Inside the borders of the Western Lin Kingdom, the people were suffering, and the common folk had no food to eat. A Yan was sent by Zhao Ming to investigate the situation in the kingdom. Upon arriving at the Western Lin Palace, he overheard a conversation between the King and the God of Desire. The God of Desire suggested that the King start a war to disrupt Zhao Ming’s thoughts on a larger scale.

At that moment, Princess Qingyang of Western Lin arrived, asking her father for medicine. Her father scolded her and ordered her to leave. A Yan reported what he had seen to Zhao Ming, who confirmed his suspicions that it was indeed the gods interfering in the mortal world. Zhao Ming ordered people to quell the unrest and conflicts between the various kingdoms. The God of Desire, seeing that this plan had failed, soon devised another one.

The National Teacher's servant, Zi Chen, happily came to inform him that members of the Celestial Tribe had arrived. They wanted to bestow godhood upon Zhao Ming. The National Teacher dismissed the idea, saying that the divine decree was nothing more than a useless order for Zhao Ming. Meanwhile, the God of Desire came up with a new condition: Zhao Ming had to offer 3,000 children, and in return, she would make him a god.

Zhao Ming took the decree and, with his sword, severed it. To him, becoming a god was meaningless. He then issued an order that any members of the Celestial Tribe who entered Dongze should be killed on sight. With that, Zhao Ming prepared to take action against the God of Desire. The God of Desire turned into a wisp of smoke and fled, warning Zhao Ming that defying the gods would bring retribution.

She returned to meet with the gods Zhan and Chi to discuss their next move. They decided that sending armies from the various kingdoms to confront Dongze would be an effective strategy. Zhao Ming learned of this plan and instructed A Yan to notify the generals to prepare for battle at any moment. A Zhu, bringing food, asked Zhao Ming to eat with her, saying that she couldn’t eat without him.

Zhao Ming replied that A Zhu was only worried that he wouldn’t eat, so she came to keep him company. A Zhu said that nothing could escape Zhao Ming’s notice. She told him that while she didn’t understand many things, she knew that not eating properly would make it hard to solve problems. Zhao Ming told A Zhu that he had to personally lead the battle.

A Zhu understood that there was a difference between a general going to war and a king leading the charge. She asked him if he really had to go, and Zhao Ming explained that in the way of warfare, it was all about tactics and strategy, but more importantly, it was about one’s heart and will. He said that this battle wasn’t just a fight between humans, but a battle against the gods.

Zhao Ming said he had to go, and he had to win. That night, as A Zhu thought about Zhao Ming's words, she felt uneasy. She didn’t understand why she felt this way—was it because she was worried about him or because she didn’t want to part from him? While she was lost in thought, a bolt of lightning suddenly struck. Thankfully, the National Teacher arrived just in time to block it for her.

A Zhu fainted, and the National Teacher gently placed her on the bed. Looking at her, he thought about what she had said before: that as long as she thought of him, she would always be with him, no matter what happened. The National Teacher went to the altar to meet with Gao Tian, telling him not to harm A Zhu. Gao Tian explained that the lightning was a warning for A Zhu, a sign of her emotional attachment.

He asked the National Teacher if he loved A Zhu. The National Teacher replied that he didn’t. Zhao Ming came to say his goodbyes to A Zhu. He gave her a bag of candy, telling her that after she ate it, he would return. A Zhu said she wanted to practice swordsmanship because she wanted to protect Zhao Ming. Two months passed, and A Zhu had written Zhao Ming’s name all over the room.

The National Teacher came to ask if she planned to continue like this. A Zhu said the days without Zhao Ming felt unbearably slow. The National Teacher explained that he had given her the brush so she could write her own life story. A Zhu didn’t fully understand the National Teacher’s words, but he then took her to Zhao Ming’s secret base. The National Teacher asked A Zhu if she truly understood Zhao Ming.

He revealed that Zhao Ming wanted to use her Chaos Pearl’s power to fight against the Celestial Tribe, that Zhao Ming only sought to exploit her. A Zhu said she didn’t remember anything the National Teacher was talking about. She didn’t even know what the Chaos Pearl was, but she only knew that she was A Zhu. The National Teacher then asked if she dared to bet with him.

A Zhu refused, but the National Teacher pulled out a Qiankun Pearl. He explained that this pearl could alter time and space to save Zhao Ming if he was in danger. He insisted that A Zhu had no choice but to enter this bet. A few days later, A Yan came to tell A Zhu that Zhao Ming had been injured. She followed him to the battlefield and found Zhao Ming.

Fortunately, his injuries weren’t severe, and Princess Qingyang was also there. A Yan explained that she was a gift sent by the King of Western Lin after their defeat. A Zhu immediately objected, saying that a person could never be a gift.
