Miao Feng suddenly felt a different kind of emotion, one he hadn’t experienced since practicing Mu Chun Feng. Xue Ziye, weak and unconscious, was swaying as she tried to stand, leaving Miao Feng bewildered. Could it be, as Miao Shui had said, that he was starting to regret his choices?

Huo Zhanbai wrote to his senior brothers, advising them to stay vigilant, and also discovered that the cabin they had once used to rescue the children was, in fact, a hidden post for Yuan Yi Palace, a location that needed to be completely eradicated. After managing these affairs, he prepared medicine for Qiu Shuiyin, but she remained despondent, haunted by her memories.

The Valley Master Liao Qingran sympathized, knowing that the pain of losing a child could never truly be alleviated, not even in a lifetime. The Valley Master prepared some treats that Mo’er liked, seeing them only brought more tears to Qiu Shuiyin’s eyes. She grieved over Mo’er’s lack of playmates, his inability to enjoy a normal childhood, and a life that was tragically cut short.

The Valley Master encouraged her to share her pain, knowing it would ease her heart, reminding her that mother and child are inseparable. Mo’er would never blame her but instead feel hurt by her despair. After this conversation, Qiu Shuiyin began to regain some color in her cheeks and was even willing to eat. Seeing this, Huo Zhanbai finally felt a bit relieved.

Meanwhile, Xue Ziye awoke in an unfamiliar place and heard the tune of Miao Feng’s bili flute drifting from the courtyard—a tune evoking nostalgia for his homeland. Miao Feng mentioned a scratch on his flute, explaining that back then, he was called Yami. He and his sister had learned the song during their escape, but marauders massacred everyone around them, his sister was taken captive, and Miao Feng was left behind.

Xue Ziye noticed that something seemed off about him, realizing that he couldn’t manage his own internal energy, so she hurried to retrieve medicine for him. Miao Feng warned her that she might regret helping him later, but for her, being a healer meant that any regret was a matter for the future. Meanwhile, Tong, along with Miao Huo and Miao Shui, decided to kill Zhang Wujue while Miao Feng was absent.

They had prepared the Dragon Blood Pearl, planning to make Zhang Wujue’s death occur the next day. However, Miao Shui discovered Zhang Wujue’s secret just as it was too late to stop Tong. Tong attacked Zhang Wujue in the main hall, while Miao Huo wreaked havoc outside. Miao Shui unexpectedly turned on Miao Huo, seeking his death to clear her own path. She personally killed Miao Huo.

Inside, Tong’s duel with Zhang Wujue was evenly matched until Tong managed to control him using Tong Shu techniques and then struck him down with the Dragon Blood Pearl. However, the “Zhang Wujue” before him was merely an imposter; he had broken free of Tong’s techniques, while the real Zhang Wujue appeared shortly after. With Miao Shui’s betrayal, Tong was pushed to the brink.

Tong, now poisoned by Shi Hun San, wished for death, but Zhang Wujue spared him, realizing that Tong had regained his memory. He revealed that, in truth, Xue Ziye had never abandoned Tong. They had tried to rescue him, only to be chased by Miao Feng. Tong’s blind eyes shed tears of blood as he laughed bitterly at his fate. Rather than kill him, Zhang Wujue imprisoned him with a fierce mastiff, making him live as his hound.

Later, Miao Shui visited Tong, knowing full well that Zhang Wujue’s earlier appearance had been a ruse but that she was powerless to stop him. Miao Shui wished to learn the secret path to the Armory Pavilion, but Tong refused to disclose it. Huo Zhanbai received responses from his senior brothers, yet no word came from Wei Fengxing. Qiu Shuiyin, aware of Huo Zhanbai’s plan, encouraged him to pursue it without concern for her.

She said that he had done more than enough to protect Mo’er over the years. He harbored feelings for Xue Ziye and deserved a chance to live for himself. Xue Ziye was a good person, and the two of them were well-matched.
