Chong Guang needed to retreat to the secret chamber to recover and ordered Zi Ying to inform Chang Ming to guard him. He also told Zi Ying to take care of Feng Lixue. Although Zi Ying was unwilling, she had no choice but to follow orders. Chong Guang suffered severe injuries while purging the impurities in Feng Lixue’s body. As a result, Chang Ming advised him to remove the Bingqing Fu.

However, Chong Guang only wanted Feng Lixue to stay with him for a long time, believing that one day she would understand his painstaking efforts. Xie Lingyun and Murong Jing escaped from the Abyss of the Demon through underwater swimming. As soon as they surfaced, they were found and rescued by Murong Ce, who had come looking for them.

Zi Ying, jealous of the fact that Feng Lixue always occupied Chong Guang’s heart, became furious and tried to kill the unconscious Feng Lixue. But she was stopped by Mo Xiao, who rescued Feng Lixue and fled, only to be pursued by the demon lord's forces. Fortunately, Xuyuan Yunchao appeared to guide and escort them to safety. After returning, Murong Jing was treated and learned that Yuan Beichen had been poisoned. Murong Changfeng had already escorted him back to Shushan.

Since Mo Xiao had not returned, Xie Lingyun didn’t tell the truth and lied that Mo Xiao had only gone to scout the terrain of Mount Suyu. Murong Ce didn’t believe him but chose not to expose the lie. When Chong Guang came out and found Feng Lixue missing, he flew into a rage. No one was allowed to take her from him, not even someone of great use to him.

Alone, he intercepted Mo Xiao and Xuyuan Yunchao’s carriage, knocked Xuyuan Yunchao unconscious, and fought fiercely with Mo Xiao. Both men gave it their all for Feng Lixue. Eventually, due to his physical condition, Mo Xiao was overpowered. Feng Lixue was struck by Chong Guang and fell unconscious while trying to protect Mo Xiao. Chong Guang felt a sharp pain in his chest as the backlash of his magic worsened, but he still took Feng Lixue back with him.

Chang Ming once again advised him to remove the Bingqing Fu, stating that it must not delay their great cause. However, Chong Guang scolded him, declaring that Feng Lixue was his chess piece and not Chang Ming's concern. Chong Guang again ordered Chang Ming to deliver medicinal wine to Feng Lixue and warned him not to let her leave even half a step. Chang Ming handed the medicine to Zi Ying, who was waiting outside.

When Zi Ying brought the medicine, she rudely warned Feng Lixue again. Po Yun, displeased with her attitude, pressed a dagger to her neck and warned that without Feng Lixue’s orders, she was never to set foot in Shaohao Palace again. Xuyuan Yunchao woke up first, saw the unconscious Mo Xiao, and placed him in the carriage to be taken back. He returned alone to accept his punishment.

Zimu, Hezi Feng, and Xie Lingyun had been waiting at the intersection for Mo Xiao, growing increasingly worried when he didn’t return. As Zimu was blaming Xie Lingyun for not watching Mo Xiao properly, the carriage finally returned with Mo Xiao inside. Seeing Mo Xiao injured, Murong Ce blamed Xie Lingyun for covering for him. But Xie Lingyun believed Mo Xiao did nothing wrong.

Though he was the young sect master, he shouldn’t be expected to cut off all human emotions and desires. He even mocked Murong Ce, saying he had never experienced love and therefore wouldn’t understand. He only reminded him not to report every piece of information back to Shushan.

Senior Brother Lu was picking herbs for Yuan Beichen when he overheard some female disciples of Shushan praising Mo Xiao, saying he was the true hero this time, defeating Mount Suyu and saving everyone. Displeased, Lu suddenly noticed his fingernails turning black. He quickly sent away his two junior disciples and endured the pain of being invaded by demonic energy alone. Because Xuyuan Yunchao helped Feng Lixue escape without permission, he was scolded by Wushuang upon his return.

Since Yao Ling Palace could not act without Chong Guang’s order, Xuyuan Yunchao was not punished by Chong Guang, but Wushuang would not forgive him. However, Xuyuan Yunchao willingly accepted the punishment, which seemed to ease Wushuang’s anger somewhat. Xuan Zhen personally treated Yuan Beichen. Although there were no major issues at first, Yuan Beichen suddenly showed symptoms of poisoning. Xuan Zhen identified it as Wugenhua poison.

Murong Changfeng and Xie Tianjun speculated that someone from the demonic sect might be hiding on the mountain. Mo Xiao remained unconscious, worrying Zi Su and the others, who visited every day to care for him. One day, Mo Xiao suddenly emitted a glowing aura. It was demonic energy, which made Zi Su uneasy. In his dream, Mo Xiao saw Feng Lixue saving him and was suddenly jolted awake.

Just then, Hualang came with news that Yuan Beichen was unconscious due to Wugenhua poison. A message also came from Fengyu Sect to Murong Ce, informing him of Yuan Beichen’s condition. Murong Ce took some people back first, while Murong Jing, Zi Su, and others stayed behind to wait for Mo Xiao. Xie Lingyun, however, already knew that Mo Xiao had left to search for the antidote.

Wushuang, Ming Huang, and Ji Xingluo tricked Feng Lixue into coming out, intending to kill her and throw her into the Abyss of the Demon to be devoured. During the fight, a figure in a black cloak appeared and took Feng Lixue away. Wushuang did not pursue them, guessing it was one of Chong Guang’s subordinates and decided to settle the score with Chong Guang together. When Feng Lixue woke up, Po Yun was guarding her.

He had returned to find her lying on a chair and didn’t know what had happened. Feng Lixue asked Po Yun if he had ever heard of an old demon servant at Mount Suyu, but Po Yun had no knowledge of it. After Po Yun went out, Feng Lixue saw Mo Xiao disguised as one of the demon lord’s subordinates.

Mo Xiao begged Feng Lixue to leave with him, but she insisted on staying to investigate the truth behind her father's death. She did not want to leave with him. Mo Xiao then revealed that another reason he came was to find the antidote to Wugenhua. Just then, Tianxin, a maidservant of Xuyuan Yunchao, came to find Feng Lixue.

She had to hide Mo Xiao and went to see Tianxin, who begged Feng Lixue to save Xuyuan Yunchao, fearing he couldn’t survive the bitter cold punishment. She gave Feng Lixue a Cold Resistance Gold, hoping she could brave the cold and deliver it to him. Feng Lixue immediately agreed. Po Yun advised Feng Lixue to avoid getting involved, but she insisted on helping Xuyuan Yunchao out of gratitude and asked Po Yun to check on Mo Xiao.
