Huo Zhanbai woke up in Yaoshi Valley once again. Xue Ziye was visibly upset—this time, his injuries were much worse than before. It had taken a lot of time just to patch up all the holes in his body. She even gave Huo Zhanbai a particularly harsh medicine, making it temporarily difficult for him to speak normally. As she spoke, Xue Ziye began applying medicine to the wounds on his face.

After all, he had only one Return to Heaven Token but had been treating his injuries here for eight years. If not for the redeeming features of Huo Zhanbai's face, Xue Ziye would have kicked him out long ago. With the medicine retrieved, Huo Zhanbai was in a lighter mood and more talkative. He urged Xue Ziye to go ahead and refine the medicine. Xue Ziye wanted to explain the truth to him, but Huo Zhanbai interrupted, saying she should just follow her plan, regardless of the medicine's effectiveness.

Xue Ziye’s gaze was filled with sorrow. If one day Huo Zhanbai learned the truth, how would she face him? When Tong woke up, he was highly alert, finding himself in an unfamiliar place. He immediately took Xiao Cheng hostage, threatening Shuang Hong and the others to take him to see Xue Ziye. Xue Ziye arrived just in time, and when Tong saw her, he felt a strange sense of familiarity, both in her voice and appearance.

However, Tong soon fainted again. When he woke up the next time, he was delirious but still instinctively grabbed Xue Ziye by the throat. She was shocked, unable to believe what kind of torment Tong had endured. However, Tong’s emotions became increasingly agitated, leaving Xue Ziye surprised by his reactions.

It wasn’t until she discovered three golden needles embedded in his acupoints that she realized someone had sealed his memories! The needle in his Baihui acupoint was particularly dangerous—removing it could lead to death, leaving Xue Ziye with a severe headache. When Huo Zhanbai started cursing, Xue Ziye finally arrived to treat him. His body was already at its limit.

Xue Ziye advised him not to exhaust himself for others any longer, reminding him that she couldn’t take care of him for his entire life. Upon hearing Xue Ziye say that he needn’t come to Yaoshi Valley anymore, Huo Zhanbai panicked. Hadn’t he already repaid his debt with his life? How could he not return! The first golden needle had been removed, but Tong remained resistant to recalling his past.

Under a plum tree, Huo Zhanbai and Xue Ziye sat drinking amidst the birdsong and fragrant flowers, but Xue Ziye’s mood didn’t seem cheerful. She appeared to be drowning her sorrows in alcohol. Huo Zhanbai performed a sword dance for her, wishing to help her resolve her worries. In order to repay her, he offered to take on the responsibility of protecting Yaoshi Valley, even taking care of all the miscellaneous tasks.

Amidst the beauty of the scene, Huo Zhanbai spoke earnestly about his feelings. For the past eight years, he had awakened countless times in unfamiliar places, only to find himself alone, surrounded by coldness and eerie silence. But now, things were different. There were flowers, wine, snow, and Xue Ziye. That was enough. Xue Ziye asked if he had any regrets after running around so much for Mo'er.

Huo Zhanbai in turn asked her if she regretted anything for Xue Huai. They both silently answered, "No regrets. "The two drank together until the sky darkened. Xue Ziye, now drunk, cursed him as a fool and then guiltily apologized. Huo Zhanbai watched the scene before him—eight years had passed, and it had been a long time since he felt such peace.
