Mo Xiao followed his master into the room and immediately knelt down to admit his mistake. Yuan Beichen had already seen through that Mo Xiao was not seriously ill but had gone to Mount Suyu. However, he did not expose him in front of everyone, instead reminding Mo Xiao that this would be the last time. As a man, he had to swallow the bitterest of feelings that could not be controlled.

Feng Lixue opened her eyes and found herself back at the Tianxing Manor. Gu Bai, who had been in charge of the Tianxing Sect's business operations, was also summoned by Po Yun. According to Gu Bai, although Shushan had sealed the Tianxing Sect, a mysterious person had secretly supported it, allowing her to secretly manage the sect’s affairs while waiting for the right moment.

Feng Lixue was very grateful for this and decided that she would find this mysterious person and thank him in the future. Yuan Beichen immediately stated that his health was not sufficient to deal with Chong Guang and requested that Mo Xiao take the position of sect leader to stop Chong Guang's evil deeds and protect the immortal sects. Everyone then congratulated Mo Xiao. At this moment, Feng Lixue suddenly appeared, and Mo Xiao, Xie Lingyun, and Murong Ce went out to check. Mo Xiao was very happy to see Feng Lixue again.

He knew that Feng Lixue had left the demonic sect and brought her to meet Yuan Beichen and the others. Feng Lixue hoped to take on all the sins of her late father and also wished to reopen the Tianxing Sect to benefit the people. However, the others did not believe her, thinking that she had followed the demonic sect for many years and had already committed many sins. They all called for her execution.

Murong Jing stood up to speak on Feng Lixue’s behalf, stating that Mo Xiao had only been able to find the antidote and save the disciples of the immortal sect because of Feng Lixue’s help. Yuan Beichen suggested postponing the matter of reopening the Tianxing Sect, but Feng Lixue insisted that the purpose of her visit today was for the immortal sects to come to a decision. She would not leave until the outcome was determined.

Yuan Beichen worried that Feng Lixue’s attempt to reopen the Tianxing Sect at this moment was likely part of Chong Guang’s scheme, and he had other intentions. He did not care whether Feng Lixue waited outside, but was more focused on quickly deciding on a new sect leader. Mo Xiao, having seen through Feng Lixue’s sacrifices to leave the demonic sect from the Heartstone, felt sorrow in his heart.

At this moment, Yuan Beichen sent someone to summon Mo Xiao, urging him to make a decision. Mo Xiao agreed to guard the Wuzhou Mountain but did not want to take the position of sect leader. Yuan Beichen, however, believed that Shushan, as the leading immortal sect, required every sect leader to hold the Heartstone as a pledge to the world. Anyone who held it would be bound to sever all emotional ties.

Yuan Beichen showed Mo Xiao his own Heartstone and asked if Mo Xiao could handle it. Mo Xiao nodded. That night, Mo Xiao secretly went to see Feng Lixue and swore in his heart that although they were fated to be apart in this life, he would make up for it in the next. At the same time, Lu Jianchuan went to the library where Murong Changfeng happened to be.

Murong Changfeng specially took him to view some internal martial arts manuals. Lu Jianchuan opened a book on the Soul Sealing Spell, and Murong Changfeng immediately helped him find it, but warned him to only read it, not practice it. Murong Changfeng then made an excuse to leave, leaving Lu Jianchuan alone in the room. The next day, Mo Xiao succeeded to the position of sect leader and publicly promised to protect the common people.

Yuan Beichen reminded Mo Xiao that while the Heartstone would help him protect his heart’s path, if he ever fell in love, it would sever his heart’s pulse. Yuan Beichen passed the Heartstone to Mo Xiao.
