Destiny and Saving Recap

Episode 1 Recap

All things under heaven possess spirit. Within the Kunlun Ruins lies a spiritual stone that can revive the dead and reverse fate, called the Thousand Years Token. Fearing that this divine artifact might incite chaos among the heavens, mortals, and demons, the Celestial Realm sealed it within the Divine Hall under the guard of Bai Yan, the True God.

However, Xuan Yi, the ambitious demon lord of the asura clan from the Demon Realm, attempted to seize the Thousand Years Token to rule the three realms. He led his army in a great battle against Bai Yan. Yu Qing, the high god of the winged clan, was deeply in love with Xuan Yi and ultimately destroyed her own primordial spirit, crashing into the Thousand Years Token with Xuan Yi, resulting in both their deaths.

The war god Bai Yan used his divine power to draw away the Thousand Years Token and protect the beings of both realms. With his primordial cold ice divine power, Bai Yan cast the Thousand Years Token into the Sea of No Regret within the Realm Beyond and sealed it with his own primordial spirit.

From then on, the Sea of No Regret was frozen over for ten thousand miles, and the war god Bai Yan entered a long slumber beneath the ice. Due to this war between immortals and demons, Yu Qing committed the crime of colluding with the Demon Realm. As a result, the winged clan of Mount Danxue was implicated. The Heavenly Emperor expelled them from the celestial registry, stripping them of their divine status.

Grandpa Danhe plucked feathers from the winged clan to craft a feather fan, hoping that Ni Huang could use it to recover Yu Qing's primordial spirit and perhaps restore their place among the gods. However, Hei Ying believed Yu Qing was at fault and caused the downfall of Mount Danxue. Especially since Ni Huang intended to resurrect Yu Qing, they feared divine punishment if discovered.

But Hei Ying was scolded and beaten by Ni Huang, who insisted that her sister only fell in love with the demon lord and committed no crime. If Yu Qing's primordial spirit could be found, the heavens would surely forgive her, allowing her to return to the divine ranks. Everyone supported Ni Huang's decision. Holding the feather fan crafted by everyone, Ni Huang set off to search for Yu Qing's primordial spirit.

She accidentally fell, landing in a place frozen for miles. From beneath the ice, she saw a young man sitting inside. Suddenly, he opened his eyes, leapt out, grabbed Ni Huang by the throat, and questioned why she was there. But before he could tighten his grip, he turned into a dragon and collapsed, looking extremely weak. At that moment, the divine lord Tuo Sang arrived with two young attendants to inspect the area.

They found the barrier of the Realm Beyond intact, though spiritual power still lingered within, and they were momentarily unable to enter. Ni Huang believed the dragon's weakness was due to being frozen too long and used her true flame and a hot spring to heal him. Meanwhile, Tuo Sang reported the current situation of the Realm Beyond to the Heavenly Lord, stating that a divine token was required to enter.

They speculated that the war god Bai Yan might be awakening. The Heavenly Lord then ordered Tuo Sang not to disturb Bai Yan as he reassembled his spiritual power. When Bai Yan awoke, he found Ni Huang lying on the ground in her phoenix form. Curious about how she entered the Realm Beyond, Ni Huang claimed she simply walked in.

Bai Yan was surprised at how easily she managed to enter and became even more curious about the outside world's climate. Ni Huang used the hot spring to let Bai Yan feel the temperature. Bai Yan marveled that after a thousand years, there was finally warmth here. Ni Huang honestly told Bai Yan that she brought the feather fan to summon the primordial spirit, never expecting to end up here. Suddenly, she realized the fan was missing.

It had actually been taken by Tuo Sang, who did not report it to the Heavenly Lord. Hearing a disturbance, Bai Yan immediately froze Ni Huang and went to investigate. Ni Huang, worried there might be a spirit under the ice, broke free and rushed to assist Bai Yan, unaware that he was about to reseal the Thousand Years Token.

The Thousand Years Token began to stir, trying to break free, but was eventually sealed again by Bai Yan and Ni Huang working together. Ni Huang fell unconscious, and Bai Yan, worried, checked on her. She slowly opened her eyes and smiled, saying she had saved him again. To treat her, Bai Yan placed Ni Huang in the hot spring. The two of them were naked, and Bai Yan passed spiritual energy to her.

When they both woke, they were embracing. Ni Huang said she wouldn’t cling to Bai Yan and intended to leave, but Bai Yan refused to let her go without an explanation for why she entered the Realm Beyond. He also promised to return the feather fan. Bai Yan brought Ni Huang out of the Realm Beyond. Upon seeing the war god, everyone bowed in respect. His disciple Qing He had long awaited his return and was overjoyed to see him.

Bai Yan introduced Ni Huang as his new disciple, but Ni Huang disagreed, saying she was his savior. Qing He didn’t believe it—after all, Bai Yan was the war god and needed no saving. Bai Yan paid respects to the Heavenly Lord and received a new battle robe. Tuo Sang was curious about who came back with Bai Yan. Bai Yan lied, saying his disciple was a koi fish from a pond that turned into human form under his guidance.

The Heavenly Lord was not suspicious. Afterward, Bai Yan warned Ni Huang not to speak the truth, threatening that her words could bring disaster upon the winged clan. He sealed Ni Huang’s true form so that others would see her as merely a fish. Ni Huang sincerely explained that she came to find her sister’s shattered primordial spirit and asked for Bai Yan’s help in recalling any memories.

Learning that Ni Huang risked so much just to find her sister pleased Bai Yan—so long as it wasn’t for a man. Tuo Sang came to visit Bai Yan again, bringing the feather fan and saying he hadn’t reported it to the Heavenly Lord. Bai Yan understood but pretended it was just a minor item dropped by a weak deity. Tuo Sang suggested Bai Yan’s young disciple should visit the other deities to introduce herself.

Bai Yan agreed to arrange it after some time. Ni Huang discovered that Bai Yan soaked his feet in Milky Way water and drank various teas for health. When he saw Qing He and Ni Huang, he invited them to join. Ni Huang tried his tea and suddenly burst into tears. Qing He explained it was Lotus Heart Eight Bitterness Tea, which Bai Yan drank daily to maintain his spiritual cultivation because the three realms hoped he would live well.

This left Ni Huang speechless. The next morning, Qing He took Ni Huang to the lotus pond to pick lotus seeds. Ni Huang, afraid of water, tried to avoid going. Qing He accused her of being lazy—how could a fish fear water? She pushed Ni Huang in. Struggling in the water, Ni Huang desperately hoped someone would save her. When Bai Yan found out, he rushed to rescue her.

Qing He admitted her mistake, confused about how a fish couldn’t swim, but suddenly understood why her master brought Ni Huang back. The saddest thing in the world is a bird that cannot fly, or a fish that cannot swim. When Tuo Sang came again, Bai Yan took the opportunity to ask for the feather fan. Tuo Sang grew suspicious of his intentions. Bai Yan lied that Qing He wanted a magic tool.

Tuo Sang agreed to give it after investigating the disturbances in the Realm Beyond. However, Qing He and Ni Huang came by together. Hearing about the feather fan, Ni Huang became agitated, arousing Tuo Sang’s suspicion. Fortunately, Bai Yan quickly sealed Ni Huang’s ability to speak. Knowing Ni Huang was anxious over the feather fan, Bai Yan offered to take her outside for a change of scenery.

Episode 2 Recap

Bai Yan took Ni Huang to see the galaxy, and Ni Huang was in high spirits, thanking Bai Yan. Bai Yan emphasized that Ni Huang should call him “Shifu,” but Ni Huang deliberately disobeyed and insisted on calling him “Bai Yan. ” When Bai Yan turned to look at Ni Huang, he was captivated by her beauty. Tuo Sang went to see Zhenjun to ask if Yu Qing had any blood relatives.

From Zhenjun, he learned that Yu Qing had a younger sister on Danxue Mountain. Tuo Sang took out the feather fan to show Zhenjun, who was shocked and recognized it as something that once belonged to Yu Qing, the first-generation Supreme. This matter soon reached the Heavenly Lord. The Heavenly Lord summoned Bai Yan and Ni Huang for questioning. He directly asked whether Bai Yan had discovered the unusual activity in Lijing Heaven.

Bai Yan denied it, but under pressing questions as to why he was protecting his young disciple Ni Huang, Bai Yan admitted on the spot that he had fallen for her at first sight. The Heavenly Lord was furious, believing that as the War God of the Three Realms, Bai Yan should not fall for a low-ranking immortal. Ni Huang immediately refuted the Heavenly Lord and revealed that she was Yu Qing’s younger sister, not a koi spirit.

Bai Yan spoke up for Yu Qing, saying she had never participated in the betrayal and that Danxue Mountain had endured years of punishment without complaint. Ni Huang came here for her sister, which was an act of kinship and should be understood. Tuo Sang, however, claimed that he feared Ni Huang had ulterior motives and intended to seize the Thousand Years Token. He demanded that she be thrown into the Desolate Abyss.

To protect her, Bai Yan took Ni Huang and fled the scene, but was chased by Tuo Sang and his men. Bai Yan set up a barrier and brought Ni Huang into Lijing Heaven. Tuo Sang ordered his men to report to the Heavenly Lord and declared his intention to take over the responsibility of guarding the Thousand Years Token. Ni Huang was deeply moved by Bai Yan’s protection and expressed her willingness to risk everything for him.

Bai Yan denied having any romantic feelings for her, saying he only acted out of expedience to save her and didn’t want her to repay him in any way. To keep the Three Realms from finding Ni Huang, Bai Yan planned to use his own origin core to seal her spiritual power, making her undetectable. Lijing Heaven had a hidden path to the mortal immortal realm where she could continue cultivating and one day ascend again.

Ni Huang realized that if Bai Yan gave her half his cultivation, he could no longer serve as the War God or protect the Three Realms. No one would respect him anymore, and his life would be filled with suffering. Holding Bai Yan’s hand, she said she didn’t need such sacrifices. She only wanted Bai Yan to live well and continue being the War God. She would take all the blame and punishment.

Just as Ni Huang turned to leave Lijing Heaven, Bai Yan knocked her unconscious and transferred his cultivation to her, thanking her for saving him from the eternal ice and expressing hope that they would meet again in the mortal world. Bai Yan deliberately lured Tuo Sang away and had Qing He escort Ni Huang out. Ni Huang, feeling disappointed, prepared to leave.

But as she was about to go, she heard the war drums from Lingxiao Hall and knew something had happened to Bai Yan. She rushed to the Heavenly Palace and saw Bai Yan enduring a heavenly thunder trial on the Execution Platform. She leapt forward to save him and fought fiercely with Tuo Sang. Because Bai Yan had given Ni Huang half his cultivation, Tuo Sang was no match for her.

Ni Huang revealed her true form as a seven-colored fire phoenix and carried Bai Yan away, stunning everyone. They finally understood how she had broken the seal and entered Lijing Heaven. Even the Heavenly Emperor was fearful of the intensity of this heavenly tribulation—after all, the last time a seven-colored fire phoenix appeared was tens of thousands of years ago. The seven-colored fire phoenix possessed divine power in the form of Sacred Flame Truefire.

Bai Yan feared he could no longer protect Ni Huang. But when Ni Huang activated her true fire, she was overjoyed, feeling that she could find Yu Qing even without the feather fan. Within the fan, her mother’s final message flashed—how Ni Huang’s birth had led to the death of her parents. But they had sealed her true form to protect her, hoping that when she broke the seal in the future, she wouldn’t bring destruction to the world.

The Heavenly Lord sent Tuo Sang to capture the seven-colored fire phoenix but ordered that her life be spared, as he wanted to interrogate her personally. Although Ni Huang now knew the truth, she only wanted to live freely as a little phoenix and hoped to leave with Bai Yan. Bai Yan, however, knew that the Sacred Flame Truefire and the Thousand Years Token resonated with each other, and no one knew whether it was a blessing or a curse.

The Heavenly Lord would not let her go so easily. To assure the Heavenly Realm and take mutual responsibility with Bai Yan, Ni Huang agreed to accept punishment. Bai Yan promised to go with her and take the punishment together. He extracted the Sacred Flame Truefire and was ready to cut out his celestial core. But what truly worried Ni Huang was that she might never remember Bai Yan again.

Bai Yan held Ni Huang and comforted her, saying that as long as he was there, she had nothing to fear. Bai Yan handed Ni Huang over to Tuo Sang but sternly warned that until the Heavenly Lord gave a decree, she must not be harmed in the slightest. Tuo Sang agreed. Then Bai Yan went to request a decree from the Heavenly Lord.

However, Tuo Sang demanded that Ni Huang surrender her origin core, claiming that one Void Cauldron would be enough to make her disappear from the Three Realms forever. He even tried to sow discord, saying this was Bai Yan’s real intention. But Ni Huang refused to believe Bai Yan would ever do that to her.

Bai Yan told the Heavenly Lord about his plan with Ni Huang and his intention to destroy the Sacred Flame Truefire, remove his origin core, and then leave with her. But the Heavenly Lord did not approve. Bai Yan then took a dagger and prepared to extract Ni Huang’s origin core. Ni Huang accepted the pain willingly. But just then, someone came to report that the Void Cauldron Bai Yan had requested had arrived.

Episode 3 Recap

When she saw the Void Cauldron, Ni Huang felt as if her heart had been cut by knives. She believed that Bai Yan wanted her to disappear for the sake of the world, and in a fit of rage, she fought fiercely against the immortals. Bai Yan rushed in without hesitation, even disregarding his own safety to approach Ni Huang, just to stop her from making more mistakes. Tears streamed down Ni Huang's face.

Bai Yan injected his dragon pearl into the back of her neck, fulfilling his promise—sealing her spiritual energy so she could live again as a mortal. From then on, no one in the Three Realms except Bai Yan would be able to find her. The war god Bai Yan fell as a result.

Tuosang, having once witnessed the power of the Thousand Years Token, took advantage of the chaos to strike Ni Huang and seize her core, attempting to steal the Thousand Years Token. However, he was instead devoured by the token's backlash, and his body was incinerated.

