When Xue Ziye discovered the truth about Xue Huai’s death, she ran to confront Miao Feng, heartbroken. He had known all along what he had done to them, yet he kept silent. To obtain the power of the Tong Technique, he had deliberately lured Qiu Shuihe into the plot, burned down the village, and left unscathed. If it hadn’t been for Xue Huai blocking the dart for her back then, she would have been the one buried.

Xue Ziye questioned Miao Feng, asking if it was really under Zhang Wujue’s orders. She then noticed the wound on his arm, but regardless, Miao Feng continued to defend Zhang Wujue. Xue Ziye helped bandage Miao Feng’s wound, and he promised her that as long as she healed Zhang Wujue, she would remain safe.

As the Seven Swords gathered to attack Yuan Yi Palace, they found members of the Eight Stallions of Yuan Yi Palace slain by Miao Feng along the way. Judging by their position, it looked like an intricate needle technique, signaling they had to reach Yuan Yi Palace quickly to prevent any mishaps. Miao Shui went to talk to Tong and deceived him by saying Xue Ziye had been killed, causing Tong to erupt in fury.

Miao Shui also wanted to kill Zhang Wujue and hoped Tong would reveal the location of the Armory Pavilion, to which Tong agreed, but only if she promised to protect his sister, Xue Ziye. Miao Feng had broken the Mu Chun Feng Technique and only retained seventy to eighty percent of his power, making Miao Huo confident he could succeed. Miao Huo went to see Xue Ziye, intending to take her somewhere.

When she noticed Tong’s sword in Miao Huo’s hand, Xue Ziye agreed to go with her immediately. Following Miao Huo, she accidentally spotted a wolfhound wearing the peace lock she had once given Huo Zhanbai for the young Chu’er. Realizing that Zhang Wujue had gathered infants to advance his martial arts, and that the child was now dead, she felt an intense unrest. Arriving at Tong’s confinement area, Xue Ziye was heartbroken to see him in such a pitiful state.

Tong, unwilling to see her, didn’t understand what Miao Shui’s true intentions were, nor why she had brought Xue Ziye there! Miao Shui urged them to bid farewell properly, but in his miserable condition, Tong didn’t want her to see him this way; Mingjie was already dead! Xue Ziye tried to calm him, but as Tong had been poisoned by Soul-Eater Powder, he was doomed to die.

Realizing that Xue Ziye and Xue Huai hadn’t abandoned him, Tong didn’t want to involve Xue Ziye. He begged her to leave the mountain and stop worrying about him! Xue Ziye insisted she would step out briefly. Tong repeatedly pleaded with her not to leave, but she resolutely walked away. Xue Ziye approached Miao Huo, requesting the key as she planned to kill Zhang Wujue herself.

She didn’t want Tong to remain bound like a dog, and she promised that if she had the key, she would cooperate with Miao Huo. With the key in hand, Xue Ziye returned to Tong’s side, treating his injuries and performing acupuncture. Before long, she coughed up blood herself but reassured Tong. The poison had been extracted, and by tomorrow, Tong’s vision would be fully restored.

It wasn’t true that Soul-Eater Powder had no cure; she had used her own body as a conduit to draw out the poison, thus breaking its hold. Tong worried for her wellbeing, but Xue Ziye assured him her cold ailment prevented the poison from fully invading her body. She told Tong to leave when his eyesight returned; after eight hours, he’d regain control of his acupoints. Tong, unable to move, pleaded with tears for her not to go.

But to Xue Ziye, Tong was her only remaining family in the world, and she refused to let him be destroyed in this way. To her, he would always be her younger brother, Mingjie, never changing. Xue Ziye gave him medicine and left after he fell asleep. Miao Shui, upset she had taken too long, discussed with her their plan for tomorrow.

Once Zhang Wujue received his treatment the next day, he would be fully restored, but he debated whether to keep Miao Shui around. During the treatment, Miao Feng had to stay by his side without straying. The schemes within Yuan Yi Palace continued, and Xu Chonghua decided to make his move. Miao Shui was delighted, feeling she had found herself a strong ally.

After Xue Ziye left, Miao Shui released the wolfhound from its cage to devour Tong, but unexpectedly, Xue Ziye had already set up protection for him. Meanwhile, Huo Zhanbai and his companions rested at an inn, and that night, he pondered whether Xue Ziye was already waiting for him beneath the plum tree.
