he had picked up at Yaoshi Valley. The sound of the bell seemed very familiar to him. Tong slept so soundly that he didn’t even notice Miao Shui by his side. Huo Zhanbai accidentally overheard that there was a faster way to treat his eye condition, yet Xue Ziye hadn’t used it.

Startled, Huo Zhanbai pressed Xue Ziye to heal his eyes quickly and asked why she had delayed his treatment. The last medicinal ingredient might be impossible to find, even if it cost Huo Zhanbai half his life. Xue Ziye felt deeply conflicted and didn’t know how to respond. In the end, Xue Ziye did cure Huo Zhanbai’s eye condition more quickly. The two of them had known each other for many years, and Huo Zhanbai understood Xue Ziye.

She always had her reasons for doing things, but when it came to Mo’er, the stakes were high. Xue Ziye didn’t send Huo Zhanbai off, as she still needed to visit the village to treat the people there. When the people of Yaoshi Valley arrived at the village, they found it lifeless, with no trace of the villagers. Carefully opening one of the doors, Xue Ziye found poisonous smoke inside and many villagers unconscious.

Hearing noises outside, they quickly shut the door. Xue Ziye overheard Miao Shui and Miao Huo talking about Mo Village and Qiu Shuihe during their mission. Anger surged in Xue Ziye’s eyes. They had the village children with them, so today, they absolutely couldn’t let them leave. Hearing them mention Mo Village, Xue Ziye was desperate to uncover the truth. At that moment, Huo Zhanbai arrived just in time to help.

Seeing the situation, the people from Yuan Yi Palace chose to retreat. Huo Zhanbai told Xue Ziye to return to Yaoshi Valley while he went to save the children. However, Xue Ziye insisted on going with him to uncover the truth behind the village's destruction. Huo Zhanbai reassured her, saying he would definitely find out the truth about Mo Village and rescue Xiao Long and the others. Xue Ziye quickly calmed down.

Inside Dingjian Pavilion, Xu Chonghua was exchanging letters with the Pavilion Master. He advised the Pavilion Master not to send anyone to handle the child abduction case, as the true goal was to assassinate the Pavilion Master.