After the dust settled, the True Lord punished the greedy Tuosang by stripping him of his immortal roots and condemning him to eternal torment in the Infernal Hell, where he would suffer endlessly in life and death. The Thousand Years Token was sent to Mount Buzhou to be guarded by the Shushan Immortal Sect. A thousand years passed in a flash. Tuosang, still tormented in the Infernal Hell, ended up at Suoyu Mountain, the domain of the Heavenly Demon Clan.

Night Abyss, the demon lord, preserved Tuosang in the Blood Demon Orb where he slept for a hundred years, until he was finally resurrected. Night Abyss told him everything about the past and requested that he serve as the protector of the Heavenly Demon Clan under the new name Chong Guang, hoping they could join forces to oppose the Celestial Clan.

Though Chong Guang had lost all memory of his past, when he heard that his body was destroyed by the Celestial Realm, he agreed without hesitation to help Night Abyss retrieve the Thousand Years Token and fight back. Now that the seal on the Thousand Years Token was weakening, only the Sword Sovereign Fengyue could reseal it. But he was currently in seclusion, making this a rare opportunity. Chong Guang urged immediate action.

Night Abyss introduced Chong Guang to his subordinates: Left Protector Ming Huang, Right Protector Tu Shuo, and the Star Lord of the Dark Soul Palace, Ji Xingluo. He also declared that Chong Guang's rank would be above the other protectors. Although the others were unfamiliar with Chong Guang and held some dissatisfaction, Night Abyss insisted they treat him as they would himself. With no choice, they agreed.

Night Abyss believed that with Chong Guang's help, the Heavenly Demon Clan would rise again. Ming Huang and the others worried that after years of peace, they might fail if they forcibly seized the Thousand Years Token. But Chong Guang believed that though they had grown complacent, so had the Shushan sect—this was the perfect time to act. Night Abyss agreed and immediately gathered the troops to attack Mount Buzhou.

Night Abyss’s wife rushed in to stop him out of concern, but he refused to listen, determined to create a better future for his wife and child. He reached the place where the Thousand Years Token was sealed and broke the seal to take it. Just then, a flying sword arrived—Fengyue Sword Immortal had exited seclusion early. Night Abyss was caught off guard.

Fengyue warned that his rash actions would once again leave the demon clan without a place in the world, but Night Abyss paid no heed and joined forces with Chong Guang to attack him. As Night Abyss and Fengyue clashed, his wife's stomach suddenly began to hurt, and she felt an ominous premonition. Night Abyss deliberately stalled Fengyue, while Chong Guang moved to seize the Thousand Years Token. As the token was summoned, the pain in Night Abyss’s wife intensified.

Just as Chong Guang was about to touch the token, he felt the power around him being drawn away uncontrollably, as if the world were collapsing. In the middle of the battle, Night Abyss was distracted and struck by Fengyue, who, though injured, used his remaining strength to reseal the token before passing out. When Night Abyss returned, he realized his end was near. He handed the Demon Lord's Token to Chong Guang, declaring him the new demon lord.

Just as he was about to finish speaking, he vanished from the Three Realms. Chong Guang led the others back to the Heavenly Demon Clan, and at that moment, Night Abyss’s wife gave birth to a child. Ten years later, a young girl arrived at the secluded Xuanqing Courtyard on the mountaintop. The place was quiet and empty. She looked around and found a young boy sitting cross-legged. She asked him for directions up the mountain, but he didn’t respond.

Thinking she had entered the wrong place, she swung her Phoenix Feather Chain at him, only to have it bounce back. The boy didn’t get up until noon lessons were over. He was an obedient child who had never been punished by his master or made any mistakes, so he refused to rise before time. The girl couldn’t help but laugh at his stubbornness.

She continued asking for directions, worried about her father who was engaged in a duel on the mountain. The boy recalled that his master was also dueling today and guessed it might be her father. She suggested they go watch together, but the boy refused—his master had ordered him to wait there. The girl didn’t want to stay with the boy anymore.

He had never made mistakes and didn’t want to, even if it meant never understanding the Dao while stuck here forever. She left, but the boy looked toward the door, recalling his master’s warning: today he would face a trial, and staying inside might help him avoid it. Still, he was worried about the girl. He flew his sword toward the mountaintop. The girl tried to catch a falling bird’s nest but fell herself.

Thankfully, the boy arrived in time and pulled her up by the hand. She was surprised that he could touch her without feeling cold. Since birth, no one had dared touch her due to the extreme chill her body emitted. Her father had acquired an ice silkworm cocoon to protect her, allowing her to get close to things but not to be touched. The boy was the first person who could. Overjoyed, the girl proposed they become friends. The boy agreed, saying he would protect her and guide her up the mountain. They shared their names—she was Feng Lixue, and he was Mo Xiao.

Episode 4 Recap

Mo Xiao let Feng Lixue stand on his sword and used his sword to carry her up the mountain. He also promised that he would definitely protect her. At the mountaintop, Fengyue and Feng Xingtian were locked in an intense battle. Feng Xingtian was injured by Fengyue’s sword, and Fengyue urged him to stop, offering that Tianxing Sect could become an independent sect.

However, Feng Xingtian, already on the path of demonic cultivation, refused to listen or back down and continued fighting with Fengyue. Feng Lixue, brought up the mountain by Mo Xiao, sincerely admired his strength. She hoped that no matter whether her father or Fengyue won, she could become Fengyue's disciple, learn swordsmanship, and be with Mo Xiao every day.

When Feng Lixue arrived, she saw Feng Xingtian and Fengyue trapped in a ball of golden light, with a sword hanging over Feng Xingtian’s head. In an attempt to save her father, Feng Lixue struck the sword with her Phoenix Feather Chain. As a result, Feng Xingtian fell off a towering cliff. Feng Lixue became certain that her father had been killed by Fengyue and, enraged, tried to kill him.

Mo Xiao intervened to stop her, but accidentally caused Feng Lixue to fall. He rushed to catch her, but she had already accepted death and swore to return for revenge even as a ghost. Then she let go of his hand and plummeted down the cliff. Her fall triggered a strong emotional response in Mo Xiao, who let out a furious roar as dark energy surged around him and his eyes turned red. Feng Lixue was saved by Chong Guang.

He wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth and told her that as long as he was around, he wouldn’t let her die. Feng Xingtian had escaped after his betrayal and returned eight years later to challenge Fengyue again. During the fight, Fengyue realized that Feng Xingtian had fallen into demonic cultivation.

Worried he was being used by others and might suffer backlash, Fengyue knew that though Feng Xingtian had vanished for now, others like him would continue to emerge. To protect Shushan, he willingly injected his divine core into Mo Xiao’s body. The disciple Yuan Beichen didn’t understand why Fengyue would do this at such a critical moment, but Fengyue knew his time was running out. His goal was to safeguard Shushan.

There had always been a strange power within Mo Xiao, which Fengyue had suppressed for years. Now, triggered by recent events, it was erupting. If guided by righteous energy, this power could make Mo Xiao the guardian of Shushan. Fengyue passed his sword technique and divine core to Mo Xiao and instructed Yuan Beichen to keep this secret. From then on, Mo Xiao was required to practice diligently every day.

In his spare moments, he would hold the bird’s nest and think of Feng Lixue, who had risked her life to save it. One day, while training, he turned around to find that Fengyue had already transformed into golden light and vanished. Ten years later, Yuan Beichen had become the head of Shushan. Realizing the time had come, he ordered the bell to be rung, summoning the leaders of all sects.

Murong Changfeng, leader of the Wind Whisper Sect; Xie Tianjun, leader of the Iron Law Sect; and Xuan Zhen, leader of the Hundred Herbs Sect, all arrived with their followers to welcome the return of the Fengyue Divine Sword. Its appearance signified the emergence of Shushan’s next leader, a plan decided a decade ago, which Yuan Beichen had never discussed with the other sects. Mo Xiao suddenly appeared before everyone, surrounded by powerful sword aura.

He slowly descended and bowed to Yuan Beichen, reporting that he had completed his cultivation and was now emerging. Everyone was delighted by Mo Xiao’s talent but criticized Yuan Beichen for hiding the truth for so many years. Yuan Beichen explained that this had been Fengyue’s strict instruction—to tell no one until the time came. Though many admired Mo Xiao’s skills, they felt naming him the next leader so suddenly might be rash.

However, Yuan Beichen brought Mo Xiao before them and officially announced him as the young sect master and future leader. Mo Xiao was placed in a separate courtyard, and everyone liked the kind and considerate young sect master. Xie Lingyun, who had played with Mo Xiao since childhood and used to climb trees with him, immediately came to reconnect when he heard Mo Xiao had returned. Murong Jing also arrived to greet him—she had secretly flown to visit him before.

As soon as Xie Lingyun and Murong Jing met, they started bickering. Mo Xiao ignored them, and seeing it was time for his noon practice, closed the door to begin. Knowing Mo Xiao’s habits, Xie Lingyun brought some silver, guessing that Yuan Beichen would soon send Mo Xiao on a journey. He hoped to tag along. Mo Xiao quietly opened the door, took the silver through the crack, and smiled. Suddenly, a snow demon appeared on Mount Mang, destroying villagers’ crops.

The people sent a plea to Shushan, begging them to vanquish the demon. Yuan Beichen called a meeting to decide who to send, and Murong Changfeng recommended Mo Xiao. Mo Xiao flew his sword to Mount Mang and found the entire area frozen. The snow demon appeared and attacked him. Mo Xiao swiftly defeated it using the Fengyue Sword. When Mo Xiao arrived in town, the people came out in gratitude for ridding them of the snow demon.

The village chief thanked him and asked for more help. The crops were destroyed, and the snow was too thick to melt. Even without the snow demon, they faced starvation. Though Mo Xiao couldn’t raise the dead, he agreed to use his powers to accelerate the thaw and save what crops he could. With his fire power, the snow began to melt. The people’s gratitude toward Mo Xiao grew.

However, drained of energy, he fell from the sky into the snowy land of Mount Mang, unconscious. When Mo Xiao regained consciousness, a girl in white was dragging him forward. He soon passed out again. The girl dragged him into a cave and fed him lingzhi water. The orphan Wu Chen from Mount Mang, seeing that Mo Xiao still hadn’t woken up, planned to go out again with her little fox Xue’er to search for more lingzhi.

Meanwhile, the village chief sent people to search for Mo Xiao, fearing he might be in danger. Wu Chen returned with some fruit, saving two pieces just for Mo Xiao, even though it meant less for her and Xue’er.

Episode 5 Recap

Wu Chen noticed that Mo Xiao had already awakened but hadn’t spoken, and assumed that, like Xue’er, he couldn’t speak. She felt that Mo Xiao was quite pitiful. In reality, Mo Xiao was simply circulating his inner energy and couldn’t speak for the moment. Wu Chen had no choice but to ask Mo Xiao to blink to express his wishes. She fed him some lingzhi water.

Mo Xiao blinked to show disapproval, but Wu Chen misunderstood it as delight and kept feeding him more lingzhi water, leaving Mo Xiao extremely distressed. After finishing his energy circulation, Mo Xiao woke up to find Wu Chen gone from the cave. Just as he was about to get up and look around, Wu Chen returned with Xue’er. She hadn’t found any food, so she shaped packed snow into plum blossom shapes and ate them.

Upon realizing she had no real food, Mo Xiao finally spoke and offered to go get some for her. Wu Chen waited a long time without seeing Mo Xiao return and decided to pick some fruit. Mo Xiao came back just in time with food. Wu Chen, initially wary of provoking snow wolves, hesitated to eat, but hunger eventually won out. She ate the food.

When Mo Xiao said he would be leaving, Wu Chen was worried she’d never get to eat such food again. Mo Xiao tried to persuade her to leave this place, but Wu Chen believed she was different from others and could not descend the mountain. Mo Xiao didn’t push her further and simply told her that if she ever changed her mind, she could come find him at Shushan.

Only then did Wu Chen learn that the person she had saved was named Mo Xiao. After tasting the delicious food from the mortal world, Wu Chen found it hard to stomach wild fruits from the mountains again. When Mo Xiao went outside, he was attacked by a snow demon. During their battle, an avalanche occurred. Mo Xiao used the Fengyue Sword to raise a barrier to resist the falling snow.

The snow demon continuously struck the barrier until it cracked, and the two resumed their fight. At that moment, Wu Chen appeared and was accidentally struck by the snow demon, knocking her unconscious. Mo Xiao hurriedly caught her, and the frost on her body melted instantly. When she woke up, her first words were that she wanted glutinous rice dumplings. News that Mo Xiao had defeated the snow demon reached Chong Guang.

The snow demon was a creature he had sealed for ten years and had intentionally released to cause trouble. Wu Chen being taken away by Mo Xiao had gone unexpectedly smoothly, which Chong Guang hadn’t anticipated. Though he knew the people from Shushan would investigate the snow fox, the snow fox's demon core had only been temporarily sealed by Chong Guang. Since it still had value, he chose not to kill it.

While treating Wu Chen's injuries with his internal energy, Mo Xiao discovered a powerful cold energy within her, which reminded him of Feng Lixue. But he had personally witnessed Feng Lixue’s death, so it was impossible for her to be reborn. Wu Chen was curious that people around her didn’t fear her, and she started touching everyone’s face. Mo Xiao quickly stopped her and reminded her of the differences between men and women and the need to protect herself.

Wu Chen liked the pinwheels on the street but didn’t understand what money was. Mo Xiao used the gold leaves Xie Lingyun had previously given him to buy everything Wu Chen wanted. Having never left the mountain before, Mo Xiao was delighted at how useful the gold leaves were, and everyone who received them looked cheerful.

Wu Chen took a liking to some clothes and immediately changed into them in public, startling Mo Xiao so much that he threw away all the gold leaves in his hands to distract the crowd and avoid her being exposed. Afterward, he bought more dresses for Wu Chen. Since Wu Chen didn’t know how to wear such clothes and Mo Xiao couldn’t look directly, he turned his back and used magic to help her get dressed.

