Snowy Night Timeless Love Episode 16 Recap
> Snowy Night Timeless Love Recap
Huo Zhanbai, Zhou Xingzhi, and Xia Qianyu met on the way to rescue the children. Huo Zhanbai was worried that with them out of the pavilion, only the Pavilion Master would remain inside, but fortunately, the Pavilion Master already had a plan. Miao Shui was bathing in the house when she heard a noise outside and told Miao Huo to go and check it out. Seizing the opportunity, Xia Qianyu climbed onto the roof and took Miao Shui’s clothes.
After Zhou Xingzhi secretly took the children away, Miao Shui sensed that something was wrong. Meanwhile, Miao Huo had been lured away and encountered Huo Zhanbai, feeling somewhat aggrieved. Huo Zhanbai’s goal was to get information, and sure enough, it was Yuan Yi Palace that had massacred the entire Mo Village and framed Qiu Shuihe for the crime. Before Huo Zhanbai could get all the details, Tong suddenly appeared and engaged in a fight with him.
Seeing the situation worsen, Huo Zhanbai quickly rode away. Zhou Xingzhi sent a letter to inform Xue Ziye that the children had been rescued. For the time being, they were being sent to Dingjian Pavilion, and they would be returned later. However, the letter didn’t mention anything about Huo Zhanbai. During his battle with Tong, Huo Zhanbai was injured and once again rode his horse toward Yaoshi Valley.
Along the way, he tore a piece of his clothing and wrote a message revealing that Yuan Yi Palace was the real culprit behind the village massacre, sending it back to Yaoshi Valley with Xue Yao. When Xue Ziye received the message, she was extremely anxious. She guessed that Huo Zhanbai must have been gravely injured and collapsed somewhere along the way, so she followed Xue Yao to find him, disregarding her own cold illness.
When Xue Ziye found Huo Zhanbai, he was lying motionless in the ice and snow, with a sword wound on his chest still bleeding. Xue Ziye quickly administered first aid, but her cold illness had already flared up, and she needed to return to Yaoshi Valley immediately. However, Xue Ziye had to treat Huo Zhanbai as soon as possible, or he would die right there!
Ignoring her own condition, Xue Ziye took medicine to suppress her cold illness, knowing that the backlash from the medicine would be a hundred times worse after it wore off. Yet, to save Huo Zhanbai, it was worth it. Xue Ziye applied acupuncture to him, but he still didn’t wake up. Terrified, she held his face and angrily scolded him for letting down Mo’er and her, though her voice was full of concern.
Fortunately, Huo Zhanbai made a sound—he was still alive. Huo Zhanbai woke up, but Xue Ziye had been away from Yaoshi Valley for too long and needed to return immediately. Huo Zhanbai rode with her back to the valley, where Granny Ning treated her in the medicine hut. Huo Zhanbai waited outside until Granny Ning assured him that Xue Ziye’s life was no longer in danger and that she would wake up in a few days.
Years ago, Xue Ziye and Xue Huai had drifted to Yaoshi Valley after spending a night in the ice and snow, which left Xue Ziye with a cold illness. Master Liao prescribed a remedy for her, but now the effectiveness of the remedy had weakened, and she could only rely on the hot springs in the valley for relief. After this incident, it seemed that it would be difficult for Xue Ziye to leave the valley again.
Granny Ning’s words filled Huo Zhanbai with guilt, but he didn’t know what he could do for Xue Ziye. So, he spent his days chopping wood and warming her bed. After a while, Xue Ziye finally woke up, and as soon as Huo Zhanbai heard the news, he dropped his axe and rushed over.
He was worried about Xue Ziye’s cold illness, but Xue Ziye lazily lounged on a chair, saying that today was the day the epiphyllum would bloom, and she warned Huo Zhanbai not to make any noise and disturb the flower. As they joked with each other, the epiphyllum bloomed, and Xue Ziye curiously leaned forward to admire it. Huo Zhanbai, however, couldn’t take his eyes off Xue Ziye, telling her not to be reckless next time.
The epiphyllum’s bloom was fleeting, which Xue Ziye found a bit melancholic, but for Huo Zhanbai, as long as they could seize that brief moment of beauty, it wasn’t a regret.
