Furious, He Xianwo raised his sword and struck the Book of Destiny, but the book emitted a powerful light, knocking him to the ground. Kneeling, He Xianwo infused his own blood into the sword in his hand.

He recalled how, on that fateful day, he hadn’t gotten a clear look at Zhao Ming, but he had never forgotten his resolve to slay the gods. Zhao Ming stated that he wished for a world where only the human race existed—this was his lifelong aspiration. He Xianwo responded that it was his aspiration as well. Meanwhile, Xie Xuechen held the lifeless body of Mu Xuanling in his arms. He whispered that Mu Xuanling always found boredom unbearable.

He continued, saying that if she simply slept like this, she would fall into eternal silence. Xie Xuechen begged Mu Xuanling to wake up, promising to take her to see the mortal world if she did. He swore to accompany her in whatever she wished to do, then carried her in his arms, preparing to leave. Suddenly, Zhao Ming began to speak.

He taunted Xie Xuechen, saying that despite ending the chaos and freezing the Void Sea, his supposed victory was a complete defeat. Zhao Ming continued, blaming Xie Xuechen’s arrogance for Mu Xuanling’s death. Xie Xuechen firmly replied that he would not let her die. Mu Xuanling asked what that had to do with him wanting to kill Xie Xuechen. Nan Xuyue explained that he hadn’t understood the reason behind their ill-fated connection until he learned that Mu Xuanling was the Chaos Pearl.

He realized it was a tribulation of life and death—only one of them could survive. Originally, Nan Xuyue had planned to kill Xie Xuechen to protect Mu Xuanling, but Mu Xuanling sacrificed herself for Xie Xuechen instead. After saying this, Mu Xuanling disappeared, and Nan Xuyue desperately begged her not to leave. Nan Xuyue vowed to give his life to Mu Xuanling. He performed a spell on himself, releasing his essence.

The Book of Destiny sensed Nan Xuyue’s actions and recalled how Mu Xuanling had once said he didn’t understand emotions, which was why he had descended to the mortal world. The Book of Destiny took over Nan Xuyue’s body. Feng Yao, believing Nan Xuyue had awakened, was overjoyed, but the Book of Destiny spoke, revealing that Nan Xuyue’s desire for death meant he could not be saved.

When Feng Yao asked who it was, the entity identified itself as the Book of Destiny. Xie Xuechen and Jiang Li made a pact. Jiang Li promised that the spirit clan would no longer cause trouble and would live in peace with the human race. In return, Xie Xuechen vowed that humans and spirits would coexist harmoniously. Xie Xuechen then proposed the election of a new alliance leader.

Based on his observations, Xie Xuechen suggested that Xuan Xin was the most suitable candidate for the position. The other members of the Immortal Alliance agreed. Xie Xuechen confided in Elder Cang, revealing that Mu Xuanling was the Chaos Pearl. He explained that Mu Xuanling had sacrificed far too much for the human race and that she was also the one he loved.

Xie Xuechen entrusted Elder Cang with the management of Yongxue City while he set out to find a way to save Mu Xuanling. Xie Xuechen arrived at the site of the Eternal Lotus, determined to wait for it to bloom so he could meet the Mirror God. He waited through the cycles of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, and finally, the lotus bloomed. Consuming the Eternal Lotus, Xie Xuechen ascended to the Divine Execution Platform and met the Mirror God. He pleaded to return to the moment before the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation was activated to change Mu Xuanling’s fate.