Mo Xiao took Wu Chen to eat and tried to explain the rules: no random physical contact with others, don’t touch others' belongings, and no patting people’s heads—eventually listing twenty to thirty rules. But it seemed Wu Chen hadn’t heard a single one. Wu Chen was unhappy with Mo Xiao constantly setting rules for her. She used to only make rules for Xue’er, but now had to tolerate Mo Xiao’s because she was eating his food.

Reaching her limit, she demanded that he stop laying down rules. Mo Xiao arranged for Wu Chen to stay at the clan chief’s home, where a woman named Ah Hua was assigned to take care of her, feeling sorry for Wu Chen who had once lived in the barren Mang Mountain. After settling Wu Chen, Mo Xiao thanked the clan chief and prepared to leave.

Ah Hua had dressed Wu Chen up nicely, and when she saw Mo Xiao, she innocently asked if she looked beautiful. It was something the older woman had taught her: use beauty, the best magic of all, to make a man stay. Upon learning this, Mo Xiao told Ah Hua not to teach Wu Chen such things, as Wu Chen was naïve and didn’t understand the ways of the world.

When Wu Chen heard that Mo Xiao had left, she panicked and tried to chase after him, but the clan chief stopped her and ordered her tied up. Ah Hua also persuaded her to stay peacefully and find someone to marry, telling her that Mo Xiao was destined to become immortal and couldn’t be with her. Angered, Wu Chen used her ice magic to freeze everyone in the room and broke free of the ropes.

Mo Xiao was drinking tea when he heard a scream and, fearing something had happened to Wu Chen, rushed back to find her nearly unconscious and everything around her frozen. He took her hand to warm her up. Wu Chen woke up and smiled at Mo Xiao, who blamed himself for setting so many rules but forgetting to set this one. The clan chief declared Wu Chen a demoness and surrounded the building, demanding her elimination.

Mo Xiao proposed to take her away, but the clan chief refused, insisting she be dealt with by them. According to Shushan’s rules, magic couldn’t be used against civilians, and people began accusing Mo Xiao of violating sect laws to protect a demon. Mo Xiao swore not to use magic, only his body, to save Wu Chen. He rushed upstairs only to find the room empty—Wu Chen had already been released by Ah Hua.

Ah Hua knew Wu Chen had never harmed anyone, but also understood that no one would believe her. Wu Chen asked her to tell Mo Xiao to find her and praised Ah Hua for being a beautiful woman. Ah Hua smiled and urged Wu Chen to leave quickly. When Ah Hua returned, she happened to run into Mo Xiao. News reached Shushan, and they grew concerned that Wu Chen might be a remnant of the snow demons.

But now that Mo Xiao, who had just completed his mission, was helping Wu Chen, even Yuan Beichen began to worry. Mo Xiao eventually found Wu Chen and brought her favorite glutinous rice dumplings. Wu Chen ate while crying, asking him not to treat her like that again next time. Mo Xiao wanted to boil some hot water but discovered he couldn’t manage the stove. Wu Chen stepped in to help, teasing him for having something he couldn’t do. She quickly got the fire going and proudly watched it burn—only for the kettle to suddenly explode. She could only smile awkwardly.

Episode 6 Recap

Mo Xiao asked Wu Chen whether she had lived in the snowy plains of Mount Mang since childhood. Wu Chen explained that her master made her live there from a young age—partly to avoid hurting others and partly to manage her illness. She said that only when she met Mo Xiao was she able to interact normally with someone, and she liked being around him.

At that moment, Mo Xiao received an order from his sect to return to Mount Shu. Seeing that it was time for his midday cultivation, he prepared to leave. Wu Chen couldn't help but complain that Mo Xiao was a bookworm. Her words were just like Feng Lixue’s back in the day, which made Mo Xiao miss Feng Lixue even more. To help Wu Chen protect herself, Mo Xiao taught her some sword techniques and the Ice Incantation.

Through this, Wu Chen realized that Mo Xiao would not be taking her with him. Mo Xiao believed that they were not on the same path. He promised to cure her cold affliction but felt guilty about not being able to take her along. Hearing this, Wu Chen lost the will to continue practicing. That night, Mo Xiao’s spirit drifted to the presence of the Immortal Lord.

The Immortal Lord told him that the inner demon in his heart had not been eradicated—it had merely been forcibly suppressed over the years, which was why he ended up here. Mo Xiao suddenly recalled Feng Lixue falling off the cliff all those years ago. He believed that although he had promised to protect Feng Lixue, he had ultimately caused her to fall, leaving behind karmic retribution. But Mo Xiao swore that such a thing would never happen again.

Just as he made that vow, the words “If the tribulation cannot be overcome, the karma cannot be dispelled” vanished. After waking up, Mo Xiao realized Wu Chen was missing. He searched everywhere and found her bathing. As he was about to turn away, he noticed a snake swimming toward her. Without hesitation, he grabbed a robe, draped it over Wu Chen, and carried her out of harm's way. They rolled onto the ground, and their lips accidentally touched.

Wu Chen felt that Mo Xiao’s lips were warm. Mo Xiao then noticed a feather-shaped mark on the back of Wu Chen’s neck. Upon questioning, he learned it was a birthmark—identical to the one Feng Lixue had. Mo Xiao suspected Wu Chen might actually be Feng Lixue, and ordered an investigation into Wu Chen and her master, but no useful leads came back. Wu Chen waited outside Mo Xiao’s door, wanting him to continue teaching her swordsmanship.

Mo Xiao, however, said he would take her to Mount Shu the next day. Wu Chen was overjoyed. The next day, Mo Xiao stood ready on his sword, waiting for Wu Chen. She was scared of falling and feared the sword wouldn’t be able to carry both of them, so she didn’t dare get on. Mo Xiao forcibly pulled her up.

At first, she clung to him tightly with her eyes shut, but as they flew higher, she gradually opened her eyes, looking around with curiosity and asking questions. Mo Xiao brought Wu Chen to the Xuanqing Courtyard. Wu Chen felt a strange sense of familiarity but couldn’t remember having been there before. The place was a forbidden area of Mount Shu, and Mo Xiao told her it had been uninhabited for a long time.

He said she could stay temporarily to recover from her illness. Wu Chen, however, insisted on staying with him. Mo Xiao explained that outsiders weren’t allowed in Mount Shu and that this was the only option. Wu Chen reluctantly agreed and asked him to bring her glutinous rice dumplings when he returned. Mo Xiao promised he would bring them every day as long as she stayed and waited for him.

At this time, Chong Guang couldn’t sense Wu Chen’s presence due to Mount Shu’s protective barrier, but he wasn’t worried. As long as Wu Chen was at Mount Shu, his plan was progressing. Mo Xiao returned to report to Yuan Beichen, who was pleased and praised Mo Xiao’s abilities, asking him to continue being a role model for everyone. But in private, Yuan Beichen harshly reprimanded Mo Xiao, questioning him about being enchanted by the snow demon.

Mo Xiao explained everything, saying he hadn’t sensed any demonic energy from the girl and only wanted to help a lonely orphan before sending her away after curing her. Yuan Beichen temporarily believed him and said he would work to quell the rumors. Xie Lingyun and Murong Jing waited outside for Mo Xiao to return and asked about his trip. But as they spoke, they started to argue. Mo Xiao, used to this, quietly left.

By the time Xie Lingyun and Murong Jing realized, Mo Xiao had already returned to his hall. Mo Xiao’s three attendants—Mu, Zi Su, and others—were kneeling inside the hall, insisting they accompany him on his next trip to protect him. Helpless, Mo Xiao agreed to bring them next time. Suddenly, Mo Xiao asked Zi Su if she could make glutinous rice dumplings. Though Zi Su knew Mo Xiao never ate sweets, she agreed to make them as soon as possible.

Xie Lingyun came to ask Mo Xiao for money and was shocked to hear that all the gold leaves had been spent. He jokingly asked if Mo Xiao had bought a house or land. Just then, Zi Su brought in the rice dumplings, surprising Xie Lingyun even more—he couldn’t believe that the Mo Xiao he knew had started eating sweets. In the courtyard, Wu Chen tried to practice the sword techniques Mo Xiao taught her, but she couldn’t get them right.

She suddenly thought of her Xue’er and wondered if she was doing well. When Mo Xiao arrived with the rice dumplings, he found Wu Chen asleep at the door. He carried her back to her room, and as he was laying her down, their lips accidentally brushed again. Mo Xiao not only brought Wu Chen rice dumplings but also brought the two birds he had raised since childhood.

He remembered how Feng Lixue once saved a bird’s nest and wondered if the birds recognized Wu Chen, as they perched on her shoulder. Seeing the birds made Wu Chen think of her own Xue’er. Before leaving, Mo Xiao gave Wu Chen a Mind Stone so she could summon him if needed. However, back at home, Mo Xiao felt uneasy, constantly thinking about that accidental kiss. A smile formed on his lips.

Wu Chen held the Mind Stone and called Mo Xiao’s name—he appeared instantly, which made Wu Chen very happy and trust that he hadn’t lied to her. Since the birds didn’t want to sleep in her arms, Wu Chen asked Mo Xiao to stay with her until she fell asleep. The head of Tianyu invited people from Mount Shu, and the sect leader specifically appointed Mo Xiao to go.

Before leaving, Mo Xiao had Zi Su make many glutinous rice dumplings to send to the Xuanqing Courtyard. Xie Lingyun followed him and met Wu Chen. Hearing Wu Chen speak with childlike ignorance, Xie Lingyun realized her brain hadn’t fully developed. Mo Xiao asked Xie Lingyun to take care of her, but he was reluctant. Mo Xiao clarified that he just wanted to cure Wu Chen’s cold affliction and then send her down the mountain to live peacefully.

Xie Lingyun reluctantly agreed. Xie Lingyun later noticed Mo Xiao seemed to fear Wu Chen. When Wu Chen approached, he instinctively stepped back. Mo Xiao remembered being kissed by Wu Chen earlier and blushed, shocking Xie Lingyun even more. When Wu Chen heard that Mo Xiao was going out, she wanted to follow, but Mo Xiao couldn’t take her. He reminded her that she could use the Mind Stone to summon him if anything happened. Xie Lingyun grew even more annoyed—he had asked Mo Xiao for that stone many times without success, and now Mo Xiao had given it to a little girl.

Episode 7 Recap

Xie Lingyun was displeased that Mo Xiao gave the stone to a little girl and accused him of valuing romance over friendship. Mo Xiao could only agree to talk about it later. But when Xie Lingyun saw how reluctant Mo Xiao was to part with Wu Chen, he became worried that the most promising cultivator of Shushan might be ruined by a young girl. Chong Guang had never pursued immortality; his goal had always been to unify the Three Realms.

He was aware that Shushan was investigating the matter at Mang Mountain, but he had no intention of killing the little fox, firmly believing that with Shushan's current capabilities, they would never be able to trace him. Every day, Xie Lingyun brought glutinous rice dumplings to Wu Chen, along with books for her to read. He even suggested taking her for a walk down the mountain, but Wu Chen refused because she had promised Mo Xiao she wouldn’t leave.

She wanted to stay by his side and couldn’t just run off. When Xie Lingyun asked if she liked Mo Xiao, Wu Chen didn't understand what "liking" meant. It was only after hearing Xie Lingyun describe how people feel when they like someone that she realized she liked Mo Xiao. Their conversation was overheard by Zi Su, who had been secretly following them. After Xie Lingyun left, Zi Su went to find Wu Chen alone.

From their conversation, she learned that Wu Chen was the demon girl from Mang Mountain. Wanting to protect Mo Xiao from being implicated, Zi Su lied to Wu Chen, claiming it was Mo Xiao's intention for her to leave and go elsewhere. At first, Wu Chen didn’t want to go, but when she found out the rice dumplings were made by Zi Su, she was delighted and went with her.

Zi Su tricked Wu Chen into going to Yuan Beichen and asked him to issue an order to expel Wu Chen from the mountain. After testing her, Xuan Zhen confirmed that Wu Chen was just a mortal girl who had entered the place by mistake and agreed to let Zi Su escort her off the mountain. Just then, villagers from Mang Mountain came and accused Wu Chen of being the demon girl from their village.

Yuan Beichen had no choice but to detain her. Wu Chen accused Yuan Beichen of oppressing them and insisted that she had promised to wait for Mo Xiao and would do so no matter what. If they insisted on imprisoning her, she wouldn’t hold back. She unleashed her icy cold energy, instantly freezing several people in the hall. When Mo Xiao rushed back and touched Wu Chen, the ice dissipated. But Wu Chen had used too much strength and nearly fainted.

Mo Xiao asked Zi Su to support her and respectfully explained to Yuan Beichen that Wu Chen was an orphan he had brought back out of concern she might harm others. Xie Lingyun also testified that the cold energy wasn’t demonic but a medical condition. Yuan Beichen temporarily refrained from punishing her. Zi Su apologized to Mo Xiao.

She had begun to suspect something when she noticed Mo Xiao eating the rice dumplings and secretly followed Xie Lingyun to Wu Chen’s place. She feared Wu Chen might implicate Mo Xiao, especially since Wu Chen openly declared her affection for him. Zi Su had never meant to hurt Wu Chen—she only wanted Yuan Beichen to drive her away. Yuan Beichen sent word for Mo Xiao to go to the Sword Pavilion. Mo Xiao, realizing his mistake, knelt to accept punishment.

Yuan Beichen scolded him for bringing the girl back without permission and asked if he liked her. Mo Xiao denied having personal feelings. Yuan Beichen demanded he swear before the Sword Pavilion's ancestral shrine that he had no selfish motives. Yuan Beichen then made his own vow to suppress all worldly emotions and devote himself to protecting Shushan. While Yuan Beichen was punishing himself, Wu Chen was in deep pain.

Zi Su and Xuan Zhen tried to help her, but it was useless. Mo Xiao sensed her pain and flew to protect her. He explained that their cultivation techniques clashed and continuing like this would endanger Wu Chen’s life. Xuan Zhen didn’t want to let Wu Chen go, but Mo Xiao, afraid for Wu Chen’s life, forcibly took her away. Xuan Zhen informed Yuan Beichen and speculated that Wu Chen was actually Feng Lixue, daughter of Feng Xingtian.

