The Blossoming Love Episode 31 Recap
> The Blossoming Love Recap
A Zhu told He Zhou that although the Linglong Palace looked beautiful, she hadn't seen Zhao Ming for many days. She asked if Zhao Ming was really that busy. He Zhou replied that as the Holy Lord, Zhao Ming’s time belonged to the people of the world, so of course, he was very busy. A Zhu then asked if it wasn’t true that she was the most important person beside Zhao Ming—why was He Zhou so idle?
He Zhou said that he had important duties, but when A Zhu asked what those duties were, he replied that such responsibilities were not to be casually disclosed. He Zhou then suggested that A Zhu play a game of dice with him, offering to wager the most precious thing she had. A Zhu took out the last remaining pastry, explaining that it was her favorite and that she was reluctant to eat it.
He Zhou looked at her with a blank expression and suggested that she wager something ordinary instead. He then asked her to place the gold and silver jewelry that Zhao Ming had given her on the table as her bet. He Zhou won all of her jewelry, but A Zhu had not yet learned her lesson. Just then, Zhao Ming and his guard, A Yan, arrived. Zhao Ming said that He Zhou should teach him as well.
He took off his large signet ring and placed it as his bet. In no time, Zhao Ming won all of A Zhu’s gold and silver jewelry. He Zhou sadly slumped onto the table. Zhao Ming ordered A Yan to issue a decree, banning gambling in the palace from now on.
He told A Zhu that gambling was a bad habit, and A Zhu replied that when Zhao Ming was not around, it was always He Zhou who kept her company. Zhao Ming told her that if she stayed with He Zhou, she would inevitably be led astray. He said he would find a teacher for her to teach her how to read and write. The teacher Zhao Ming referred to was the National Teacher.
A Zhu went to meet the National Teacher. She arrived a little late and asked if the National Teacher was angry, but he assured her it was fine. A Zhu explained that He Zhou had told her to show utmost respect, but she found the National Teacher very approachable. She told him that she felt as though they had known each other for a long time.
Upon hearing this, the National Teacher was very surprised and delighted, as A Zhu was the Chaos Pearl who had accompanied him for thousands of years, and he was the Book of Destiny. The National Teacher continued to stay by A Zhu’s side, carrying with him the memories of their long past. He began teaching her some simple Chinese characters.
He explained that the character for "Heaven" (天) has two horizontal lines above the character for "person" (人), symbolizing that Heaven controls humanity. A Zhu said she didn’t like Heaven. She then brought some pastries to the National Teacher and said that she had made them herself. A Zhu asked if she had made him angry because she was too slow to learn, but the National Teacher assured her that she was very smart and would understand soon.
A Zhu requested that he continue teaching her to recognize characters the next day. The National Teacher said that once someone becomes human, simple joys are enough, and he gave her a brush as a gift. After A Zhu left, the National Teacher tried one of the pastries she had brought. His servant, Zi Chen, came to ask how they tasted. The National Teacher replied that they were sweet, but Zi Chen corrected him, saying they were actually savory.
The National Teacher thought back to his days in the heavens. He and the Chaos Pearl had spent thousands of years together, without any emotions, and had never experienced the joys or sorrows of the mortal world. He then asked Zi Chen why, when he had met someone from his homeland, he hadn’t brought her back, as their elders were full of restrictions and lacked interest.
Zi Chen responded that one’s homeland should be a place of happiness, and if it wasn’t, then there was no reason to go back. Meanwhile, A Zhu was practicing her calligraphy when Zhao Ming arrived. She told him that she knew he followed the path of the Son of Heaven. Zhao Ming replied that the path of the Son of Heaven was not something he had sought; he wished for people to break free from Heaven’s restrictions.
He looked at A Zhu and said he hoped she would live for a long time. A Zhu replied that since she was Zhao Ming’s pearl, she would always be with him. The Emperor of Gods, in search of the Divine Child, ordered his subordinates, Yi, Chi, and Zhan, to descend to the mortal world and search. However, the three of them were unable to find the Divine Child.
They planned to use Zhao Ming for their own purposes and make him help them find the Divine Child. The National Teacher received a divine edict from the Emperor of Gods and showed it to Zhao Ming. Zhao Ming told him to destroy the edict, saying that as long as he was alive, he would never be under the control of the Celestial Tribe.
Zhao Ming was troubled by this matter every day, his brow furrowed, and he couldn’t sleep peacefully. A Zhu noticed his discomfort and asked the National Teacher about it. The National Teacher explained the situation, and A Zhu, feeling that Zhao Ming had it hard, decided to stay by his side. Zhao Ming, seeing A Zhu, felt a sense of peace.