Remembering Feng Yue’s words, Yuan Beichen feared Wu Chen might follow in her father’s footsteps and fall into the demonic path, endangering Shushan in the future, so he decided to take action early. Thanks to Mo Xiao’s care, Wu Chen woke up and was relieved to see him again. She now understood that Mo Xiao was right to keep her from going down the mountain.

Mo Xiao tried to explain that his master had no ill intentions, but Wu Chen didn’t need an explanation—she had always trusted Mo Xiao. She was just curious: was Mo Xiao afraid others would hurt her, or that they would hurt themselves because of her? Mo Xiao remained silent. Wu Chen suddenly felt she might become a burden to him.

Senior Brother Lu came to arrest Wu Chen on orders, but Zi Su blocked him at the door and asked him to leave the Tiance Academy. However, he refused. Mo Xiao came out and refused to let him take Wu Chen, promising to personally confess and accept punishment the next day. Knowing he couldn’t win against Mo Xiao, Senior Brother Lu had no choice but to leave for now.

Wu Chen came out and asked Mo Xiao directly: if she stayed and was punished, or left and avoided it, which would he choose? Mo Xiao said that if she had made a mistake, she should be punished. Wu Chen was very happy, thinking Mo Xiao couldn’t bear to let her go. She agreed to be punished, and Zi Su couldn’t believe Wu Chen would think about things that way.

Zi Su brought Wu Chen more rice dumplings, worried she wouldn’t get to eat them during her punishment. But she had also prepared many herbs from the Hundred Herbs Sect to keep Wu Chen alive. Wu Chen, however, wasn’t worried at all and calmly read her storybook. She believed Mo Xiao would never let her get hurt. This statement infuriated Zi Su. She felt Wu Chen had brought too much trouble to Mo Xiao and should stay away from him.

But Wu Chen believed Mo Xiao was her destined one and they couldn’t be separated, making Zi Su storm off in anger. Mo Xiao went to Xie Lingyun to request the Divine Mechanism Map and the Purple Bestowal Immortal Sash. The map revealed all the traps in the Iron Law Sect, while the sash could block all punishment. Xie Lingyun agreed to steal both but asked for a promise in return—he wanted the freedom to choose any magical artifact.

The next morning, Xie Lingyun led people to escort Wu Chen and asked Mo Xiao to go to the Sword Pavilion for punishment. Mo Xiao was worried about Wu Chen going alone, but Xie Lingyun reminded him that he already had the Purple Bestowal Immortal Sash, so what was there to worry about? Mo Xiao knew he couldn’t afford to provoke more conflict with Yuan Beichen, so he agreed. Before leaving, he silently placed the sash around Wu Chen’s wrist.

While Mo Xiao was receiving punishment at the Sword Pavilion, he heard that Yuan Beichen wanted to send Wu Chen to the Demon Subduing Palace. Alarmed, he rushed there. Yuan Beichen believed Wu Chen had approached Mo Xiao with ulterior motives. But Wu Chen insisted she was Mo Xiao’s destined one and refused to be separated. Yuan Beichen brought up the names Feng Xingtian and Feng Lixue, which Wu Chen didn’t recognize but found strangely familiar.

Yuan Beichen thought she was pretending and sentenced her to the Demon Subduing Palace. Mo Xiao rushed in and begged Yuan Beichen to release Wu Chen.

Episode 8 Recap

Yuan Beichen questioned Mo Xiao about what he intended to do if he refused to let Wu Chen go. Mo Xiao declared that even if he had to bear all the punishment, he would still save Wu Chen. Yuan Beichen became even angrier and ordered the strengthening of the Demon Suppression Curse. Each time the talisman struck Wu Chen, Chong Guang cried out in pain, as if he could feel the same agony.

Yet, he was strangely pleased, for only through such pain did he feel truly alive. Mo Xiao remembered the venomous oath once sworn by Feng Lixue—that she would return for revenge even as a ghost. With a heart full of anguish, he once again pleaded with Yuan Beichen to let Wu Chen go. However, Yuan Beichen warned that the more he pleaded, the heavier the punishment would become.

If Mo Xiao was willing to risk his life to save her, he would intensify the punishment even further. In the end, even if Mo Xiao survived, Wu Chen would not. The news reached Chong Guang, and he finally understood the source of his chest pain. He immediately ordered someone to inform "that person", determined not to let anything happen to Wu Chen. Meanwhile, Wu Chen suffered greatly inside the Demon Suppression Palace.

Yuan Beichen furiously ordered Mo Xiao to confess his crimes at the Sword Pavilion, threatening that Wu Chen would not leave alive otherwise. A man in black robes secretly observed Mo Xiao being taken to the Sword Pavilion, then flew into the Demon Suppression Array himself, using his own body to block the curse's power from Wu Chen. In her haze, Wu Chen saw a masked man appear before her, and then closed her eyes.

Yuan Beichen furiously rebuked Mo Xiao for daring to barge into the Demon Suppression Palace for a woman and questioned his reasons for trying to save her. Mo Xiao refused to speak the truth and was whipped by Yuan Beichen, who accused him of forgetting the Immortal Lord’s dying wish for the sake of Wu Chen. But no matter what, Mo Xiao refused to admit his true feelings.

Yuan Beichen revealed that Wu Chen was actually Feng Lixue, and that Mo Xiao only helped her because of this. He angrily reminded Mo Xiao of Fengyue’s death. Chong Guang summoned the white fox Xue’er, now in human form, and showed her a strand of divine consciousness through a mirror. Xue’er was to become the vessel for this divine consciousness.

After transferring it into her body, Chong Guang placed the Phoenix Mask on her with satisfaction and helped her push her cultivation to its peak. He then announced to the world that she would appear at the Ice Lake of Ten Thousand Islands and reveal the secret vault. Yuan Beichen, thinking he had wrongly accused Mo Xiao, came to the Sword Pavilion to apologize.

He suspected someone else was manipulating things behind the scenes and feared the catastrophe foretold by the Sword Sovereign. He asked Mo Xiao to investigate—if the masked woman truly was Feng Lixue and would bring disaster to the mortal realm, Mo Xiao must show no mercy and kill her. Mo Xiao agreed. Believing he had also wronged Wu Chen, Yuan Beichen asked Mo Xiao to bring her out.

Mo Xiao was heartbroken upon seeing her but noticed she wasn’t injured and assumed the sash he gave her had protected her. Wu Chen, however, told Yuan Beichen that a masked man had broken in and tried to take her away, but she refused to leave because she believed Mo Xiao would come for her. Mo Xiao brought the weakened Wu Chen back and asked Zi Su to care for her.

Wu Chen guessed that Zi Su liked Mo Xiao because that’s what people do in the storybooks she read. Zi Su didn’t like her, likely because she liked Mo Xiao. Wu Chen told Zi Su that Mo Xiao probably knew everything but hadn’t given her a chance to speak, just to avoid mutual embarrassment. Based on what she read, she believed Mo Xiao actually liked her. This made Zi Su angry, and she stormed out.

Wu Chen, feeling weak, lay down without drinking the medicine Zi Su brought. A great battle broke out between the asura clan and the immortal sects. The Heavenly Demon Token was split into three stones and fell to the base of Mount Buzhou. One was passed to Chong Guang by Ye Yuan, but the other two were still missing. It was speculated that they might be hidden in the secret vault.

Ji Xingluo volunteered to help find them, but Chong Guang ordered the protector Changming to retrieve them from the Ice Lake of Ten Thousand Islands. Ji Xingluo objected, claiming Changming was not of their clan and shouldn't be trusted. Chong Guang was displeased with her comment, as he himself was not of the asura clan either. Xuyuan Wushuang, once Ye Yuan’s wife, stepped forward to explain on his behalf.

Though Chong Guang praised Wushuang, he could tell she rarely attended such meetings due to dissatisfaction with him taking the position of Lord. Chong Guang had always tasked Changming with monitoring the other clan leaders. When he discovered Ji Xingluo had started to act, he didn’t stop her, as he too wanted to find the three sacred stones. As long as she didn’t create trouble, he didn’t mind her actions.

Of the three stones, one was already in Chong Guang’s possession, and he knew that the other leaders had long coveted it. Now that the other two were potentially located, everyone naturally wanted them. The young master of the Wind Whisper Sect was originally supposed to accompany Mo Xiao by order of Murong Changfeng, but he refused to go. Murong Jing, however, was eager to follow, and the young master gave the opportunity to his younger sister.

Murong Jing excitedly came to find Mo Xiao but ran into Wu Chen. Wu Chen sensed Murong Jing liked Mo Xiao and reminded her once again that Mo Xiao liked her, not Murong Jing. Enraged, Murong Jing stormed off to confront Mo Xiao. Murong Jing found Wu Chen sitting in her former seat. Neither would back down, and just as Mo Xiao was caught in the middle, Xie Lingyun reminded Murong Jing of their main mission.

Murong Jing immediately asked Mo Xiao if he was taking her to the Ice Lake of Ten Thousand Islands. Wu Chen also wanted to go, firmly believing Mo Xiao would bring her along. Having heard no news from Shi Buji, Mo Xiao grew impatient and decided to set off immediately. Xie Lingyun wanted to come along, but Mo Xiao stopped him, asking him to stay and look after Wu Chen.

Xie Lingyun, displeased, suggested bringing Wu Chen or handing her over to Murong Jing instead. Just then, Murong Jing and Wu Chen entered, overhearing the conversation. Murong Jing blamed Xie Lingyun for causing her trouble. Wu Chen was also upset. This was the third time Mo Xiao was leaving her behind. According to the storybooks, “things don’t happen more than three times. ” Angrily, she decided to leave, believing Mo Xiao didn’t want her to stay.

But when she looked back from her room and didn’t see Mo Xiao coming after her, she was disappointed. According to the storybook logic, he should’ve chased after her.

Episode 9 Recap

Xie Lingyun imitated the frivolous young masters at the foot of the mountain, speaking sweet words to women, which made Murong Jing feel extremely uncomfortable. She expressed her discontent with Xie Lingyun learning such improper ways and hoped he could come up with an idea to persuade Mo Xiao to take her down the mountain. The next morning, Mo Xiao came to see Wu Chen, telling her to stay safely on the mountain.

He had found someone to treat her illness, and if the treatment succeeded but he didn’t return, she could continue to stay there and wait for him to arrange her life off the mountain. However, no matter how much Mo Xiao said, there was no response from the room, and Wu Chen did not open the door. Thinking she was angry, Mo Xiao explained that he didn’t consider her a burden—he simply didn’t want her to take any risks.

Still, Wu Chen said nothing. Worried, Mo Xiao pushed the door open, only to find the room empty. Panicked, Mo Xiao searched everywhere but couldn’t find her. Meanwhile, Wu Chen had left Shushan alone, upset at having become a burden to Mo Xiao. She accidentally twisted her ankle and was unable to move, sitting on the ground in pain.

Remembering the stone Mo Xiao had given her, she began pouring her heart out to it, admitting that she had caused Mo Xiao a lot of trouble, though she had always believed he was willing to do those things for her. But if Mo Xiao was unwilling now, it meant he wasn’t her destined one. Mo Xiao heard her voice from the stone and quickly tracked her down. Seeing Wu Chen holding the stone, he offered to carry her back.

Wu Chen tearfully reminded him that this time she wasn’t shamelessly begging to stay—it was Mo Xiao who insisted on taking her back. Wu Chen hurriedly nodded in agreement, finally breaking into a smile through her tears. Murong Jing went to great lengths to accompany Mo Xiao down the mountain and explicitly stated she would not help take care of Wu Chen.

Just as Mo Xiao was put in a difficult position, Xie Lingyun brought news—he had found the whereabouts of the divine doctor Shi Bujiu, who was willing to help, and they had arranged to meet at Wan Island Ice Lake. Mo Xiao decided to take everyone there and instructed Zi Su and Zi Mu to disguise Wu Chen as a man. This time, Mo Xiao and his group set out for Wan Island Ice Lake on a large ship.

Murong Jing, who was in charge of looking after Wu Chen, was assigned to room with her. She immediately objected, unwilling to stay together, but Mo Xiao insisted she had to be responsible for Wu Chen’s safety. Xie Lingyun also refused to share a room with Mo Xiao, and since Wu Chen offered to stay with Mo Xiao, Murong Jing reluctantly agreed to share a room with Wu Chen.

Wu Chen liked hugging something when she slept and warned Murong Jing that she might hug her. Murong Jing strongly objected, but when she saw a bug crawling across the floor, she jumped onto the bed and clung to Wu Chen for protection. Wu Chen couldn't help but laugh, and Murong Jing finally agreed to let her hug her while sleeping. On the deck, Mo Xiao chatted with Xie Lingyun about Shi Bujiu treating Wu Chen.

In truth, Mo Xiao didn’t believe Shi Bujiu could cure her but felt he had no choice but to try. His words confused Xie Lingyun. Mo Xiao only wanted to find out who the masked man in black was that Wu Chen had mentioned. At that moment, Zi Su brought the completed Chi Yu Chain for Wu Chen.

However, Wu Chen showed no reaction when she saw the Feng Yu Chain, leaving Mo Xiao uncertain whether the person in front of him was really Feng Lixue. That night, Mo Xiao felt a familiar presence nearby, but when he went out, he saw no one. In fact, the masked woman had been watching the ship from the shore the whole time.

Back in the cabin, Mo Xiao gazed through the window at the sleeping Wu Chen, momentarily dazed, wondering if she was really Feng Lixue. After spending two days together, Wu Chen and Murong Jing had grown close. Murong Jing often tried to teach Wu Chen how to use the Chi Yu Chain, but Wu Chen just couldn’t learn. Murong Jing hoped she’d master it soon so she could protect herself and fight off bad people.

But Wu Chen said she didn’t need to fight bad people—because she was the bad one. Suddenly, they saw three people fighting on the river. Wu Chen asked if they should help, and if so, whom to help. Xie Lingyun recognized the three as Madam Du Hongyue, the Master of Biqiong Island, and the Master of Longevity Valley, and advised they avoid trouble by steering clear.

But before he could finish speaking, Mo Xiao had already flown to the small boat and snatched the Feng Yu Token they were fighting over. Wu Chen and Murong Jing immediately followed and stood behind Mo Xiao. Mo Xiao told the three to go back and tell the masked woman that Mo Xiao had arrived. Wu Chen liked the Feng Yu Token that Mo Xiao brought back, and he gave it to her without hesitation.

Mo Xiao believed the masked woman’s real goal was to lure him out, which was why he had the message delivered. He now suspected that only by drawing out the masked woman could he confirm who was truly Feng Lixue. Chong Guang, upon hearing that the Feng Yu Token had been taken and the message spread, instructed Chang Ming to warn the masked woman to use her brain and not ruin his plans.

Chang Ming was curious about Chong Guang’s true intentions and why he wasn’t stopping Ji Xingluo even though he knew she had ulterior motives. Chong Guang felt this was a major affair of the asura clan—if even the Star Lord didn’t participate, it would only raise suspicions. Ever since Mo Xiao spread the message, evil forces kept showing up to test them.

Murong Jing and Xie Lingyun were busy fighting them off while Wu Chen obediently accompanied Mo Xiao, even helping him with his shoes. Xie Lingyun was frustrated with constantly fending off these attacks with no end in sight, but Mo Xiao was confident—the person they were waiting for would arrive soon.

Eventually, they abandoned the large ship and switched to a smaller one, deliberately leaving behind the Black Spider's mark to make others believe the Feng Yu Token had been taken by Madam Du. The group arrived at a market that had once been Feng Xingtian’s residence. When Wu Chen saw Xing Tian Manor, she was reluctant to leave, feeling an uncanny sense of familiarity.

Episode 10 Recap

After finding an inn in Fengdu City, Mo Xiao rented out the entire place but had Xie Lingyun pay for it. Xie Lingyun couldn’t help but complain, criticizing Mo Xiao for making him pay after he had already spent a whole bag of golden leaves last time. This time, Mo Xiao had generously booked the entire inn.

Mo Xiao explained that there were guests coming today and then deliberately sent Xie Lingyun and Wu Chen along with the others out for a walk. At Xing Tian Manor, the Great Protector gathered the disciples who had been living like ordinary people. They felt the sect leader was no longer around, and they had been disbanded by Shushan long ago. They didn’t understand why the Great Protector Po Yun insisted on gathering them together.

Po Yun, however, believed that as long as they followed Feng Xingtian for one day, they would follow him for life. Now that Feng Lixue had returned, it was time to revive the Tianxing Sect together. Some, however, had grown used to their new lives and were reluctant to gather.

When Po Yun was about to make an example out of them, the masked woman arrived and stopped him, suggesting that now wasn’t the time to deal with their own people but to focus on Mo Xiao, Feng Xingtian’s disciple. Mo Xiao was meditating in the evening when the masked woman arrived uninvited. She knew Mo Xiao had intentionally lured her there. She noted that Mo Xiao, who had seemed somewhat foolish as a child, had grown clever now.

This made Mo Xiao even more suspicious that the masked woman was indeed Feng Lixue. After using the Feng Yu Chain to draw Mo Xiao out, the masked woman attacked him, insisting she was the returned Feng Lixue seeking revenge. At this moment, Wu Chen and the others returned, and Feng Lixue flew away. Wu Chen, however, was delayed by watching a rabbit and was found by the masked woman.

Just as the masked woman was about to strike, a black mist stopped her. The masked woman quickly fled, leaving Wu Chen feeling dizzy. The others searched for Wu Chen and eventually found her asleep in the street. Mo Xiao scolded her for being so reckless. Wu Chen mentioned seeing someone with a mask earlier, feeling that the person was familiar, but it wasn’t the same person as the one she had encountered in Shushan.

Because Wu Chen had slept for a long time and her feet had fallen asleep, Mo Xiao carried her back while asking about her plans before going to Mang Mountain. Wu Chen couldn’t remember and felt it wasn’t necessary to try. Mo Xiao didn’t press further. Chang Ming came to deliver Chong Guang’s orders, warning that if there was another incident like today, those involved would no longer be of use.

The masked woman, however, stated that no one could stop her from doing what she wanted, and she wouldn’t be controlled by Chong Guang. As soon as Chang Ming left, Feng Lixue captured Po Yun, who had been hiding outside the window. She questioned him about doubting her identity, and Po Yun, though never doubting her, expressed concern over her actions over the years. He also vowed to die to protect her.

The masked woman placed her hand on his shoulder, reminding him to do as she instructed. Po Yun noticed that the masked woman could touch him and guessed that her cold illness had been cured. Xie Lingyun was displeased that Mo Xiao had deliberately sent them away. Mo Xiao explained that he just wanted to verify whether the masked woman was truly Feng Lixue and didn’t want to involve Xie Lingyun.

Xie Lingyun, though upset that Mo Xiao didn’t treat him like a friend, also expressed concern about whether Mo Xiao would uncover the truth about the masked woman’s identity. The next day, they all rode together toward their destination, with Po Yun and his people lying in wait along the road. As soon as Mo Xiao’s group neared, they released hidden weapons.

However, Po Yun accidentally noticed that Wu Chen also had a Feng Yu Token mark on the back of her neck, which surprised him. Mo Xiao and the others weren’t injured, and they realized that these people were the masked woman’s followers. Worried they might cause trouble, they hastened toward Taohua Wu. Po Yun, uneasy after seeing Wu Chen’s birthmark and recalling that the masked woman could touch his shoulder, began to doubt that she was the real Feng Lixue.

Mo Xiao and the others discovered that Madam Du and her group were trying to steal the Feng Yu Token. They had already set up an ambush at the inn on the main path. To shake them off, Mo Xiao instructed Xie Lingyun to fake an escape with the Feng Yu Token, drawing all of them into pursuit, while Mo Xiao and Zi Su led the others toward the entrance to Wan Island Ice Lake.

Once Madam Du and her group discovered their plan, they quickly followed. Mo Xiao had already sealed the token there. The group accused Mo Xiao of blatantly trying to seize the Tianxing Sect’s hidden treasure. Madam Du suggested they all work together to break the barrier, but Mo Xiao warned them not to try, threatening that Shushan would never forgive them if they did. The group dared not act recklessly.

Since Murong Jing wanted to watch the spectacle, she left Wu Chen alone at the inn. Suddenly, Po Yun appeared beside Wu Chen. When Wu Chen went missing, Mo Xiao furiously scolded Murong Jing. She was heartbroken and left, while Mo Xiao wanted to search for Wu Chen but was stopped by Zi Su.

Mo Xiao was injured by the seal of the Feng Yu Token and needed to rest, while Zi Su and the others’ mission was to protect Mo Xiao. Mo Xiao reluctantly agreed. Murong Jing was upset, feeling that she only wanted to help Mo Xiao, but Wu Chen wasn’t a child, so why did she have to watch over her? Xie Lingyun comforted her, reminding her that Murong Jing was always the most beautiful, whether she was active or quiet.

Murong Jing felt a little better and decided to go look for Wu Chen. Po Yun took Wu Chen away and questioned her about her birthmark, demanding to know who she really was, when the birthmark appeared, and why she was so powerless despite being with Mo Xiao. Wu Chen tried to escape but was struck by Po Yun. To protect herself, she released cold energy, stunning Po Yun, who stood frozen.

The masked woman appeared just in time to take Po Yun away, recognizing that he had begun to doubt her identity. She also reminded him that she was the real Feng Lixue, and Wu Chen’s purpose was to make Mo Xiao fall for her. After Po Yun left, Wu Chen fell unconscious. Madam Du and her group found her and took her away, sending a message to Mo Xiao, demanding he lift the seal in exchange for Wu Chen’s life.

When Wu Chen woke up, she found the masked woman in front of her. The masked woman scolded Wu Chen for not being worthy of being Feng Lixue, forgetting her father’s vengeance, and vowed to kill Mo Xiao. Hearing that Mo Xiao would be killed, Wu Chen immediately used Ice Seal to fight back. During the battle, she saw that the masked woman also had the Feng-shaped mark, which shocked her.

At that moment, Chang Ming arrived and knocked Wu Chen unconscious, warning the masked woman not to harm Wu Chen, or she would make her disappear forever. Chang Ming then took Wu Chen away, throwing a heartstone at the masked woman as he left.

Episode 11 Recap

Mo Xiao had been constantly worried about Wu Chen, as the Mind Stone he carried showed no response. Just then, Xie Lingyun rushed over with a threatening letter—Madam Du and the others demanded Mo Xiao break the barrier in exchange for Wu Chen. Mo Xiao hurried to the barrier, where he was coerced by the crowd to open it. He released countless flying swords, suspending them above everyone's heads, forcing them to hand over Wu Chen.

He warned that if they failed to produce Wu Chen, no one would be allowed to leave. Xie Lingyun tried to persuade him to stop, but seeing that Mo Xiao was determined, he chose to stay by his side through heaven and earth, also pressuring the crowd to hand over Wu Chen. Murong Jing unleashed the Pagoda Bell, causing everyone intense headaches. Amid the counterattacks, her Pagoda Bell fell into the water. Xie Lingyun was injured protecting her.

The masked woman suddenly appeared before the crowd and demanded that Mo Xiao choose between saving Wu Chen or allowing the others to reach the island. Mo Xiao was willing to trade his life for Wu Chen’s and agreed to leave with the masked woman, telling Xie Lingyun and Murong Jing to return and wait. Xie Lingyun noticed Murong Jing staring at the lake, knowing she was heartbroken over the lost Pagoda Bell.

Shushan also received word of Wu Chen and the others' actions. Yuan Beichen felt the situation was too murky to make a decision for now. Suddenly, people from Penglai Mountain and the Celestial Realm arrived, demanding Shushan clarify publicly that they had nothing to do with the Heavenly Secret Treasure and had no interest in being involved. The outside world believed the three sects were allied.

Now that Mo Xiao had stirred trouble, they feared being implicated and even pressured Shushan to revoke Mo Xiao's position as heir. Reluctantly, Yuan Beichen agreed that if Mo Xiao failed to resolve the issue properly, his position would be revoked. After returning, Xie Lingyun and Murong Jing were met by Zi Su and others who wanted to rescue Mo Xiao out of concern.

But Xie Lingyun stopped them, believing that if Mo Xiao hadn’t gone willingly, the masked woman wouldn’t have been able to take him. Since he told everyone to wait at home, he surely had his own plan, and not interfering would be the best support. The masked woman bound Mo Xiao with iron chains and told him she was the real Feng Lixue, while Wu Chen was merely a pawn. Hatred had kept her alive all these years.

Mo Xiao, with tears in his eyes, said he would willingly bear it all if it meant Feng Lixue could come back to life. The masked woman scoffed at his words as lies and flung him into endless darkness, where the sounds of women laughing and screaming echoed. Mo Xiao sat silently, reciting scriptures. Ji Xingluo found Mo Xiao and the masked woman, wanting them to jointly open the treasure.

The masked woman reprimanded her but was injured in the ensuing fight. Ji Xingluo discovered that the masked woman’s technique was demonic and began to doubt her identity. Mo Xiao broke free of the chains and, joining forces with the masked woman, defeated Zi Ying and Ji Xingluo before escaping. Ji Xingluo ordered Zi Ying to investigate the masked woman’s background. Although Mo Xiao saved the masked woman, she still had no intention of letting him go.

She attacked again, but was thwarted by Chang Ming, who intervened from the shadows. Forced to retreat, she blamed Chang Ming for interfering. Chang Ming was unfazed and criticized her for defying Chong Guang's orders. Murong Jing brought medicine to Xie Lingyun and found him missing. Anxiously searching, she discovered the unconscious Xie Lingyun by the river. Despite his injuries, he had gone into the water to retrieve the Pagoda Bell for her, knowing how much it meant to her.

Murong Jing was deeply moved and began to develop feelings for Xie Lingyun. The masked woman deliberately handed over Wu Chen, but spread the word that the treasure was now up for grabs. Everyone attacked Mo Xiao, but Wu Chen suddenly awoke and froze them all before fainting herself. Enraged, Mo Xiao erected a boundary and warned that anyone who dared cross it would face the wrath of the Fengyue Sword.

Seeing that the masked woman had fled, the others quickly retreated. Zi Su, Zi Mu, and the others returned and discussed what they had witnessed. They found it unbelievable—Wu Chen could freeze everything within a hundred paces, yet failed to freeze the masked woman. Moreover, her power seemed far greater than before. Ji Xingluo was captured and brought before Chong Guang. She accused him of betraying the asura clan and Night Abyss’s trust.

Chong Guang replied that he had only spared Ji Xingluo because of a promise to Night Abyss—otherwise, she would already be dead. He ordered her thrown into the Demon Prison and had Zi Ying’s facial injury, caused by Ji Xingluo, healed. He told Zi Ying to await Ji Xingluo’s punishment before returning. Chong Guang knew the entire asura clan distrusted him.

He told Left Protector Ming Huang and Wushuang that he wasn’t truly one of them and viewed this place as a stepping stone—he would eventually leave and return the clan to them. There was no need to act rashly. Touched by Chong Guang healing her face, Zi Ying begged to stay by his side, and he agreed. Wu Chen’s injuries were severe. Mo Xiao spent three days and nights treating her but could only stabilize her pulse.

Seeing her in pain, he thought only of saving her. Outside, Zi Su worried that Mo Xiao might push himself too far and tried to rush in, but Xie Lingyun and Murong Jing stopped her, fearing it would worsen both of their conditions. Just as Mo Xiao stepped out of the room, he fainted. Fortunately, Xie Lingyun had called Shi Buji, who gave Mo Xiao a pill and demanded a Soul-Returning Elixir as payment.

But Xie Lingyun said that wasn’t who he wanted saved and offered two jars of Peach Blossom Brew instead. Shi Buji immediately countered for four jars. Xie Lingyun, reluctant to part with his brew, tried to bargain, but Mo Xiao directly promised ten jars, leaving Xie Lingyun speechless. Shi Buji examined Wu Chen and realized someone had already tried saving her. Dissatisfied, he feared the credit might be unclear.

Mo Xiao hurriedly explained he hadn’t intervened and credited Shi Buji with all the merit. Pleased, Shi Buji agreed to help—but demanded everyone leave. After everyone exited, Mo Xiao also signaled Xie Lingyun to leave. Xie Lingyun pouted and stepped out.

Episode 12 Recap

Although Xie Lingyun was the one who brought Shi Bujio, he was still kicked out of the room. While everyone was complaining and grumbling, Xie Lingyun believed he was the least deserving to be kicked out, yet he was still forced to leave. Still, he trusted that whatever Mo Xiao was doing, he had his own reasons.

Shi Bujio proposed that Mo Xiao inject spiritual power into Wu Chen's body, and then find snow lotus to use as medicine in order to save her. After channeling his spiritual power, Mo Xiao was set to find the snow lotus.

Everyone was worried about Mo Xiao going alone and insisted on following him, but since the snow lotus is a spiritual plant and might not appear if too many people went, they eventually agreed to let Mo Xiao go by himself. Xie Lingyun couldn’t understand why Mo Xiao would risk everything for Wu Chen. He tried to persuade Mo Xiao not to ruin his promising future for a woman.

But Mo Xiao revealed that the real reason he brought Shi Bujio was to help verify whether the person before them was truly Feng Lixue. In the end, it was confirmed—she was indeed Feng Lixue. As a child, Feng Lixue had a naturally cold constitution, and Feng Xingtian had sought out Shi Bujio. He placed an ice silkworm in Feng Lixue's body to help her live normally. However, as she grew older, the ice silkworm likely lost its effect.

This time, Shi Bujio came to retrieve the ice silkworm and confirmed he hadn't mistaken her identity. She was a patient he couldn't cure, and it became a lifelong regret. Zi Su, who had come to deliver something, happened to overhear this conversation between Xie Lingyun and Mo Xiao. After learning everything, Xie Lingyun no longer tried to stop him.

Mo Xiao once again used spiritual power to try and feed the snow lotus to Wu Chen, but Wu Chen's body rejected it. He had no choice but to place it in his mouth and feed it to her directly—just as Zi Su happened to witness the scene. Mo Xiao did not let everyone down. He successfully found the snow lotus and awakened Wu Chen.

But while watching over Wu Chen, Mo Xiao had a dream—he dreamt of Feng Lixue falling off a cliff. He used all his strength to pull her back up, only to find he had rescued Wu Chen. The two held each other tightly, but upon closer look, it was the masked woman. Mo Xiao woke up calling out Feng Lixue's name, which made Wu Chen curious—who exactly was Feng Lixue?

Ever since learning of Wu Chen’s identity, Zi Su had been deeply troubled, wondering how to best protect Mo Xiao. Zi Mu advised her not to pressure herself too much, but Zi Su’s heart wasn’t just burdened by the sense of protection—it also carried a vague jealousy. Zi Su went to Wu Chen and asked her to stay away from Mo Xiao, revealing she knew Wu Chen was actually Feng Lixue in disguise.

Just then, Murong Jing arrived with glutinous rice dumplings for Wu Chen, and only then did Zi Su leave. Wu Chen, however, didn’t tell Murong Jing what Zi Su had just said. Chong Guang soon learned of Wu Chen’s actions, and Mo Xiao also confirmed her identity. Wu Chen herself began to doubt who she really was. Chong Guang believed Mo Xiao couldn't have determined her identity as Feng Lixue solely based on Shi Bujio’s claim.

The more Mo Xiao wanted to uncover the truth, the more he had to go to Tongming Island. The masked woman sought out Po Yun and ordered him to spread the word that everything in Tianxing Secret Vault would be gifted to the world. Although Po Yun found it puzzling, he didn’t oppose the plan. After all, the vault could only be opened by Feng Lixue. When the time came, whoever could open it would be the true Feng Lixue.

The news reached Mo Xiao—Tongming Island would appear in three days. Mo Xiao was ready to go at any moment, but his mind kept flashing with images of the masked woman and Wu Chen. There couldn’t be two Feng Lixues in the world—there had to be something more. Mo Xiao deliberately gave Shi Bujio only five jars of wine through Xie Lingyun and said he would receive the other five only if he agreed to meet someone.

Shi Bujio, who loved wine like life itself, had no choice but to agree. Mo Xiao had people secretly gathering information but still couldn’t find out who Wu Chen’s master was. The masked woman had been taken away that day, but no one knew who took her. Mo Xiao ordered further investigation. Po Yun, seeing Mo Xiao bring Shi Bujio along, suspected that Mo Xiao was also questioning Feng Lixue’s identity. Wu Chen trained diligently every day.

Murong Jing was concerned and asked her about it. Wu Chen suddenly asked what it felt like to have a father. Murong Jing said having a father felt like being able to do anything without consequence. She also mentioned Feng Xingtian—though he wasn’t a good man, he searched the world for rare treasures for his daughter, making him a good father in her eyes.

From Murong Jing’s words, Wu Chen learned that Mo Xiao had gone to see the masked woman, which made her uneasy. She secretly slipped away while Murong Jing wasn’t looking. Mo Xiao brought Shi Bujio to meet the masked woman. The masked woman instantly knew Shi Bujio was there to expose her identity. She directly spoke of the treatment she received from Shi Bujio years ago. Shi Bujio was stunned to find that there were two Feng Lixues, overwhelmed by a sense of mystery and disbelief.

Episode 13 Recap

Po Yun was also stunned. He couldn’t understand why there were two Feng Lixues, but he guessed that Feng Lixue had come back to life, and perhaps many strange things had happened in between. So he decided to go find Wu Chen immediately. After Murong Jing couldn't find Wu Chen, she searched everywhere. At the same time, Wu Chen encountered Po Yun, who had come to find her.

Wu Chen wanted to understand from Po Yun whether she was truly Feng Lixue. Until now, she had only heard others say she was Feng Lixue, but she herself wanted to know the truth. Po Yun was also uncertain who was Feng Lixue, but he was sure that Wu Chen was not, because the real Feng Lixue would never be with Mo Xiao.

Just then, the woman in the phoenix mask suddenly appeared and told Wu Chen that Mo Xiao and she were enemies who had killed her father—they could never be together. However, Wu Chen treated her like a benefactor and followed her. The masked woman suddenly launched an attack on Wu Chen with a Phoenix Feather Chain. Wu Chen fought back, and Po Yun, afraid Wu Chen would get hurt, stepped in front to protect her.

In the process, a bronze mirror he was carrying fell to the ground. During the fight between Wu Chen and the masked woman, both were wounded and coughed up blood onto the mirror. Strangely, the two drops of blood quickly merged together. Po Yun suspected someone had used a soul-splitting technique. Wu Chen, however, had already left—she wanted to find the truth in her own way. Murong Jing returned in a panic after failing to find Wu Chen.

Just as Mo Xiao was about to go search, Wu Chen came back. She reassured everyone there was no need to worry about her. She was just an orphan girl and had nothing to do with the Heavenly Secret Vault—no one would harm her. She even asked Mo Xiao if he agreed. Mo Xiao didn’t know how to respond, only saying it was better to stay cautious. Wu Chen, looking heartbroken, returned to her room.

Everyone could sense that she was no longer the carefree girl she used to be. That night, Wu Chen had a dream. She dreamt of young Feng Lixue being saved by Chong Guang. But she insisted on going out to kill Mo Xiao and the others to avenge her father. In her desperation for revenge, she forced a wisp of her divine consciousness out of her body.

Chong Guang isolated this vengeful consciousness and erased Feng Lixue’s memory, leaving only the orphan girl Wu Chen, who had no memories or hatred—like a blank piece of paper, quietly waiting. Wu Chen awoke from the dream, saw Murong Jing still sound asleep, and didn’t wake her. The next day, Mo Xiao noticed Wu Chen was not in good spirits and wanted to check on her, only to discover her wrist was injured.

Wu Chen pretended not to know how she got hurt and went to find Zi Su to apply medicine. Mo Xiao was shocked because he had seen the same kind of injury on the masked woman’s wrist and couldn’t understand why Wu Chen had the same wound. Senior Brother Lu suddenly arrived with an order from Yuan Beichen, demanding the execution of Feng Lixue.

They believed that only by killing Feng Lixue could they prevent the Heavenly Secret Vault from resurfacing in the martial world. Mo Xiao immediately accepted the order but insisted that he would be the only one to carry it out. Anyone who acted on their own would be considered disobeying orders. Senior Brother Lu thought Mo Xiao was just afraid others would steal his credit and readily agreed. Xie Lingyun questioned Mo Xiao's decision to obey this order.

The sect leader was known to be kind-hearted and would not normally order a killing—not even of a demon. But now he had ordered the death of Feng Lixue, even though Wu Chen and the masked woman didn’t know who the real Feng Lixue was. Mo Xiao still accepted the task. He emphasized that Wu Chen was just Wu Chen—not Feng Lixue—which finally eased Xie Lingyun’s concerns.

But Mo Xiao still had lingering doubts about both Wu Chen and the masked woman. Mo Xiao noticed Wu Chen was troubled and hoped she would confide in him. But Wu Chen said everyone has their own secrets, which they might share with the person they trust most—or keep to themselves. She added that it was Xie Lingyun who had taught her this. Mo Xiao was left speechless.

Chong Guang also learned about the execution order and couldn't help laughing, thinking that Shu Mountain had become afraid. However, he believed that Mo Xiao wouldn’t kill anyone and that he would investigate the truth. By the time the truth was uncovered, it would be too late. Chang Ming suggested killing the masked woman to save Wu Chen from hardship, but Chong Guang wasn’t in a hurry.

He believed that Wu Chen would eventually awaken, and when she did, the masked woman would naturally disappear. Wu Chen kept thinking about the masked woman’s words, unsure if it was true that Mo Xiao had killed her father. Meanwhile, Mo Xiao was closely observing Wu Chen, trying to figure out the relationship between her and the masked woman. Tongming Island did appear, and the Poison Lady and others prepared to go there, only to discover poisonous mist around the area.

They didn’t dare venture further and decided they needed to find the masked woman quickly. Upon hearing the island had appeared, Mo Xiao hurried over. The lake was filled with bamboo rafts and many casualties—most people never returned, and newcomers were too afraid to enter. Senior Brother Lu came to press Mo Xiao about chasing Feng Lixue. Mo Xiao said he had already accepted the sect master’s order and didn’t need Lu’s nagging.

Lu felt embarrassed and left with his men. Xie Lingyun couldn’t wait for Mo Xiao’s decision and decided to take Murong Jing to check the canyon entrance first, leaving Zi Su and the others behind. Zi Su went to find Wu Chen, who also happened to be looking for her. The two agreed to go buy sticky rice dumplings, but Wu Chen had already guessed Zi Su’s real purpose—to kill her.

Wu Chen said she was happy for Mo Xiao to have such a loyal friend. She didn’t mean to drag Mo Xiao into this and didn’t want to wait any longer. She planned to leave soon and asked Zi Su to say goodbye to everyone on her behalf. Earlier, Po Yun had already met with Wu Chen. She planned to go to Tongming Island herself, believing the masked woman would follow—and Mo Xiao would definitely come too.

Po Yun knocked out Zi Su and took Wu Chen to the island. News of the masked demon woman heading to the island spread, and everyone began to stir. Mo Xiao locked himself in his room, silently studying the relationship between Wu Chen and the masked woman. He discovered that someone had used a soul-splitting technique—a forbidden spell among orthodox sects but one known to the demon clan.

Senior Brother Lu, seeing Mo Xiao still hadn’t acted, planned to enlist disciples from Penglai to kill Feng Lixue. Zi Su, upon waking, went to Mo Xiao and informed him that Wu Chen had left. At the same time, she also learned the masked woman had gone to Tongming Island. Mo Xiao rushed to the canyon entrance to find Xie Lingyun and told him that the masked woman and Wu Chen might be the same person.

He planned to go to the island to resolve the issue and asked Xie Lingyun and the others to stop anyone from entering. Xie Lingyun and Zi Su set up a barrier. The Poison Lady and others arrived soon after but were blocked and became furious, ready to attack the barrier. In their view, if Shu Mountain's people could go to the island, so should they. Po Yun led Wu Chen to Wuming Island, where they heard beasts roaring below.

The island rested on the back of a giant beast. If the beast awoke due to any disturbance, Wuming Island could collapse instantly. Worried that Wu Chen might have trouble walking, Po Yun found a stick for her to hold onto so they could climb together without getting tired. Wu Chen said she didn’t remember this, and Po Yun sighed that she had grown up—it was normal to forget things.

Still, Wu Chen held onto the stick and followed Po Yun up the path. Po Yun remembered when they came here with Feng Xingtian—the entrance had been on the cliff wall, but now it had vanished. The masked woman suddenly appeared behind them, saying the landscape had changed dramatically over time, and so had the entrance. She declared that Wu Chen would disappear today.

Wu Chen did not back down, believing that only one of them could be the real Feng Lixue—and that could only be proven by opening the Heavenly Secret Vault. The masked woman attacked Wu Chen, but Mo Xiao arrived in time to save her. Suddenly, the ground split open. The masked woman and Po Yun fell into one hole, while Mo Xiao and Wu Chen fell into another.

Wu Chen insisted she had come to open the vault to prove who was truly Feng Lixue. She guessed that Mo Xiao had come because he believed she was the real one but wasn’t sure about her connection with the masked woman. Mo Xiao replied that he didn’t care who Wu Chen really was—he just wanted her to always remain pure and never fall into the path of darkness.

Episode 14 Recap

Senior Brother Haotian from Penglai Island received a letter from Senior Brother Lu asking for help and rushed over immediately. Senior Brother Lu told Haotian that the Young Sect Leader had entered Tongming Island alone, which caused dissatisfaction among other sects. They believed he was trying to monopolize the secret treasure and expressed their discontent with Mo Xiao being appointed as the Young Sect Leader.

Haotian had also heard from Yu Yao before that Mo Xiao had just come out of seclusion and was already named the Young Sect Leader. He didn’t expect such an unreliable person. Po Yun and the masked woman entered the same secret tunnel. The masked woman was displeased that Po Yun always protected Wu Chen. Po Yun explained that he didn’t want to see either the masked woman or Wu Chen get hurt.

Wu Chen was worried that she was Feng Lixue. She remembered Xie Lingyun once saying that Mo Xiao was her fated person. At the time, she didn’t understand, but now she feared that a fated person might also be an enemy. She feared being Feng Lixue, which would mean there could only be hatred between her and Mo Xiao. Wu Chen didn’t want that kind of outcome.

Mo Xiao hoped Wu Chen would always remain the innocent and pure girl he knew. Wu Chen wept, feeling that it was already too late—she was only one step away from the truth. Just then, a giant rock suddenly fell, separating them. The masked woman and Po Yun were the first to find the entrance to the Tianxing Secret Treasure. Wu Chen arrived shortly after and saw that the mechanism on the door was shaped like a Phoenix Feather Token.

Po Yun recalled that only Feng Lixue’s blood could open the treasure. However, the masked woman couldn’t do it. Wu Chen used her own blood to open the secret treasure, which excited Po Yun immensely. They had finally found the young lady. The masked woman and Wu Chen walked into the treasure chamber together. Wu Chen also realized that the masked woman before her was just a fragment of her divine consciousness.

The masked woman took off her mask, revealing a face identical to Wu Chen’s, along with a ghostly smile. Back then, the masked woman had been imprisoned in a mirror, but Chong Guang released her and placed her onto Xue’er, removing the mask for her. The masked woman claimed that she had waited ten years just to take off that mask. Now, her only goal was to kill Wu Chen.

However, after a fierce battle, Wu Chen defeated the masked woman and absorbed her divine consciousness into her own body. The masked woman reverted to the appearance of Xue’er. Wu Chen was shocked—it turned out the person before her was Xue’er. Chong Guang suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest. He sensed that Wu Chen’s heart had been moved—she had feelings for Mo Xiao. Chong Guang believed it was time to reclaim what they wanted.

Wu Chen awoke from her ten-year dream to find that everything had been real. She remembered what happened on the mountaintop all those years ago and called out Mo Xiao’s name loudly. Mo Xiao heard her and rushed into the cave, revealing that he was Feng Lixue. He also told her that the divine consciousness of the masked woman and Wu Chen had merged into one. Now was the time to resolve the grievance between them.

Mo Xiao also said that he had spent ten years in seclusion just to uncover the truth of the past. His heart burned every day. Whether it was Wu Chen or the masked woman, they had both been pawns of others. He hoped Wu Chen could wake up, not let hatred cloud her judgment, not be manipulated, and not be driven by revenge. Wu Chen struck Mo Xiao with the Phoenix Feather Chain, tears streaming down her face.

One voice told her not to kill him, but another insisted on doing so. Seeing Mo Xiao in pain, Feng Lixue was heartbroken. She hoped Mo Xiao could take her away with him. Mo Xiao reached out to take Wu Chen’s hand, wanting to leave with her. But Wu Chen stabbed him again with a sword. Mo Xiao’s blood instantly dripped to the ground—he hoped to end this cycle of hatred with his own life.

Seeing Mo Xiao lying before her, Wu Chen was overwhelmed with sorrow. She knelt down silently and looked at his face, remembering how she had seen him as a child and how he had taken her away from Mang Mountain and cared for her all along. Wu Chen collapsed weakly to the ground, tears falling uncontrollably, and let out a heartbreaking scream to release her inner pain.

Po Yun, hearing the sound, rushed in to check on Feng Lixue, but Chong Guang appeared and with a wave of his hand, knocked Po Yun unconscious. Feng Lixue saw Chong Guang appear behind her and didn’t understand why, even after taking revenge, her heart still hurt so much. Chong Guang comforted her, causing her to fall asleep unknowingly.

Then, Chong Guang woke Mo Xiao with a slap, but a cloud of black mist swept across Mo Xiao’s face, and he once again closed his eyes. Chong Guang walked alone into the treasure chamber and took the spirit stones within. Ten years ago, Chong Guang saved Feng Lixue by dripping his own blood into her mouth at the foot of a cliff.

When Feng Lixue opened her eyes, she saw Chong Guang before her, with snow falling heavily outside and the world cold and frozen. She fainted again. Chong Guang saved a snow fox that was about to freeze to death and had her stay in the snow cave to take care of Feng Lixue and ensure her survival. Since then, Xue’er became Feng Lixue’s only companion in that place. The Tianxing Secret Treasure suddenly opened.

As everyone on the shore tried to explore it, they found Tongming Island suddenly overturning. Countless people were thrown into the water. Xie Lingyun, who had fallen into the water, was still worried about Murong Jing’s safety, calling out to the nearly unconscious Murong Jing. Xie Lingyun barely survived and returned to Shushan, but he remained unconscious for several days. Murong Jing and the others were missing.

Murong Jing’s brother, Murong Ce, was furious—why did so many people die, and only Xie Lingyun returned? Why had Murong Jing not come back? But Murong Changfeng believed that no news might mean they weren’t dead. Yuan Beichen believed Feng Lixue was the root of all this and hated her deeply, convinced that she had orchestrated everything. Now that Feng Lixue and the disciples of the Immortal Sect had disappeared together, he suspected it was a mutual destruction plan.

Murong Changfeng thought that if they could find Feng Lixue, they could find out what happened to Murong Jing and the others. Murong Feng volunteered to search for news of Feng Lixue. Yuan Beichen had no choice but to assign the task to Murong Ce, reminding him that the goal was to retrieve their sect members. If he encountered Feng Lixue, he should avoid her and prioritize his safety. Murong Ce then took his leave.

Before Murong Ce left, Murong Changfeng told him one thing in particular: Mo Xiao’s fate was currently unknown, but the events on Tongming Island had caused Mo Xiao great disaster. Even if he survived, his future was bleak. He advised Murong Ce, who had great capability, to consider the future leadership of the sect. However, Murong Ce only wanted to find his sister and had no interest in such long-term matters.

Episode 15 Recap

Murong Ce led a group to Wan Island Ice Lake to search for Murong Jing. He was determined to find the missing people, even if it meant scouring every single island. Meanwhile, Xie Lingyun finally woke up, but he was constantly haunted by nightmares. Upon waking, he cried out for Murong Jing, convinced she ended up this way because she tried to save him.

Murong Ce’s group found Mo Xiao unconscious and drifting in the water, but they didn’t see anyone else. With no other leads, they brought Mo Xiao back. Xuan Zhen treated him and discovered a wound on his chest caused by the Phoenix Feather Chain, and noticed that his meridians were reversed. She suspected something unusual had happened. Yuan Beichen feared that Fengyue’s past words might have come true—Feng Lixue could indeed be Mo Xiao’s destined calamity.

People from Penglai came to demand Haotian’s life from Yuan Beichen, which is when he learned that the Penglai faction had gone to Wan Island Ice Lake. With Mo Xiao still unconscious, Yuan Beichen agreed to question him thoroughly once he woke up. The Penglai sect leader insisted that all four sects must be present to get to the bottom of this. Murong Ce pointed his sword at Mo Xiao, demanding an explanation, blaming him for the tragedy.

He was furious that Mo Xiao refused to kill Feng Lixue and believed that had led to the deaths of their comrades. Enraged, Murong Ce tried to kill Mo Xiao but was stopped by the arriving Xie Lingyun. Mo Xiao promised he would give an explanation to his sect. Mo Xiao told Xie Lingyun that before he lost consciousness, he saw a mysterious figure take Feng Lixue away.

If they could find that person, they would be able to find Murong Jing and the others. Although he wasn’t sure how to find them yet, he believed that since the person had already appeared, they wouldn’t stay hidden for long. The sect leaders of Shushan pressured Yuan Beichen to impose punishment. Murong Changfeng added fuel to the fire, and even Yuyao, the disciple of the Shushan sect leader, dared to openly accuse Yuan Beichen.

Enraged, Yuan Beichen resigned from his position as sect leader. At that moment, Mo Xiao appeared and asked Yuan Beichen to punish him instead. However, Yuan Beichen confessed that he had secretly benefited from the situation. He believed that Feng Lixue’s survival had to mean something, and to uncover the one behind her, he had secretly instructed Mo Xiao not to kill her. Xie Lingyun volunteered to help Mo Xiao make amends and investigate further.

Xie Tianjun was reluctant to let Xie Lingyun go but couldn’t bring himself to stop him, emotionally urging his son to take care of himself. Xie Lingyun had never seen this side of his father and was a bit unaccustomed to it. Murong Ce also offered to go with Xie Lingyun and Mo Xiao to Wan Island Ice Lake, where they discovered a deep whirlpool.

They speculated that this could be the key, and the three dove into the whirlpool in the mountain, arriving in another world—Desire Valley. Upon entering Desire Valley, Mo Xiao and his group found a place full of singing and dancing, with countless flower petals falling from the sky. Wu Chen dreamed of killing Mo Xiao, and she woke up from the nightmare in a panic.

Sitting in front of the mirror, she wept, haunted by the ruthless version of herself, her heart aching to the point she could barely breathe. Suddenly, Wu Chen saw Chong Guang standing outside. She ran to him, asking who she really was and whether he was the one who had separated her divine consciousness. Chong Guang told her the truth—it was she who had separated her own consciousness. But without him, she wouldn’t have survived.

From now on, there would be no more Wu Chen or the masked woman—only Feng Lixue. Chong Guang promised to make Feng Lixue even stronger and returned Po Yun to her. Chong Guang brought Feng Lixue before Xuyuan Wushuang, Ji Xingluo, and the others, declaring her the new Shaohao Star Lord. He announced that Feng Lixue was a disciple he had taken in ten years ago and the one who helped him retrieve the spirit stones.

Ji Xingluo was dissatisfied that an outsider had become Star Lord. Ming Huang also reminded Chong Guang that Feng Lixue had killed members of Shushan and would surely bring disaster. But Feng Lixue mocked Ming Huang for being cowardly and unfit to be a Star Lord. Her words delighted Chong Guang, who burst out laughing, saying that if all his followers were like her, he wouldn’t mind becoming the enemy of the world.

Ji Xingluo confronted Zi Ying, who had betrayed her. Zi Ying wasn’t afraid and instead reminded Ji Xingluo that she now belonged to Chong Guang. If Ji Xingluo dared to strike, she had better consider the consequences. Ji Xingluo was furious, clenching her teeth in hatred. Feng Lixue showed no real concern for Chong Guang. She simply acknowledged that she was his disciple and would follow his orders.

Chong Guang was very pleased and felt that Desire Valley suited her well. Chong Guang’s grandfather knew that Mo Xiao and the others had entered Desire Valley and guessed they would find this place soon. In private, Feng Lixue asked Po Yun if he knew whether any others had survived. Po Yun understood that she was worried about Mo Xiao. Ever since taking her revenge, she hadn’t felt any happiness. Though she said she had killed Mo Xiao, her heart ached terribly. She hoped he was still alive.

Episode 16 Recap

After Feng Lixue woke up, Po Yun noticed that she had been preoccupied, but she denied it. Although her mind was filled with thoughts of Mo Xiao, she insisted that her great revenge had already been fulfilled and she no longer had any worries. In the Valley of Desire, Mo Xiao encountered his three personal guardians, only to find that none of them recognized him. They each muttered about the most important things and people in their hearts.

When Murong Jing saw Xie Lingyun, she embraced him, subconsciously treating him as the most important person in her life. Although Mo Xiao realized they were likely under some sort of curse or poison, Xie Lingyun was still overjoyed. Ji Xingluo found Feng Lixue and exposed Chong Guang’s plot.

She believed that Chong Guang had long known the sacred stone was hidden within the Wind Chamber, which was why he deliberately took Feng Lixue in as a disciple and used her quest for revenge to seize the Wuyanshi and hide it in the secret chamber. Feng Lixue entered the chamber and picked up the Wuyanshi but was nearly caught. Fortunately, she was saved by Xuyuan Yunchao, who could control water.

Feng Lixue was grateful to him, though she expressed it a bit coldly, reminding him that he shouldn’t have gotten involved in her affairs. She also said that if he ever faced trouble in the future, he could come to her. Later, Feng Lixue arrived at the Valley of Desire and unexpectedly saw Mo Xiao. She was overwhelmed with emotion and began to cry, blaming Mo Xiao for coming there.

Mo Xiao admitted he had come to find her and warned her that she was being used, urging her to reveal who was behind it. Feng Lixue said she would uncover the truth herself, but if she found out Mo Xiao had deceived her, she would still kill him. Afterward, Feng Lixue confronted Chong Guang and asked what he wanted her to do next.

She also told him that Mo Xiao was still alive and questioned whether Chong Guang truly wanted her to kill him. Chong Guang replied that Mo Xiao was still useful for now and couldn’t be killed yet—but could be later. Feng Lixue immediately agreed.

Seeing how favored Feng Lixue was, Zi Ying tried to curry favor, claiming she could do the same, but Chong Guang slapped her and reminded her that in this world, only he had the authority to guide Feng Lixue. Zi Ying was ordered to deliver the Lesser Hao Star Lord robes to Feng Lixue. Feng Lixue noticed that Zi Ying clearly disliked her, and their conversation was unpleasant.

Zi Ying told Feng Lixue that she was just a pawn being used. Chong Guang only wanted the three sacred stones so that he could use them to obtain the Thousand Years Token. Eventually, the people in the Valley of Desire would lose their minds and fall under Chong Guang’s control. When that happened, Feng Lixue would lose her value.

Feng Lixue then recalled what Mo Xiao had said—both Wu Chen and the woman with the phoenix mask were just pawns for Chong Guang, who was only using her hatred to achieve his own goals. Meanwhile, Mo Xiao and the others discovered that Senior Brother Lu had already been controlled and lost his mind. They knocked out the people holding Lu and rescued him.

They also realized that many others had become Granny’s puppets, all due to the water in this place. The petals and mist drifting in the sky were all poisonous. Mo Xiao and Xie Lingyun had to cover their faces to investigate. Murong Jing and the others were getting worse. Xie Lingyun had to block Murong Jing’s acupuncture points and promised to return and save her. Zi Su, missing Mo Xiao, mistook Murong Ce for him.

Mo Xiao determined that they had been poisoned with the Love and Desire Venom. Seven days after arriving, the affected people would be sacrificed. It was already the fourth day. Mo Xiao knew he had to act quickly and gave everyone veils to protect them from the poisonous air. Mo Xiao believed the biggest problem was the Sacred Stone of Desire. If it could be destroyed, everyone could be saved.

But Feng Lixue told him that the stone couldn’t be destroyed, or the people would die instantly. She also revealed Chong Guang’s true identity to Mo Xiao. He was shocked to learn that Feng Lixue’s master was the demon lord. Mo Xiao promised to clear everyone’s name and insisted the people of Shushan wouldn’t truly blame Feng Lixue.

Feng Lixue reminded him that tomorrow was her day to inherit the position of Star Lord—and whether or not the people of Shushan could be saved depended on Mo Xiao himself. When Mo Xiao returned, Murong Changfeng had already brought the people of Shushan there. Murong Changfeng declared that if they obtained one more piece, they could lead a hundred thousand members of the asura clan to Mount Buzhou and seize the Thousand Years Token.

The leader of Shushan ordered them not only to stop Chong Guang from finding the demonic stone but also to destroy his entire plan. Mo Xiao believed the Sacred Stone of Desire released its poison at night. He asked Murong Changfeng to lead the disciples out first and set up camp outside the city. Murong Changfeng had no choice but to leave, entrusting Murong Jing to Mo Xiao and the others.

On the day Feng Lixue officially became the Lesser Hao Star Lord, Chong Guang prepared a grand ceremony and tried to place the Star Lord’s ring on Feng Lixue’s finger. Ji Xingluo interrupted, pointing out that Feng Lixue had entered the secret chamber without permission and thus was not qualified to inherit the title. Xuyuan Yunchao stood up and took full responsibility.

Chong Guang punished Xuyuan Yunchao by sending him to the demonic prison, but did not blame Feng Lixue at all. He also realized that Xuyuan Yunchao had developed feelings for Feng Lixue.

Episode 17 Recap

Xuyuan Yunchao was punished and imprisoned, but he remained calm and leisurely read books. Feng Lixue, feeling guilty, came to visit him, thanking him for saving her twice. A benefactor is definitely more important than a friend, and she didn’t want to see Xuyuan Yunchao locked up for seven days. She took the initiative to plead with Chong Guang for his release.

Feng Lixue explained that it was Ji Xingluo who had set a trap that day, deliberately leading her into the chamber. She had only gone in out of curiosity to see what the Wuyan Stone looked like. Chong Guang openly admitted that he wanted to help Feng Lixue seek revenge, but he also had his own plans to fulfill. When Feng Lixue asked what those plans were, Chong Guang didn’t tell her.

Feng Lixue asked if he was afraid she might betray him. Unexpectedly, Chong Guang said that he and Feng Lixue were one and the same, and it was impossible for her to betray him. He moved closer to her, looked into her eyes, saying they could melt ten thousand miles of snow and ice. As he gently stroked her face, seemingly lost in the moment, Chang Ming came to report that Mo Xiao had broken in.

Chong Guang did not blame Mo Xiao; instead, he generously invited him to drink. Mo Xiao refused the drink and asked for the antidote from Ai Yu Valley, offering himself in exchange. He had already seen through Chong Guang’s elaborate scheme to lure him to Tongming Island. In fact, the Wuyan Stone could have been acquired without alerting Shushan, but Chong Guang had gone to great lengths, hoping to use those people's spiritual power to nourish the Demon Stone.

Mo Xiao alone was worth more than all of them. Chong Guang agreed to first send the antidote to Shushan’s disciples and urged Mo Xiao to drink the wine before him. Just as Mo Xiao was about to drink, Feng Lixue knocked the cup from his hand. Seeing her arrive made Mo Xiao very happy—they could finally be together.

Seeing the expression on Mo Xiao’s face pleased Chong Guang as well, because there was no poison in the wine itself, but the fragrance was already laced with venom. Once the love poison entered the heart, it would override all moral boundaries and compel one to follow their true desires. Though Mo Xiao’s cultivation was strong, even Chong Guang was unsure how many days it would take for him to succumb.

Precisely because Mo Xiao was Feng Yue’s disciple and a rare talent, Chong Guang was willing to wait. After learning from Chong Guang that Mo Xiao had already been poisoned, Feng Lixue went to see Mo Xiao specifically. She had imagined countless ways to take revenge, but never this one. Seeing the deep affection in Mo Xiao’s eyes made her feel terribly sad. Xie Lingyun and Murong Ce had already guessed that Mo Xiao would offer himself in exchange for everyone.

Seeing that he hadn’t returned for a long time, the two donned dark clothing to go find him. Chang Ming, following orders, entered the prison to retrieve the three from Shushan and gave them the antidote. Lu Jianchuan and the others quickly returned to normal. They were shocked to find themselves in the dungeon of Ai Yu Valley.

Chang Ming warned Lu Jianchuan that if they didn’t want to die, they had better take their brothers and leave immediately; if they stayed, they would become spiritual offerings for the Demon Stone. After handing the three over to Xie Lingyun and Murong Ce, Chang Ming quietly left. Xie Lingyun suspected that Lu Jianchuan had secretly hidden the antidote. Lu Jianchuan explained that he woke up after being force-fed the medicine.

Xie Lingyun didn’t press further and urged the three to quickly rejoin their sect leader. Meanwhile, Chang Ming secretly observed everything and later reported to Chong Guang. Upon learning that Shushan’s sect leader had arrived, Chong Guang began preparing for a “proper reception. ”Mo Xiao spent every day alone with Feng Lixue, telling her stories of his travels, hoping to never be separated from her. Feng Lixue was happy but couldn’t understand why she so easily believed Mo Xiao’s promises.

Just then, Chang Ming arrived to inform Feng Lixue that the people of Shushan had reached the outskirts of the city. Chong Guang wanted her to hasten the activation of the poison in Mo Xiao’s body. Once Mo Xiao fell into darkness, Shushan’s forces would fall into disarray. Feng Lixue warned Chang Ming not to meddle, saying she had her own plan. When he tried to say more, Mo Xiao grabbed him by the throat.

Feng Lixue once again ordered him to leave. Knowing he couldn’t defeat Mo Xiao, Chang Ming left. Mo Xiao declared with deep emotion that he would never let anyone hurt her, and Feng Lixue promised that as long as she was there, nothing would happen to Mo Xiao. Feng Lixue and Mo Xiao wandered through Ai Yu Valley together. Mo Xiao bought glutinous rice dumplings for her and carried her in his arms.

Murong Ce saw this scene and hurried back to fetch Xie Lingyun. Mo Xiao then flew with Feng Lixue up beside the high-altitude Demon Stone. The two looked deeply into each other's eyes and drank wine together in front of everyone. Murong Ce suspected Mo Xiao had been poisoned. Just as everyone was offering their blessings, Yu Yao suddenly attempted to assassinate Mo Xiao.

Feng Lixue stopped her and warned her that Mo Xiao’s life belonged to her, and no one else could touch him. Mo Xiao held Feng Lixue close, telling her that her eyes should see only him. The two shared a smile and walked away as if no one else existed. Chong Guang sat alone in a chair, but another version of him appeared in the mirror, warning that he had developed feelings for Feng Lixue.

If the lord of Ai Yu City fell in love, he would inevitably suffer a magical backlash. Chong Guang, however, refused to admit it, claiming instead that he was an immortal fallen god. Ji Xingluo went to find Wushuang and told her that Shushan was planning to act against Chong Guang. Wushuang believed that since even Mo Xiao had been poisoned, the other disciples were even less of a threat.

There was no need to rush to watch the chaos unfold. Ji Xingluo had waited for decades for this day, to see how Yuan Beichen would fall into the demon lord’s hands. Over twenty years ago, Yuan Beichen had humiliated and abandoned her. That hatred had never faded. But Wushuang didn’t seem interested in going. She remained in her palace, claiming she no longer felt love or sorrow.

Episode 18 Recap

Feng Lixue deliberately approached Mo Xiao and exposed his act of pretending to be poisoned. His true goal was just to get the antidote. Mo Xiao told Feng Lixue that everything she saw was real—though the poisoning was fake, his desire to be with her was genuine. Feng Lixue shed tears, unable to understand why Mo Xiao would do this, when she had once wanted to kill him.

Mo Xiao was helpless; he didn’t want to become enemies with Feng Lixue either, but they stood on opposite sides. He wanted to save those people, and Feng Lixue was among them—even if it meant dying, he would still do it. Feng Lixue reminded Mo Xiao that the place where the antidote was kept was extremely dangerous, but Mo Xiao insisted on going, even if it cost him his life. Feng Lixue’s tears fell—she had never seen someone so foolish.

Mo Xiao arrived at the place where the antidote was kept. There was a barrier called the Sea of Ten Thousand Red Dusts, and to see the woman on the other side, one had to cross it. If there was love in one’s heart, it would bring soul-piercing pain. Yet Mo Xiao stepped in without hesitation. Floating on the lake’s surface were all his past memories with Wu Chen.

The pain intensified with every feeling of love, making it almost impossible for Mo Xiao to move. Tears welled up in his eyes as Feng Lixue stood behind him, witnessing everything. The woman in red warned again that if love lingered in his heart, he would be dragged into the sea of red dust. Mo Xiao could no longer walk and had to crawl forward on his hands.

Visions of Wu Chen pleading with him to take her away appeared before him. Mo Xiao forced himself to stand, still enduring excruciating pain underfoot, but used his willpower to abandon all emotions and desires. Moved by this, the woman in red agreed to give him what he wanted. Mo Xiao requested the antidote to the Love and Desire poison, and the woman handed it to him with a wave of her hand. Feng Lixue silently turned and walked away.

Murong Changfeng arranged for some people to be escorted out first while he took others to confront the demon lord for the antidote. Meanwhile, Mo Xiao placed the antidote on the Stone of Desire, instantly curing everyone in the Valley of Love and Desire. When Murong Jing woke up, she blushed at the memory of her earlier behavior toward Xie Lingyun.

Murong Changfeng led Xie Lingyun and Murong Ce to confront Chong Guang, warning that if he didn’t abandon his ambitions, they would eliminate him. He demanded that Chong Guang hand over the antidote. Chong Guang was unfazed by the threat and reminded Murong Changfeng that Mo Xiao was still in his hands. But just then, Changming arrived to report that Mo Xiao had already obtained the antidote.

As he finished speaking, Mo Xiao appeared behind everyone, making Chong Guang realize that Feng Lixue had kept the truth from him and had helped Mo Xiao succeed. Mo Xiao instructed Murong Changfeng to lead everyone away while he faced Chong Guang alone. Chong Guang tried to win Mo Xiao over, suggesting they join forces to dominate the three realms, and noted that everyone had willingly served him—including Feng Lixue, and potentially the future Mo Xiao as well.

Mo Xiao flew into a rage upon hearing this and attacked Chong Guang with his sword. Murong Changfeng told Xie Lingyun to send news of the situation back to Kunlun Ruins. When Zi Su woke up, she was so embarrassed by her earlier actions that she wished she could disappear. Just as Mo Xiao and Chong Guang were engaged in battle, Feng Lixue suddenly arrived. Mo Xiao was briefly distracted upon seeing her and coughed up blood.

Feng Lixue pulled him down with her Phoenix Feather Chain, reminding him that since he had already rescued the people of Kunlun Ruins, he should leave quickly. But Mo Xiao insisted she leave with him. He believed that the events of the past had other causes. Feng Lixue said she would investigate, but it had nothing to do with Mo Xiao. She had begun to believe him, but then realized he had deceived her again.

Mo Xiao cried, saying that the greater cause left him no choice. Without the pretense of the poison, he wouldn’t have been able to say those words—but everything he said was from his heart. Feng Lixue didn’t want to listen any further and flew away. Some imprisoned people from Kunlun Ruins began to transform into demons because the antidote hadn’t taken effect. When Senior Brother Lu led a group to rescue them, he was terrified and dared not move forward.

Zi Su worried that her grave mistake would cause Mo Xiao to drive her away. Zi Mu told her that there was nothing wrong with liking Mo Xiao—she herself also liked him, though it was beyond romantic affection. She simply wanted to support him in becoming the leader of the Immortal Sect. She understood everything clearly and believed Mo Xiao would not blame Zi Su for this. What Zi Su needed to overcome was her own mental hurdle.

Just then, Zi Feng came to tell them that Mo Xiao had returned injured. While Zi Su was checking Mo Xiao’s pulse, Murong Changfeng rushed in, blaming Mo Xiao for not killing Feng Lixue. Mo Xiao argued that Feng Lixue was not a member of the demon cult—she was only holding on to resentment over her father’s death. As long as the truth could be uncovered, their conflict wouldn’t have to escalate.

Murong Changfeng had no choice but to let Mo Xiao explain it himself to Yuan Beichen. Mo Xiao actually felt like he was Feng Lixue’s fated disaster—every time they met, he brought her calamity. This time too, it was thanks to Feng Lixue that he managed to get the antidote. Zi Ying saw Chong Guang healing himself and came to report that Feng Lixue wanted to see him.

Chong Guang threw her out and ordered that no one be allowed in without his permission. Then, Chong Guang personally went to find Feng Lixue. Feng Lixue explained that she hadn’t realized Mo Xiao’s poisoning was fake, but Chong Guang said he had seen hatred in her eyes ten years ago, which was why she was worthy to be his only disciple. Feng Lixue suddenly asked why he had saved her back then—was he also on the mountaintop?

Chong Guang gripped her shoulders hard, causing her great pain, and she expressed her loyalty to him—her life belonged to Chong Guang. Chong Guang then asked, “What about your heart? ”Just then, another Chong Guang appeared in the mirror and beckoned to Feng Lixue. She stepped inside, finding herself surrounded by water. Chong Guang, hidden in the darkness, told her to look at who she truly longed for. Suddenly, Mo Xiao’s face appeared. He smiled and walked toward Feng Lixue, who was horrified and shouted at him to leave quickly.
